The Death Anniversary of a prominent figure in Goa`s freedom struggle Dr.T.B. Cunha was observed today. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant led the people of State in paying rich tributes to Dr. T.B. Cunha at the Memorial, Azad Maidan, Panaji.
In a solemn ceremony organized by Department of Home at the memorial of Dr. T.B.Cunha at Azad Maidan Chief Minister Dr. Sawant laid a wreath on the memorial. Minister for Power Shri. Ramkrishna Dhavalikar, Chief Secretary, Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS and Inspector General of Police Shri. Keshav Ram Chaurasia, IPS, Collector North Goa Shri. Ankit Yadav and others were present on the occasion.
Police contingent paid Guard of Honour and the Police Band played last post to the memorial.
Dr. T.B.Cunha played a significant role in mobilizing public opinion against Portuguese colonial rule and in advancing the cause of Goa`s freedom movement and national integration.
The event held at Azad Maidan recalled his contribution and legacy in Goa`s history.
