It may be noted that the nuvem mla micky Pacheco who also runs event management company Bresources Event Management had recently anouced of organizing an Electronic Dance Music festival in south goa on 27^th 28^th and 29^th of December the days when the sunburn event is supposed to be held in the state so as to compete with the sun burn event

 Recently the Tourism minister Dilip Parulekar had also stated that he was not in favour of Sunburn, an annual electronic dance music festival, being held in Candolim as the event caused traffic jams and inconvenience to the people of Candolim due to which the venue of sunburn could be shifted to south or stay in north goa..

 Speaking to media reporters porvorim mla rohan khaunte said he was happy to know that goans were also coming forward in organizing such type of big festival in to the state

 Rohan said that it was sad to note that the organizers of sun burn had taken the state government for granted and had also started selling his tickets before the permission could be given for the event

17-09-2013 … In a bid to promote setting up of garbage treatment sites in state village panchayat’s the directorate of panchayats has given over administrative approvals to over 24 village panchayat’s all over goa …

According to the directorate of panchayat’s office there are more than hundred village panchayats out of 190 panchayat’s who have identified garbage treatment site in their respective village panchayats

Speaking to goanreporter directorate of panchayats narayan sawant said Through the garbage management scheme his office had asked village panchayats to identify their respective sites and as per our report around 100 plus panchayats have identified their sites though it was not finalized ……

Commenting over the changes in the amendment rules to the goa panchayat raj act sawant said that the amendments were in the final stage where in there was a suggestion to give the delimitation process to the state election commission on which the government has considered and were working on it

Sawant also stated that certain amendments would also be brought at the gram Sabha which were very important at panchayat level as the gram sabhas were very important for the people to play a very important role in the development of the village

11-09-2013 … Even though two months are left for the state to hold the 44^th international film festival of india in goa officials of the corporation city of Panjim have already chalked out their plans of tackling the garbage issue for the up-coming iffi festival 2013 ….

It may be noted that last year the Corporation of the City had tackled the garbage issue in a different way and for the first time, CCP has decided to do away with use of plastic at the film festival banning the use of plastic at the venue and directing the stall owners to use only metal or melamine plates which could be washed and reused.

Every year around four tonnes of garbage is being generated during the film festival inside the city jurisdiction while Garbage bins are normally installed at various points and staff being deputed to guide the delegates during the festival too.

Last year the corporation has received Rs ten lakh to collect garbage generated during the festival,

Speaking to goanreporter ccp commissioner sanjit rodrigues said ccp would follow the same procedure which was done last year the four way segregation of waste at various place along with city bajao campaign during the film festival

Sanjit said that all ccp garbage management rules would be made applicable also during the iff festival too this year

Having already finalised the Deendayal infrastructure scheme for village panchayats in the state of goa the state government is all set to notify the scheme in the next few days according to director of panchayats narayan sawant.

It may be noted that the scheme would enable village panchayats in the state to undertake projects like construction of new panchayat ghars, parks, market complex, jogging tracks, shopping complexes, crematoriums, recreation centers etc as the scheme has been formulated with the aim to create necessary and enduring infrastructure for village panchayats in Goa.

Speaking to goanreporter director of panchayats narayan sawant said Under this scheme every panchayat would be provided a maximum amount of one crore for setting up an infrastructure development project in a village and the project would be taken up by the agency like gsidc or another agency ..

Sawant said se as per the scheme the project would be decided by the panchayat as what type of project they want while the executing agency would be gsidc or other agency to have a good quality project and also could be audited by village also but we want it to be a quality project

Sawant also stated that such projects were needed to go through gram Sabha
