OBSERVANCE OF 26TH INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE &ILLICIT TRAFFICKING.

Panaji, June 24,  2017 … Anti Narcotic Cell of Goa Police has organized various programmes to spread awareness about drugs on the occasion of ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’ on June 26, with various programmes in association with social organizations, school children and also with Government Departments to make it more meaningful.

 The ANC organised a drawing/painting competition for High School students at Gazeted Officers Institute, Altinho, Panaji on june 22, 2017. An elocution competition for Higher Secondary School students had been organized at Gazeted Officers Institute, Altinho, Panaji on June 23, 2017.

Anti-Narcotic Cell in association with Goa Tourism Development Corporation ltd. has organized 10 kms run/marathon on June 25, 2017 starting from Odxel Junction, Taleigaon to Divja Circle, Panaji under the title ‘ Run Against Narcotic Drugs’.  The route of the run is from Odxel Junction, Taleigaon – Dona Paula Circle- Science Centre-Miramar-Campal Market-Ferry Point-Fajanta-Dovja Circle.  The three winners in male & female category will be awarded with cash prize of Rs.10,000/-, Rs.6000/-, Rs.4000/-, trophies and commendation certificates.

The ANC has also  organized a rally/march of school students from Kala Academy Campal, Panaji to Ferry Point, Panaji on June 26, 2017. The students will assemble at Kala Academy, Campal Panaji at about 09.30 hrs.  At about 10.00 hrs they will march towards Ferry Point.  The rally will then culminate into a gathering at Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji at 10.30 hrs. The experts in the field Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Oncologist have been invited to deliver lecture to the students on the topic ‘Ill Effects of Drugs’.  A short documentary film will be screened depicting the Ill Effect of Drugs Abuse’.  The students from different schools will participate in the programme.  A prize distribution ceremony of different events organized by Anti Narcotic Cell will be held at the function. Mrs. Hema Sardessai Goan Pop singer has consented to be the chief guest for said function.

 On June 27, 2017 the ANC has organised Rally/march of school and college students from St. Anthony Chapel Calangute to Calangute Association hall via Titto followed by function at Calangute Association hall jointly organized by village Panchayat Calangute, Lions Club of Calangute, Junior chamber of Calangute, Calangute Foundation and Samrat Club of Calangute. The rally will commence at 09.30 hrs from St. Anthony Chapel Calangute.

CM FELICITATES MERITORIOUS STUDENTS

Panaji, June 23,  2017 … The Chief Minister, Shri. Manohar Parrikar, has stressed on the importance of reading while speaking at a function held today  at his official residence, Altinho, where students who have excelled at the tenth examination 2017 conducted by Goa Board were felicitated.

 The Chief Minister further said that reading helps students get a clearer perspective on life and on the choices they have to make.

Recalling his days studying at the prestigious IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), the Chief Minister in the informal interaction with the students, who were accompanied by their parents, emphasized the importance of having adequate financial resources to go for further studies. He brought to the notice of the students how the government, through schemes, was giving financial assistance to those who wish to pursue further studies both in Goa and outside the state. 

The Chief Minister also spoke to the students of the government’s future plans to introduce courses in different disciples in the state.

ONLINE APPLICATION FOR CENTRAL SECTOR SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

 Panaji, June 22,  2017 ….  Online application for Central Sector Scholarship for College and University Students  in the year 2017.

Further are  the guidelines or steps to apply for the scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal scholarships.gov.in for student doing Degree course.

Aadhar No. is required for hassle free disbursement of all Government subsidies/scholarships. In case of not having Aadhar, student should apply and have Aadhar within 3 months of application for scholarship, Student should have a bank account in a nationalized bank. Aadhar must be seeded in the bank account, the period for online application is from 01st July 2017 to 30th September 2017.

Steps to Register on National Scholarship Portal are Enter scholarships.gov.in in your browser, Click on new User? Register button, Enter relevant details in the form, Scholarship type should bePost-Matric, Enter Correct Aadhar number, mobile no. and email-id and Captcha is nothing but a string of numbers appearing in red, which you have to enter in Captcha field, After checking the details, click on register. An application id beginning with GA2017will be displayed. (Please note this id for future use.)

Steps to login to the portal to apply for the scholarship are Enter scholarships.gov.in in your browser , Click on Login to Apply button, Enter the application id, date of birth and Captcha to login, After a successful login, you will be able to see your name on screen and on the left hand menu, click on application form, fill the correct details and submit the form. And do as directed by the portal.

Eligible students can also apply for other scholarship schemes on the same portal.

Please note that the cut off percentage for the Central Sector Scheme for College and University Student scholarship in different categories is displayed on www.gbshse.gov.in

RAKSHAK PURASKARS TO BE PRESENTED ON I. DAY

Panaji, June 21, 2017 … The State Rakshak Puraskars Award instituted by Directorate of Women and Child Development will  be presented to only two persons on the Independence Day i.e August 15, 2017 with an aim to encourage and motivate all to bestow respect and dignity to women in society in the State of Goa.

As per the eligibility criteria, any person who has shown exceptional courage in coming to aid, protecting or helping the victims or in dealing with the victims of any type of violence against women and girls at home, in the workplace and everywhere in the public domain. The person from any walk of life who applies for the award should be a resident of Goa for the last 5years as on January 1, 2017. he/she should not receive any other award for the same purpose and he/she should be above 25 years of age as on January 1, 2017.

