The Government works on the principle of Bahujan Hitay Bahujan Sukhay and therefore always upholds the interest of common person. The initiative of the Government in implementing loan waver scheme is to provide solace to the people who availed loan through Goa State SC and Other Backward Classes Financial Development Corp. Ltd. and are under burden of debts for many years stated Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant while addressing at the function of distribution of loan waver certificates organized by the Goa State SC and Other Backward Classes Financial Development Corp. Ltd at IMB in the city today.

The Chief Minister said the scheme of financial assistance for business was implemented by the Government thereby achieving financial empowerment of OBC and SC and other communities. He said the Government through various Government Department also implements various social welfare schemes in the interest of the bahujan community. The loan waiver scheme implemented has an objective to provide financial relief for long-term defaulted beneficiaries from marginalized communities including SC, OBC, Divyangjan, and Safai Karamchar who face severe economic hardship. They have been also provided various recovery options with the intention to ease their burden he added.

The Chief Minister speaking further announced another welfare scheme named Mukhyamantri Bahujan Utkarsh Yojana for extending financial assistance for students of bahujan for pursuing higher studies at abroad.

Minister for Social Welfare Shri Subhash Phaldesai said that the Government is committed to the welfare of every section of the society. Government while formulating policies takes every section into consideration and no one lack behind in terms of development. The Department of Social Welfare implements various schemes for the empowerment and development of weaker section of the Society.

Shri Phaldesai said the loan waver scheme of the Government will certainly ease the burden of the loan, providing them the much needed relief. He complemented Chief Minister for his cooperation in this endeavour.

Chairman of the Goa State SC and Other Backward Classes Financial Development Corp. Ltd Shri Dayanand Mandrekar while speaking thanked Government for extending wholehearted support in implementing this loan waver scheme to 490 beneficiaries thereby providing them from the burden of loan.

The Chief Minister thereafter distributed loan waver certificates and orders of Graha Suraksha  Yojana  to the beneficiaries.

Ltd Shri Dipesh Priolkar, Director Social Welfare Shri Dipak Desai, Members of the Board of Directors of the Goa State SC and Other Backward Classes Financial Development Corp. Ltd and others attended the function.
