A, power shut down has been arranged on June 25, 2024 from 09:30 am to 05:00 pm on 400KVA Almeida Transformer, Althino Panaji, to carry out maintenance works. The affected areas are BSNL Quarters, Polytechnic Quarters, Department of Factories and Boilers, Ganesh Prasad Building, Varuna Building, Army Guest house and nearby surrounding areas, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.

A, power shut down has been arranged on June 23, 2024 from 08.00 am to 02.00 pm on 11KV Industrial, Lokmat, Smartlink, Herald, Tulip, Verna, Cortalim OH, Quelossim UG, Nagoa, Jordan, Oxynitro and 11KV IFB, to carry out urgent / emergency maintenance work. Affected areas are Verna, Nagoa, Cortalim, Quelossim and Verna IDC.

Similarly, a power shut down has been arranged on June 23, 2024 from 08.00 am to 02.00 pm on 33KV Sancoale-1, Microlab, Finolex, Coca cola, Watson, Molbios, Lupin, Birla and 33KV Pwd to carry out urgent / emergency maintenance work. Affected areas are Verna IDC, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.

The Government of Goa has declared Sunday, June 23, 2024 (Ashadha 2, Saka 1946) as a “paid holiday”, being the “Polling Day”  for the Bye election to 12-Benaulim Zilla Panchayat Constituency of South Goa Zilla Panchayat in the State of Goa and Bye election to Ward No. VII of Village Panchayat Cundaim, Ward No.II of Village Panchayat Volvoi, Ward No. XI of Village Panchayat Borim, Ward No.III of Village Panchayat Querim of Taluka Ponda and Ward No.V of Village Panchayat Rachol, Ward No. II of Village Panchayat Seraulim, Ward No.I of Village Panchayat Assolna of Taluka Salcete and Ward No.II of Village Panchayat Xeldem, Taluka Quepem, South Goa District and Ward No.II of Village Panchayat Cudnem, Taluka Bicholim and Ward No.X of Village Panchayat Socorro, Taluka Bardez, North Goa District in the State of Goa.

The aforesaid paid holiday shall be in addition to the holidays indicated in the Government Notification No.37/4/2023-GAD-III/3993 dated 25/10/2023, published in the Official Gazette, Series II No. 31, dated 02/11/2023, to the following workers, provided they are the voters for the aforesaid bye election:-

Industrial workers of the state of Goa, Daily wage workers of the Government Departments and State Government Industrial Departments, Commercial and industrial workers of private establishments in the State of Goa, Workers of all private establishments and Daily wage/casual workers employed in any business, trade, industrial undertakings or any other establishments.

The Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Goa, sponsors 2 students for B.Tech (Agri.Engg.) at Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan krishi Vidhyapeeth, (DBSKKV), Dapoli, Ratnagiri in Maharashtra State. In this context the Directorate of Agriculture (DOA) has invited applications from eligible students interested in seeking admission for B.Tech (Agri. Engg.). Interested students may apply to the Directorate of Agriculture. Krishi Bhavan, Tonca Caranzalem, Goa. The Selection of candidates will be based on JEE (MAIN) result for admission to B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering).

The Goa Education Development Corporation (GEDC) is implementing the Interest Free Education Loan (IFEL) scheme since the year 2005. The Scheme for the year 2023-24 was opened on November 27, 2023 and the last date for submission of fresh and renewal forms was February 29, 2024. Due to model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections in force the date of submission of forms could not be extended. Many students have approached the Corporation as they could not submit the forms in time.

Now, since the model code of conduct has been lifted the Goa Education Development Corporation has decided to extend the scheme till July 09, 2024.

Interested students may apply for the IFEL loan (Fresh and Renewal) by downloading the forms from the GEDC website www.gedc-goa.org and submit the same to the Corporation along with the relevant documents on or before July 09, 2024.
