Ccp mayor warns state government of taking serious consequences if the south goa collector do not submitt his report on market illegalities with in a week’s times

01-06-2013 … Ccp mayor surendra furtado on Saturday warned the state government of taking serious consequences in the week to come if the south goa collector n d agarwal had not submitted his report on market illegalities with in a week’s times

 It may be noted that the inquiry report of the panjim market committee which had to be submitted to the corporation by 30th of April was later delayed till 30th of may by the south goa collector n d agarwal while ccp mayor surendra furtado had mentioned of handing over the case to state lokayukta if the case was found to be a complicated one

 South goa collector n d agarwal was appointed to inquire into the alleged irregularities pertaining to the allotment of shops and vacant spaces in the new city municipal market complex.

The allotment of shops in Panaji in 2005 has been marred in controversy with the alleged irregularities in the allotment. The CCP’s original list contained names of the traders who occupied kiosks in the old market who were promised shops in the new market.

Speaking to goanreporter ccp mayor surenda furtado said he had not received any intimation over the report from the government of goa nor from the municipal administration and the reasons were best known to them

Furtado also blamed the state government for creating hurdles in front of the final report which had to be submitted before the ccp council

It may be noted that the cabinet on Wednesday had decided to curtail the fishing ban period in Goa from the proposed 75 days to 61 days which would be operational from June 1 to July 31, both days inclusive.

Chief minister manohar parrikar had said that the fishing ban would be applicable to all motorized fishing vessels and would not be applicable for manually operated canoes.

Speaking to goanreporter chairman of Mandovi Fishermen’s Marketing Cooperative Society menino afonso said that though he welcomed the state government decision of imposing a 61 days fishing ban he hoped that the same ban would be imposed strictly for in goan waters

Menino also said that there was a need from the state government side to keep a watch on outside trawlers who had ventured in to goan sea water even when there was a fishing ban period in goa

 Pawar is in goa for the past few days and has already interacted with the state ncp leaders over various issues of the party in the state as well over the upcoming lok sabha election

Goa police team on arrests six bookies being alleged involved in to the IPL betting syndicate being operated from goa.

28-05-2013 … Finally the betting racket Digital Marketing Agency in Goa seems to have dropped in to goa with the Goa police team on Monday arresting six bookies being alleged involved in to the IPL betting syndicate which was being operated from goa.

The six bookies are said to be from Mumbai and were operating for last 45 days in Goa accepting bets and a total of forty five mobile phones have been recovered from the bookies who were picked up from a rented room at Candolim.

 The betting syndicate was exposed during the joint investigation of Goa police with their Delhi counterparts who are also in Goa to investigate the spot-fixing scandal allegedly involving IPL team Rajasthan Royals’ players.

Speaking to media reporters director general of police kishan kumar gave more details about the issueand said that the goa police team had arrested the six bookies in goa

26-05-2013 …  Stating that there was a need to curb goan land being sold to outsider’s South goa mp Francisco sardinha on Wednesday urged the need from the state government to come out with as special legislation in regard to special status to goa was concerned or else feared of goans becoming minorities in their own state in years to come

Addressing media press conference at the party head office in panjim south goa mp Francisco sardinha said that there was a need for the state government to take a decision in the interest of the state over outsiders buying land in goa and urged the goans not only to blame the state government but also not to sell their land to outsiders

According to sources from the state police department three to four police officers from delhi who are investigating in to the indian premiere league spot fixing issue have already commenced their work in goa where in the dehli police team have got a possibility lid of certain bookmakers to have stayed or are in goa presently and had played a vital role as bokkies for betting on ipl matches….

 sources also stated that there was a possibility of the delhi police team also trying to investigate if one of the arrested player s sreesanth in to the spot fixing issue had invested any money in to real estate business in goa as few months back the former India cricket team player was down in goa to play ranji matches and had also stayed at one of a tourist spot in north goa …

Goa SSC (Class 10) results 2013 announced with a passing percentage of 81.43 per cent including exempted candidates

23-05-2013 … The Goa SSC (Class 10) results 2013 were declared on Thursday with a passing percentage of 81.43 per cent including exempted candidates from which girls had higher passing percentage of 85.49% as compared to boys’ 85.19% per cent

The Goa Board of Secondary school certificate Examination was held in March for which more than 18,000 students had appeared for the March 2013 examination.

The examinations were conducted from the 28th of March to the 8th of April at 24 centers in goa

While a total of 9302 boys had appeared for the examination from which 1060 were exempted while a total of 9207 girls had appeared from which 972 were exempted.

In the passing scenario, a total of 7924 boys passed out in the examination while 469 were exempted while in the girls category a total of 7871 got themselves passed while 463 were exempted from the passing category.

The overall boys passing percentage came to around 85.19% while 44.25% were exempted while in girls category the passing percentage was around 85.49% while 47.63% were exempted.

Around eight six schools secured over 95% passing percentage at the recent concluded ssc exams

The board has also kept 3rd of June as the date for revaluation and verification in the presence of parents or guardians, photocopies of answer books, while verification in presence of absentia or presentia is kept on 24th June 2013.

Speaking to media reporters, chairman of goa board of secondary and higher secondary examination J R Rebello gave more details about the examination results and said that more number of students had excelled in this year ssc examination.
