August 29, 2014 …. Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar has greeted the people of the state for the Ganeshotsav festival beginning tomorrow.
In his message, Shri Parrikar said, “Goa’s most-awaited festival of Ganeshotsav has arrived. Lord Ganesha is worshiped at the beginning of all important events. He is hailed as the remover of all obstacles. This is a special time when family and friends get together to celebrate this auspicious occasion.
Ganeshotsav reminds us of the life and work of the great freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak, who turned Ganesh Chaturthi into a public festival to generate public opinion for securing complete Swaraj.
The Chief Minister wished that Chovoth will not only reunite families but also strengthen the social fabric of Goa. May this Chaturthi remove all hurdles and may Lord Ganesha bless us all with wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
