District Magistrate, South Goa District and Kushavati District has designated Chief Officers and Mamlatdars as Nodal Officers under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibiotion and Redressal) Act, 2013. Chief Officer, Quepem Municipal Council has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Quepem Municipal Council; Chief Officer, Cacora-Curchorem Municipal Council has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Cacora-Curchorem Municipal Council; Mamlatdar of Quepem has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Village Panchayats falling in Quepem Taluka; Chief Officer, Sanguem Municipal Council has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Sanguem Municipal Council; Mamlatdar of Sanguem has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Village Panchayats falling in SanguemTaluka; Chief Officer, Canacona Municipal Council has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Canacona Municipal Council; Mamlatdar of Canacona has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Village Panchayats falling in Canacona Taluka; Mamlatdar of Dharbandora has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Village Panchayats falling in Dharbandora Taluka; Chief Officer, Margao Municipal Council has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Margao Municipal Council; Chief Officer, Cuncolim Municipal Council has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Cuncolim Municipal Council; Mamlatdar of Salcete has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Village Panchayats falling in Salcete Taluka; Chief Officer, Mormugao Municipal Council has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Mormugao Municipal Council; Mamlatdar of Mormugao has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Village Panchayats falling in Mormugao Taluka; Chief Officer, Ponda Municipal Council has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Ponda Municipal Council ; and Mamlatdar of Ponda has been designated nodal officer within the limits of Village Panchayats, falling in Ponda Taluka.
The Nodal Officers shall receive complaints of sexual harassment at workplace falling within their respective jurisdictions and shall forward the same to the Local Complaints Committee, South Goa District and Kushavati District, Goa, within a period of seven days, as required under the Act. The Nodal Officers shall also ensure that proper confidentiality is maintained in respect of complaints received and shall act strictly in accordance with the provisions of the POSH Act, 2013, and the rules framed thereunder.The concerned Nodal Officers shall display information regarding the Local Complaints Committee and the mechanism for submission of complaints at a prominent place in their respective offices for the information of the general public and stakeholders.
