05/07/2014 …. Tourism minister dilip parulekar on Friday said that the state government would not allow drishti life savings pvt ltd to thrown any goans out from their jobs and employ outside people in goa as life guards and could terminate the contract of drishti if they try to do so

Addressing media persons in his office at the secretariat at porvorim tourism minister dilip parulekar said that if the management of dristhi life savings pvt ltd were saying that they were smart and goans were lazy then there was no need of drishti management to work in the state thus throwing goan boys out of their services

Parulekar said that he was fully behind the goan boys and would not allow drishti at any cost to throw goans out of their jobs

04/07/2014 ….Taking his moral responsibility of the recent held lok sabha elections in the state where in the state congress party lost both his seats to bjp the state congress party president john Fernandes seems to have already placed his resignation from his party president ship post to his central party leaders and the same is to be decided by the a k Anthony committee which is being appointed to study the congress party poll debacle in the country

it may be noted that the recent held lok sabha elections had been a nightmare for the state congress party where in both his candidates ravi naik in north goa and reginaldo lourenco in south goa had lost to bjp candidates while in various other states the congress party was unable to conquer some of the major seats across the country thus reaching to a mere margin of just 44 seats in the parliament …

the congress party had appointed a committee headed by former Defence Minister AK Antony to study the Congress’ recent poll debacle on some of the states in the country who would later submitted its report to party president Sonia Gandhi.

In regard to this on last Wednesday mr Antony met state PCC chief along with CLP leader, lok Sabha candidates of the state congress party and discussed various issues to find out as what went wrong in the Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking to goanreporter gpcc president john Fernandes said that various issues of poll debacle was discussed in the meet and he had also informed the committee members that the state party was not revamped after the state congress party had suffered a huge defeat in state assembly elections too

Fernandes said after the party had lost both the seats in goa he had offered his resignation to mr digvijay singh taking moral responsibility of one seat defeat in the state and the decision on the same would be taken when the Anthony committee submits its report to the congress president

Unable to identify the ancient churches of old goa Locals from old goa and surrounding villages recently made a memorandum to the minister for state for tourism and culture shirpad naik over the issue of replacing the Archeological Survey of India plaque situated at old goa with the name of the famous old goa se cathedral de santa catarina church …

In a letter submitted to the central minister for state, tourism and culture shirpad naik social activist Baptist Pereira stated that the church of se cathedral church at old goa was one of the oldest and the most celebrated building in Goa and also the largest Church in Asia

Archeological Survey of India was the guardian for Protecting & Maintaining the heritage monuments and its surrounding areas in old goa, the same had eventually has oppressed the venerable premises of the world heritage monument like Se Cathedral by installing their huge engraved granite name plaque in centre of Se Cathedral property which had on number of occasions made it difficult for worldwide tourist to find out the exact location of se cathedral church

mr Pereira urged the Hon. Minister to look into this matter and act accordingly as the Government of Goa was also keen in exploring the forthcoming exposition of St. Francis Xavier worldwide.

The state ncp party has said that the hue and cry of Muthalik, bikini culture, pub culture was a well planned strategy of the state Govt so as to divert the attention of Govt failure on all fronts.
Addressing media persons at the party head office in Panjim ncp spokesperson trojano dmello said that the high price rise of petrol, diesel, onions, LPG, sugar etc was crushing the aam aadmi and the present Chief Minister defence of PWD Minister’s remark exposed the strategy of diverting attention.
Trojano said “Chief Minister who has a habit of blaming media once again said that PWD Minister was distorted and It is surprising the PWD Minister has not charged the Press by his press conference, Since when the Chief Minister of Goa became President of Press Council of India

other points which ncp narrated in their press conference were startling revolution was that the Chief Minister remarked that corruption ws going on in the P.W.D. A Chief Minister’s remark of such nature is done with full knowledge as to who are involved in the corruption.
This was retorted by the P.W.D. Minister by saying that Home Dept., Accounts Dept. also held by the Chief Minister was also corrupt and went on to further say that 20% of burocrat are corrupt everywhere.

They are on record to say that 20% of the bureaucrats are corrupt. Does this means that is the remaining 80% corruption that is going onis done by the Ministers and members of ruling party.

The Policy announced on Medium of Instruction is not an education policy but rather a policy of suppressing the children of the state of quality education as laid down by the Supreme Court.

The grant in aid given to the Minorities school who will teach English as a medium is nothing new as the right of the Minorities institution to run and manage the school of their choice is a right guaranteed under the constitution.

FORCE which spearheaded a movement demanding that parents’ have right to chose medium of instruction have betrayed parents of private English medium school.

The Chief Minister announcement that he is likely to increase water tariff i.e. bring down the slab from 25 m3 to 20 m3 is once again hitting hard at the low middle class citizen of the State. It is a cruel joke that the Chief Minister has on one hand decreased petrol prices of which 75% of consumption of petrol is by the higher middle class and the high class.

NCP suggest that if the Chief Minister is interested in increasing revenue of the PWD water supply then the Govt. should fixed meter to all bore well in industrial estate as underground water is state wealth.

The present drought is unprecedented in the several decades and this has jeopardised the marginal farmer that exist in Goa. As such NCP demands a package be created for farmers who are facing and bound to face heavy losses.

02/07/2014 … Members of the government of india navigation employees union, goa branch on Tuesday called off their one day strike after the officials of the river navigation department assured to solve various problems put forth by the rive navigation department employees union before the labour commissioner

It may be noted that the government of India navigation employees union which is affiliated to all india trade union congress had served a strike notice to be held on Wednesday on account of the failure of the river navigation department government of goa to resolve their long pending demands such as overtime wages of the flotilla staff, stiching allowances of last eight years, service conditions of sailors asking them to perform duties as ticket collectors, leave sanctioning pattern of flotilla staff, finalization of duty roaster, deployment of additional sailors and harassment and victimization of the flotilla staff by workshop superintendent mr vikramsingh raje bhosle …

On Monday the matter was heard before the labour commissioner along with the representatives of river navigation department and representatives of the government of India navigation employees union, goa branch and it was unanimously resolved by the concerned department to solve the problems of the employees of river navigation department due to which the proposed strike had been called off ..

02/07/2014 … Due to a short circuit, fire and smoke broke out inside the old studio of doordarshan Kendra in Panjim on Tuesday afternoon thus resulting in to lakhs of rupees loss …

Incidentally no loss of life was reported from the site incident which took place in the afternoon as the old doordarshan studio was not being used by the dd staff for any activities and was kept closed for the past few years

Around thirty Officials of the city fire station were put in to service with four fire tenders to put off the fire which and smoke which was seen coming out from the fall ceiling of the old studio …

The fire officials were seen putting lot of efforts to keep a control on the smoke fire for which fire officials made holes inside the studio wall thus breaking it …

02/07/2014 … Office of the entertainment society of goa was left empty on Tuesday after contract of the 20 employees who have been working in the state esg office got expired on Monday 30th june …

It may be noted that out of the twenty office staff some of the staff have been working in the esg office from 2004 and earlier on contract system and their contract was renewed after every six months..

Surprisingly the same staff used to work in certain areas such as public relations, coordination, transport, film programming, marketing and other related areas in the past few years and had experience of handling events like the yearly international film festival of India being held every year in goa.

After the contract of the 20 office staff had expired on last Monday the only staff that was working in the esg office were chief executive office, manager of accounts, and accountant who had been on deputation in esg from other government departments …
