WEEKLY REVIEW OF PRICES AND SUPPLY OF IMPORTANT ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

Panaji: November 03, 2018 … The statement of market price has intimated by the Registrar of Co-operatative Societies of important essential commodities in Panaji, Margao, Mapusa and Vasco for the week ending October 26, 2018.

The prices of parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice super fine, raw rice fine, raw rice common and gur fine remained steady in all the markets during the week.  Sugar S-30 at Mapusa and Vasco decreased by Rs.2/- per kilo respectively, but was steady in other market.  

The prices of turdal barshi, moongdal, uraddal, gramdal, moong, gram kabuli big and peasdry remained steady in all the markets during the week. Masoordal at Panaji decreased by Rs.5/- to Rs.10/- per kilo, but was steady in other markets.

The prices of sunflower oil, coconut oil and Vanaspati ghee Daldar remained steady in all the market during the week.

 Prices of potatoes, cabbage and chillies green remained steady in all the markets during the week under review.  Onions at Panaji increased by Rs.5/- per kilo, but was steady in other markets. Tomatoes at Margao, Mapusa and Vasco increased by Rs.5/- per kilo, but was steady in Panaji markets. Beans at  Margao increased by Rs.20/- per kilo, but was steady in other markets. 

The prices of coconuts of 100 bharti, 120 bharti, 150 bharti and 180 bharti remained steady in all markets during the week under review.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR PAYMENTS OF ELECTRICITY BILLS AT LOLIEM

Panaji: November 03, 2018 … As the Corporation Bank at Loliem have stopped accepting the payments towards consumers electricity bills,  the office of the Sub Divisional Engineer Electricity  Department, Sub Division-III, Canacona has informed to the consumers of V.P. Loliem jurisdiction area  that arrangements has been made at Loliem Village Panchayat premises  to pay their bills on November 8, 2018 between 10.00 a.m to 1.00 pm

GEC COLLEGE BAGS FIRST PLACE AT VIGILANCE WEEK CELEBRATIONS

Panaji, November 03, 2018 … Goa College of Engineering (GEC) bagged the first place at the All Goa Quiz inter-collegiate competition organized as part of the Vigilance Week celebration which concluded today. Nirmala Institute, Altinho came in second place while Goa Medical College came third. The consolation prize was given to Vidya Prabodhini.

Additional Secretary (Home), Shri Narayan Sawant, Additional Secretary (GA), Shri Amarsen Rane, Director (Vigilance), Shri. Sanjeev C. Gauns Dessai and Additional Secretary (Personnel), Shri. SHRI GARG INAUGURATES REGISTRATION DAY

Panaji:- November  2, 2018 … Secretary for Law Department, Shri C.R. Garg IAS inaugurated the first Registration Day at a function organized by the Registration Department at Patto, Panaji, yesterday.

Panaji: November 2, 2018 In Panaji Centre for the week ending October 23, 2018, in wholesale,  the prices of moong decreased by Rs.100/- to Rs.200/- per quintal. Parboiled rice outside, wheat Khandya, maida, potatoes, onions increased by Rs. 80/-, Rs.15/- to Rs. 50/-, Rs. 20/- to Rs.60/-, Rs.500/- to Rs.600/-  per  quintal respectively  and eggs large by Rs. 30/- per 100 nos during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like raw rice common, wheat shivri, turdal barshi, moongdal, gramdal, gram kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, vegetable ghee “Ruchi”, rawa, green peas, tomatoes, chillies green and bananas (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

        In the retail, the prices of onion increased by Rs.5/- per kilo and eggs large by Rs.4/- dozen dozen during the week.

         The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Khandva, wheat Shivri, jowar Shalu, turdal barashi, moongdal, gramdal, moong, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, coconut oil, vegetable ghee “Dalda”, rawa, maida, green peas, potatoes tomatoes, Chillies green and bananas (Vassai)  remained steady during the week.

The increase and decrease in wholesale price and increase in retail prices were due to increase and decrease in wholesale prices in supplying markets.

The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local, jowar Shalu and coconut oil, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.

IT MINISTER INAUGURATES VISTEON TECHNICAL AND SERVICE CENTRE PVT. LTD.

Panaji: November 1, 2018 … Minister for Revenue and IT Shri Rohan Khaunte inaugurated Visteon Technical and Service Centre Pvt. Ltd.” At Software Technology Park of India at Panjim today.

The centre is housed on the second floor of Udyog Bhavan building.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Khaunte expressed his happiness and said that this is the fourth technical centre of Visteon an American automotive electronics supplier in the country .Goa is the state which have been looking at IT very seriously.

