KALOKH IN PRAYOG SAANJ ON SEPT. 29

Panaji, September 28, 2018 … The Directorate of Art and Culture, is organizing month end theatre activity called ‘Prayog Saanj’ on last Saturday of every month. This is the 64th performance of ‘Prayog Saanj’ which will be held on September 29,  2018 at 6.30 p.m. at Multipurpose Hall of Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji.

‘Kalokh’ a theatrical presentation will be presented in this ‘Prayog Saanj’. The play has been written by renowned writer late Shri Vijay Tendulkar and Directed by Shri Vardhan Kamat and Shri Sushant Naik. The actors are Shri Vardhan Kamat and Ms. Anuja Purohit Music has been composed by Shri Mandar Kelkar, Lights are designed by Shri Shrinivas Usgaonkar, Stage designed by Shri Soumitra Bakhale and Costumes designed by Ms. Suvidha Torgal Bakhale. The main objective of ‘Prayog Saanj’ is to provide a platform to the new groups and budding artist in the field of Drama. This activity has successfully completed its five years in the month of May 2018. The Directorate of Art and Culture provides its Multipurpose Hall free of cost for the performance of the plays. The groups interested to perform in ‘Prayog Saanj’ should contact the Directorate of Art and Culture for further details.

    The programme is open for all and it is requested to all the artists and theatre lovers to be a part of the same.

GOVERNOR VISITS BIOMEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT AND SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT AT GMC

Panaji, September 28, 2018 … As a part of ‘Swatcha hi Seva’ movement Governor of Goa Dr. Smt. Mridula Sinha today visited the Biomedical Waste Management (BMW) and Sewage Treatment Plant at Goa Medical College, Bambolim.

Minister for Health Shri. Vishwajit Rane, Secretary (Health) Shri. J. Ashok Kumar, IAS, Dean of GMC Dr. Pradip Naik, Medical Superintendent Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, Add. Secretary Health Shri. Sunil Masurkar, Under Secretary Smt. Trupti Manerkar, GMC’s Director (Administration) Shri. Dattaram Sardessai and others were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion the Governor said that patient considers a hospital as a temple and treats a doctor as God. “The GMC administration has always been at the forefront when it comes to health services and hope that the legacy shall continue in years to come,” the Governor said.

 Earlier, Dr. Bandekar welcomed the gathering and briefed about the upcoming Biomedical Waste Management and Sewage Treatment plant. He informed about various legal aspects and segregation management system followed at the plant. “The plant receives a total 909 kgs of BMW per day from GMC and other Govt. Hospitals. There are dustbins identified by different colours to segregate different type of waste. Systematic training is provided to nurses and other staff on time to time basis.”

The Governor thereafter visited the upcoming Super-Speciality Block’s construction site and took an overview of the project. She also planted a sapling and advised the officials to keep the surrounding clean and green.

GOVERNOR VISITS SEWERAGE TREATMENT PLANT AT SALIGAO

Panaji: Sept.27,2018 … The Governor of Goa Dr. Mridula Sinha paid a visit to the sewerage treatment plant at Saligao today During the visit she interacted with the workers about their safety concerns.  Thereafter she had a meeting with the officials and discussed about the function and operation of the plant.

 Shri Domnic Fernandes, OSD, SWM Cell during the discussion informed that more than 150 tonnes of garbage is treated everyday which is beyond its capacity and during some occasion like tourist season workload increases to 200 tonnes also. He said that the workers who are working on the plant are provided with safety and security equipments besides paying due attention towards hygiene and health of the workers. Apart from this he said the workers are provided with the facility of entertainment. The campus of the plant which is spread in around ten acres is filled with green cover by planting trees and having a garden around.

 Secretary Science and Technology, Shri Sanjay Gihar, Environment Engineer GSPCB, Shri Sanjiv Joglekar, Manager GSIDC, Shri Sandip Chodankar, staff of GWMC were present during the visit.  

 

GCA TO CONSTRUCT INTERNATIONAL CRICKET STADIUM AT DHARGAL

Panaji, September 27, 2018  …. Minister for Sports and Youth affairs Shri Manohar alias Babu Azgaonkar handed over the lease agreement to Shri Suraj Lotlikar ,President of Goa Cricket Association (GCA) in connection with construction of   International cricket stadium at Dhargal in Pernem Taluka at Secretariat Porvorim recently.

Shri Azgaonkar stated that Goa Cricket Association will construct an international cricket stadium having a seating capacity of 35,000 spectators. GCA has assured to construct the stadium within three years from the commencement of work he added.Shri Azgaonkar further said it was dream of Legendary Cricketer, Late Shri Dilip Sardesai that Goan cricketers should play at national and international level. The stadium will help to make our locals prepare themselves to play  at national and international matches and accomplish the dream of Legendry cricketer Dilip Sardesai .

Azgaonkar further informed that the proposed stadium will be equipped to play all three formats of cricket i.e.  Test, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20. It will also have provision for cricket academy to train our young sportspersons. The stadium he said will go a long way in boosting sports as well as tourism in the state which in turn will help in development of Pernem Taluka he added.

