Panaji : November 14,  2025 ::The South Goa District Mineral Foundation (SGDMF) has launched a series of significant initiatives aimed at improving disaster response capacity and community welfare across the mining-affected talukas of Sanguem, Quepem, Dharbandora, and Ponda. These initiatives were formally inaugurated and flagged off by the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, today at Margao. SGDMF has also provided two Tata Yodha 4×4 vehicles and two hearse vans for exclusive use in the mining-affected regions of these talukas. The hearse vans will help ensure dignified, reliable, and accessible transportation of deceased persons, addressing a crucial service gap in rural and interior belts. Similarly, SGDMF extended meaningful assistance to persons with disabilities by providing Assistive Adaptive Non-Geared Scooters to three Divyangjan beneficiaries — Ms. Geeta Masurkar, Shri  Birappa Kagi, and Shri Pandurang Tate — thereby enhancing their mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.
