Goan Reporter:WOMEN-LED ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN GOA TO GET MAJOR PUSH WITH WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP PLATFORM (WEP) CHAPTER LAUNCH

The State Chapter of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) will be launched in Goa on May 14, 2026, at Zuari Hall, Lok Bhavan, Dona Paula. The initiative is being organised by the Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM), Department of Rural Development, Government of Goa. The launch aims to strengthen women-led enterprise growth across the State.

 

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform, an initiative of NITI Aayog, has been created to support aspiring and established entrepreneurs. The platform focuses on mentorship, training, networking, funding access, market linkages, and enterprise support services. The Goa Chapter is expected to encourage startups, self-help groups, innovators, and emerging founders from different sectors.

 

As part of the launch, the programme will include unveiling of the WEP Goa Chapter and release of a six-month action roadmap. Collaborative initiatives connected with entrepreneurship, handicrafts, enterprise expansion, and skill enhancement will also be introduced during the event. Sessions focusing on entrepreneurial journeys, business growth, and interaction with women entrepreneurs from Goa will form part of the schedule.

 

The initiative is expected to improve access to institutional guidance, professional networks, capacity-building support, and commercial opportunities for women across urban and rural regions. It also aims to encourage stronger participation in emerging industries and livelihood-driven economic activities.

 

The event will be attended by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Ms. Anna Roy, Mission Director, Women Entrepreneurship Platform and Programme Director, NITI Aayog, senior Government officials, representatives of self-help groups, startups, industry bodies, women entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders.