GOA Press Accreditation Committee Meets ADG PIB

Panaji September 26, 2018 … The Press Accreditation Committee yesterday called on the Aditional Director General of Press Information Bureau Shri Nitin Wakankar, IIS, Additional Director at National Media Centre, New Delhi and held discussions on the matters relating to Press Accreditation and other issues.

Shri Wakankar apprised the committee with the help of power point presentation about the Press Accreditation Rules of the PIB and the facilities that are extended to the press persons.

The PAC Committee is headed by its Chairman Shri Raju Nayak. Member Secretary of the committee and Director of Information and  Publicity Shri T.S. Sawant, Information Officer ( Publicity) Shri John Aguiar, Editor of Goa Doot Shri Waman Prabhu, Shri Shyam Gaonkar, Shri Ganesh Shetkar, Shri Kailash Naik, Shri Kenzil Rodrigues, Shri Alfred Fernandes, Shri Sudakar Naik and Shri Sandip Dessai were present.

GOA PRESS ACCREDITATION COMMITTEE CALLED ON SECRETARY, (PUBLIC RELATION), GNCTD

New Delhi: September 26, 2018 … Goa Press Accreditation Committee recently called on Secretary (Public Relations), Government of NCT of Delhi, Dr. Jayadev Sarangi in his office to discuss the various facilities provided by the Delhi Government to media persons.

The  delegation consisted of 11 members including Chairman, Editor Lokmat Shri Raju Nayak, Director (I&P) Goa, Shri T.S. Sawant, Information Officer, Shri John Aguiar, Editir of Goa Doot Shri Waman Prabhu, Liasion Officer Shri Shyam Gaonkar and others from various media and Goa news organizations.

In the meeting, various issues concerning to facilities being provided to accredited journalists by the Directorate of Information and Publicity of Delhi Government like Medical facilities, Parking facility, Bus and Rail travel facility were discussed at large.

Dr. Jayadev Sarangi, Secretary (PR) opined that such type of interactions between two or more government Departments should take place on regular basis, as it would be helpful in bringing out more coherence in the government rules and policies adopted by different state governments for the welfare of Media persons.

He also informed the visiting delegation that keeping in view the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s guidelines on government advertisements this Directorate has adopted an SOP for ensuring government advertisement & as per SOP the concerned Head of Department has to issue a content verification certificate for publication of the advertisement. The certificate is to be duly signed by the concerned Head of Department before the publication of the advertisement.

All officers present in the meeting expressed their views and deliberated different matter related to govt. policies and programme with the Goa delegation. 

The members of the GPAC interacted with the officers and officials of the Directorate (I&P), GNCTD. The queries raised by the members about the press accreditation rules and other issues were also clarified by the officers of the Directorate. Shri Nalin Chauhan, Dy. COMPETITION ON BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO

Panaji, September 26, 2018  … To commemorate International Day of the Girl Child, which is celebrated annually on October 11 to highlight issues concerning the gender inequality, the State Family Welfare Bureau, Directorate of Health Services along the District Collectorate ,North and South Goa will organise the following various competition on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.

For Government employees the competition are as follows: On October 6, 2018 Group Skit Competition will be held from 9.30 am onwards at Institute of Menezes Braganza Hall  at Panaji. The groups participating in the skit should have maximum of 8 to 10 participants and will be allowed a maximum of 8 to 10 minutes to perform. For the No Fire cooking competition, 2 male participants in each team will be permitted. For the Essay Writing competition, the topic will be ‘My daughter- My Pride. The essay should be submitted on an A4 size paper. The maximum word limit is 200 words and has to be submitted by September 26.

For students of Higher Secondary/College/ITI, the competition will be held on October 5. The Group  Skit Competition will be held from 9.30 am onwards at Institute of Menezes Braganza Hall  at Panaji. The Group skit competition will be for selected 12 groups from Taluka wise competition. 8 to 12 participants will have to be part of the skit and the time limit is 8 to 10 minutes.

For students of Higher Secondary/College/ITI taluka wise competitions will be held through UHC/CHC/PHC between September 21 to October 1 at the following places- CHC Pernem, Pernem, UHC Mapusa, Bardez,  PHC Bicholim, Bicholim, CHC Valpoi, Sattari, UHC Panaji, Panaji, UHC Vasco, Mormugao, PHC Ponda, Ponda, PHC Dharbandora, Dharbandora, PHC Sanguem, Sanguem, CHC Canacona, Canacona, PHC Balli, Quepem, UHC Margao, Salcete.

The first prize winners shall be chosen for the State level competition to be held on 5 October. The skit competitions for students will be held on October 5 from 9.30 a.m to 1.00 p.m and other competitions for Government employees will be held on October 6. The prize distribution will be done at the State level function on International Day of the Girl Child on October 11at the main hall of the Institute of Menezes Braganza Hall at Panaji.

MILIND NAIK AND NILESH CABRAL INDUCTED AS CABINET MINISTERS

Panaji, September 25, 2018 … MLAs Shri. Milind Naik and Shri. Nilesh Cabral were inducted in the Council of Ministers at a simple ceremony held at Darbar Hall ,Raj Bhavan, Donapaula yesterday.

Governor Dr. (Smt.) Mridula Sinha administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to both the Minister designate. Earlier Chief Secretary Shri. Dharmendra Sharma IAS, read the order of appointment.