Eligible persons may submit their applications in soft copy (CD-in word format) and hard print in the prescribed format available in the Directorate complete in all respect alongwith enclosures, if any on or before July 3, 2017

The applications for the “RAKSHAK PURASKAR” Awards may be submitted in the office of the Directorate of Women and Child Development, Old Education Bldg. 2nd floor, 18th June Road, Panaji-Goa 403001.

SHRI GODINHO CALLS FOR INVOLVEMENT OF PANCHAYATS MEMBERS IN SWACHH BHARAT MISION

 June 20, 2017 …  The newly-elected Panchayats members from the Marmugao Taluka has administered oath by Shri Deepak Vaingaonkar, Block Development Officer of  Marmugao at Chicalim Panchayat Hall.

The oath taking ceremony was attended by Minister for Panchayat, Shri Mauvin Godinho,Smt.Alina Saldanha, MLA and Chairman of Goa Rehabilitation Board, Shri Wilfred D’sa, MLA,Smt.Sandhya Kamat, Director  of  Directorate of Panchayats, Shri  Sebastiao Pereira, Chicalim Sarpanch, and Shri Kamla Prasad Yadav,Deputy Sarpanch were also present.

Shri. Godinho while  addressing the gathering congratulated all the newly elected sarpancha’s and Deputy Sarpancha’s.He  expressed happiness that most of the people elected  for local self/Government bodies are educated. He apprised them about their responsibilities and added saying that all the Sarpancha’s  and all the Panchayat Members should involved themselves in   Swachh Bharat Mision to make it successful.

NEED TO BUILD QUALITY AND CHARACTER –CM

Panaji: June 19, 2017 …. The Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar has called for the need to build quality and character in the society and this should be treated as the core issues by the educational institutions. The stakeholders of educational sector will have onus   of   failure or success of  educational system he added.

The Chief Minister was speaking as the Chief Guest at the fumction of  celebration of 109th anniversary of Dnyanprassarak Mandals and inauguration of Courses of M.A in (English) and M.Sc ( Organic Chemistry ) for D.Ms College of Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational Studies at Assagao Bardez today.

.  The Chief Minister about civic sense has  said is needed to be inculcated among the students making them to emerge as good citizens of the society. They have to be educated from primary level regarding traffic rules, maintaining cleanliness of surrounding etc.

The Water Resources Minister Shri Vinod Palyenkar while addressing at the function insisted upon the importance of values and virtues in human life. He said for any society to progress and prosper is not possible without peace and harmony. Therefore   he said our future generation have  to be nourished well with values, righteousness and ideals where in the role of institutions like schools and colleges is important he opined.

CHIEF MINISTER INAUGURATES NCS MEGA JOB FAIR

Panaji , June 18,  2017 … The Chief Minister, Shri. Manohar Parrikar Inaugurated NCS Mega Job Fair organized by the Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment, Regional Employment Exchange, Model Career Centre, Panaji-Goa at Don Bosco Oratory Hall today.

 A total of 70 reputed companies from private sector are participate in Mega Job Fair and around 2000 vacancies are on offer to jobseekers at the Job Fair. Vacancies are available for both fresher’s as well as experienced jobseekers. Job openings are available in different fields like IT, pharmacy, management, engineering, hospitality, retail etc.

There are job opportunities for diploma holders, graduates and post-graduates as well as for ITI trainees and school dropouts. Bosch, Cipla, Unichem Laboratories, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, IFB, Videocon, Persistent Systems, Commscope (Andrew Telecommunications), Marriott Resort, Park Hyatt and Manipal Hospitals are among the list of employers participated in the Job Fair.

CHIEF MINISTER PAYS HOMAGE TO MARTYRS ON OCCASION OF GOA REVOLUTION DAY

Panaji, June 17, 2017 …On the eve of Goa Revolution Day the Chief Minister Shri. Manohar Parrikar has paid  his sincere homage to the Martyrs, because of whom it was possible for us to live in dignity and be masters of our destiny.

 In his message, Shri. Parrikar said, ” The freedom struggle of Goa entered its last and final phase when Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia gave a clarion call to people of the state to unite and fight against the colonial rule on June 18, 1946 from Margao.”

  The historic day is celebrated as `Goa Kranti Din` to recollect the saga of the struggle of the people of Goa for freedom. The importance of the day could be judged from the fact that the uprising not only shook the foundation of the alien rule, but eventually it led to the liberation of Goa on December 19, 1961, Chief Minister said.

MERIT BASED AWARD FOR SC STUDENTS

Panaji , June 15,  2017 … The Government is implementing a scheme titled “Merit Based Award for SC Students”. The objective of the scheme is to motivate students by giving merit based award based on the benchmark of the performance and to provide financial incentive to high performing students who are economically weak. The scheme is implemented through the Directorate of Social Welfare.

          Applications are invited from Scheduled Caste students who has passed Xth and XIIth March 2017 exam and who fulfill eligibility criteria such as students securing marks in the range (between 50% to 59.99%) will be given a financial award of Rs. 5,000/-, students securing marks in the range (between 60% to 69.99%) will be given a financial award of Rs. 8,000), students securing marks in the range (between 70& to 74.99%) will be given a financial award of Rs. 10,000/-and students securing 75% marks and above will be given a financial award of Rs. 15,000.

          Under the scheme, the annual family income of scheduled caste students shall not exceed Rs.2 Lakhs, amongst schedule caste students first five rank holders of SSC, first five rank holders of HSSC board exams (separately for all the streams of Science, Commerce, Arts and Vocational) will be felicitated in public function.

          The eligible applicant should submit the application by July 31, 2017 in the office of the Directorate of Social Welfare, Panaji.
