The Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services have informed the general public that, a drive/survey in the State of Goa will be conducted to collect data on stray dogs and pet dogs across the State, as also the stray cattle that are found near highway/roads, area/locality wise by the Urban and Rural local bodies of the State during the period from 01.10.2026 to 15.10.2026 in pursuance to the directions issued by the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay at Goa in Suo Moto Writ Petition No. 2 of 2026 in Compliance with the directions issued by the Supreme Court in Suo Moto Writ Petition No. 5 of 2025.
All feeders and volunteers in every ward are requested to contact their respective Panch/Councillor/Corporator and provide information relating to the stray dogs and stray cattle in their respective local areas latest by 25.09.2026.
A door-to-door campaign will also be undertaken by the concerned ward member/panch/councillor, with the help of dog feeders/volunteers to identify the number of domesticated/pet dogs in the ward, with their gender and sterilization status.
The cooperation of all members of the public is hereby solicited to provide the required information for successful conduct of the drive.
