The Department of Official language under the Home Department of the Government of India, New Delhi has introduced a revised scheme named ‘Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar Yojana’ from the year 2025-26 with an objective to encourage writing books originally in Hindi language and to promote the official language.

Under this scheme, the citizens of the India will  be awarded in five categories for writing original book in Hindi on domains like engineering, electronics, computer science, law and police research forensic science, culture, region, arts and heritage and other allied subjects. Also award for books translated in Hindi on classics and subjects related to culture, art, heritage etc. Similarly, awards will be conferred to non-Hindi writers from ‘C’ region.

There will be three prizes in each category at a range of Rs. 1.5 lakh to forty thousand. Books published during January to December 2026 will be accepted for the award.

Similarly, the Department has also introduced the award scheme named “Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar” for Ministers, Departments, PSUs, Boards, Autonomous bodies, trusts, Nationalized banks, Departmental Hindi Magazines etc. Three awards will  be conferred in form of shield based on quarterly progress reports related to the implementation of the official language policy. The awardees should meet the other criteria to be eligible for the award.

The books will be evaluated by a committee constituted by the Government. The entry should be sent along with the proforma attaching three copies  of the book.
