Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar launches e-services in state revenue as well as transport department

03/07/2015 …. As a part of the digital india week Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Friday launched e-services in the revenue as well as transport department in to the state of goa making it convenient for goan citizens to follow up with their issues online in the two state departments …

In the revenue department services such as land partition case management services, land conversion management, e-services at village panchayats in south goa and smart card based registration certificate were launched by chief minister parsekar in the presence of chief secretary s srivastava, infotech corporation chairman subash phaldesai and other government officials

While in transport department services such as chief minister Parsekar launched e-services of Smart Card based Registration Certificate and e- payment of taxes such as road tax/Passenger tax/Dealer Deposits which could be can be done through online payment system using e-Challan portal simply by filling the “e-Challan” form.

The Directorate has introduced Smart card based Driving license and launching Smart card based registration certificate in the state of Goa.

 

SEAT RESERVED FOR GOANS IN HANDLOOM AND TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY

Panaji: July 2nd, 2015 …. The Indian Institute of Handloom Technology –Thillai Nagar, Salem, Tamil Nadu (All India Handloom Board-Ministry of Textile GOI) has informed that degree Course B. Tech Handloom and Textile Technology will be commenced at Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Salem from the current academic year 2015-16. The Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has allotted one seat to Goa State and it will be filled up on merit basis.

          The requisite qualification as per category is HSSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum  average percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry  put together as given below,

for General Category — 50%, for Backward Class including Backward Class Muslim — 45% , for MBC & DNC — 40%  and  SC/ST — 40%.

GOVERNOR HOLDS MEETING WITH DOCTORS UNDER SWACCH GOA SWACCH BHARAT ABHIYAN

Panaji: July 2nd, 2015 …. The Governor of Goa Smt Mridula Sinha has reiterated that swacch Goa, Swacch Bharat mission will not be possible without people’s participation, involvement and support.

  The Governor was speaking at a meeting held with hospital authorities/ doctors at Raj Bhavan on tuesday.

  The Governor during the meeting, suggested measures like providing adequate toilets  to hospitals for visitors and maintaining cleanliness, having proper bio-medical waste disposal system in hospital, putting up hoardings and also slogans on vehicle,  placing adequate number of dustbins  inside/ outside hospitals, organizing awareness campaign etc.

  The Governor also suggested that one day in a week for atleast one hour should be devoted for maintaining cleanliness in and around the hospitals.

  The hospital authorities and doctors who were present at the meeting informed the Governor about the difficulties faced in maintaining cleanliness around the hospital areas. It was suggested that dustbins should be provided at appropriate places so that garbage does not collect in open areas.

  The Governor informed the hospital authorities that the issues will be brought to the notice of the Government.

  Secretary to Governor Smt Shilpa Shinde (IAS) was present at the meeting. Dr. N. RadhaKrishnan, Spl. Secretary to Governor welcomed and proposed vote of thanks.

POSITIVE ROLE OF MEDIA CAN PROMOTE CONSTRUCTIVE JOURNALISM: SHRI PRABHU

July 01, 2015 … Editor of Navprabha Shri Paresh Prabhu has said that journalists can play a key role in nation building and  added that positive role can promote constructive and positive journalism.

Shri Prabhu was speaking after he inaugurated “Vartalaap” Rural Media  Workshop organized by Press Information Bureau Panaji  at Institute Menezes Braganza hall Panaji today.

Shri Prabhu said journalism is basically meant to serve the people and therefore journalist should adopt positive feature of journalism and refrain from publishing news without authentication.

Director of Information and Publicity, Shri Arvind Bugde said that the  rural media has a rich potential, an educational and constructive role to play in the sphere of nation building. Rural Media he said  has a great responsibility towards the society. They are the eyes and ears of  the rural people and therefore they should focus on rural issues that throw light on changing social, economic, and political facets in villages.

Senior journalist Shri R. V. Prabhugaonkar said that words are like weapon and therefore  they should be used with caution. Journalists he said is a communicator and therefore he should be abreast with what is happening in his surroundings.

 Earlier the Assistant Director (Media and Communications) Press Information Bureau Shri B. V. Prabhugaonkar in his welcome address highlighted the  need for such workshop.

Media Officer Shri Samarjit  compered the function.

The inaugural sessions was followed with a talk by Shri Balaji Prabhugaonkar , AD(M&C), PIB on streamlining of flow of information from PIB to regional/Local/Rural media. Shri Rajendra Dessai, Editor, Dainik Herald spoke on reporting on Government programmes and policies. Shri Sachin Parab , Editor of Goa Doot spoke on Media and Crises Management while Shri Pramod Acharya Editor of Prudent media spoke on Changing media Scenario due to emergence of new/Social media.

RESULTS OF SUPPLEMENTARY H.S.S.C. EXAM ON JULY, 2

Panaji: June 01, 2015 …. Results of June, 2015 supplementary H.S.S.C. Examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will be declared on July 2, 2015 at 10.00 a.m.   The results booklet will be available on official website of this Board. 

The same may be downloaded by the Head of Institution for official purpose (Website:- www.gbshse.gov.in) and www.indiaresults.com.  The distribution of passing certificate cum statement of Grade/Marks of HSSC Examination will be done on July 2, 2015 between 10.30 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. at Board Office Alto-Betim, Bardez Goa. 

The Head of institutions should refrain from sending their candidates or parents to this office for the collection of passing certificate cum statement of Grade/Marks.  The Heads of institution should release the passing certificate cum statement of Grade/Marks as per instruction in letter enclosed alongwith consolidated results sheets. 

The Private candidates who appeared for this HSSC Examination should collect their passing certificate cum statement of Grade/Marks from the Boards office, Alto Betim Bardez Goa. 

The last date for accepting the application for the following in the Board office will be as for verification of marks in presence of parent/guardian on July 6, 2015, for supply of photocopies of answer-books on July 6, 2015, Re-evaluation of answer script on July 9, 2015 and for verification of marks in absentia/presentia on July 13, 2015. 

 The Supplementary HSSC Exam of June, 2015 was held between June 15, 2015 to June 29, 2015 and it was conducted at 2 centres in Goa.

A total of 309 candidates from Arts stream registered for the exam including repeaters, 342 candidates from Commerce, 421 from Science and 284 Candidates from Vocational stream. A total of 594 girls and 762 Boys candidates registered in June 2015 exam.

RESTORATION OF E-SERVICES OF COMMERCIAL TAXES DEPARTMENT

Panaji: July 01, 2015 ….  The Commercial Tax Department Services like Generation of e-Challan and Tax payments are available with effect from June 29, 2015 as the E-Services of the Department are restored on completion of work by NIC.

DATE OF SUBMISSION OF LIFE CERTIFICATE UNDER DSS SCHEME EXTENDED

Panaji: July 01, 2015 …. Directorate of Social Welfare has informed that date of submission of Life Certificate under Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) have been extended upto July 15, 2015.  Those who have already submitted Life Certificate need not submit it again.

 The Life Certificates signed by Bank Manager of the concerned Bank where in beneficiaries withdraw the financial assistance will also be accepted.

 Finance Assistance of those who fail to submit the life certificate on or before July 15 will be stopped.

It may be noted that the state government has already decided not to hold municipality elections on party lines and has also increased the number of wards in various municipalities according to their class

Addressing media persons director of municipal administration elvis gomes gave details about the number of wards being increased in certain class municipalities

Mr gomes said that the work of the delimitation of municipality wards was entrusted to the respective taluka mamlatdar’s who would classify as which wards did required to be rationalized

Mr gomes also stated that there were few financial implications due to the increase of no of wards