It is the proud moment for all of us IT sectors, companies which are looking at expansion or a trying to put hub shops in Goa he added. Shri Khaunte further said, as we are very crucially looking at Hi tech industry, Visteon is known in this particular sector. This will be big boost for all of us in IT Sectors giving high skill people, a talent pool which will suffice requirement of the company. Shri Khaunte further said that with Visteon coming in Goa, it will be a anchor to pull and attract more company .Vision of Government to create revenue directly or indirectly and have employment in right scenario will be achieved with such kind of set up .

Panaji: November 1, 2018 ….  According to Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, the following important development activities were carried by the Department of Cooperation during the month of September, 2018. These include an amount of 2552.13/- lakhs were Loans and Advances by Goa State Coop, Bank Ltd., Panaji.

308 Coop. Societies have been audited during the month of September 2018, Total Amount of Audit fees has been collected of Rs. 3, 81,256/- during the month of September 2018. 239 number of societies filed returns. Total Amount of filling fees collected is Rs 75,900/-.

264 number of members have been enrolled during the month of September, 2018. 

An amount of loan recovered by the Co.op Bank and Other Institutions is Rs. 189.10 lakhs. An Amount of loan recovered by the Goa State Housing Finance and Federation Ltd is Rs. 38.99 lakhs.

 In September, 2018, 9,95,516.0 litres of milk from local and 2,00,677.0 litres of milk from outside State has been procured by Goa State Coop. Milk Producer’s Union Ltd, Curti, Ponda.

Indian Panorama announces Official Selection for 49th IFFI 2018. “OLU” directed by Shaji N Karun will be the opening Feature Film of Indian Panorama 2018.

Panaji: 1st Nov 2018 ::: The 49th International Film Festival of India announced the selection of films under the Film Section ‘Indian Panorama’ for the year, 2018. The Feature Film Jury of thirteen members was headed by acclaimed film director and screenwriter, Shri Rahul Rawail.

The Feature Film Jury selected the 22 Feature films. The Feature film Jury selected the film OLU directed by Shaji N Karun as the Opening feature film of Indian Panorama 2018. Four Mainstream films are also selecte      d under Indian Panorama Section of IFFI 2018 by an Internal Committee of DFF based on the recommendations of FFI and GUILD.

PLANNING USE OF LAND IS A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TOWARDS AGRICULTUTRE-AGRICULTURE MINISTER

Panaji: October 31, 2018 … Minister for Agriculture Shri Vijay Sardesai said that the report of the fallow land of Goa will help to know micro climate of that particular area and bring maximum land under cultivation to make the concept of Agri hub and Horti hub a reality  in the state.

Shri Sardesai was speaking as the chief guest for the function of Report release of Agriculture land use planning of Goa state. The function was organized by ICAR, National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning Nagpur, ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute Goa for Directorate of Agriculture Govt. of Goa.at Tonca  Karanzalem  today.

Shri Sardesai further speaking said that Planning of land use is an scientific approach towards farming. The adoption of this approach by the Directorate of Agriculture has good intention to boost agriculture. The Government from time to time initiated steps to bring agricultural reforms,  So now  the time has came to ponder over whether the purpose behind the same have  served or not ?

Shri Sardesai also said that, the Government has implemented various schemes to encourage community farming in the state. He advised the officials of the Agriculture Department to reach the report to grass root farmers and encourage them to bring maximum fallow land under cultivation so as to mark the target of 10,000hectors of land out of 13000 hectors of fallow land shown in the report.

The Director NBSS & LUP Nagpur while addressing at the function said that Goa has vast Khajan land, the soil resource database on 1:10,000 is very useful not only for the farmers but also for the planners, executors and                 administrators as well.  He said it has its relevance not only in terms of agriculture but also in regards of other lien activities like irrigation, soil conservation, water harvesting, forestry, horticulture, floriculture and landscape developers etc.

Dr. Singh further speaking said that Goa is the only state in the country to issue soil health cards to the farmers. The land use survey will help to introduce scientific cultivation, farming etc. in the state.  It will also help to identify micro climate of that area to know which land is suitable for which crop etc.

The Director of ICAR Dr. Eknath Chakurkar in his opening remarks said that characterization and mapping of land resources in Goa in reference to cultivated and fallow land use system is a step towards enhancing agricultural productivity. Owing to the importance of the   survey of fallow land which  is begin from Goa will be taken ahead to other states of the country in future he informed.
