GOA PAVILION INAUGURATED AT IITF, NEW DELHI

Panaji:- November 14, 2016 … The Goa pavilion setup at the 36thedition of the India International Trade Fair was inaugurated today at the iconic PragatiMaidan in the national capital New Delhi by Shri. Rohit Kadam, Jt. Director, Department of Information & Publicity,in the distinguished presence of Mr. Ashok Rane, Director of the Department of Industries, Trade & Commerce, Mr. Umesh Chandra Joshi, Managing Director, GIDC and Mr. Prakash Naik, Information Officer of Department of Information and Publicity.

India International Trade Fair is the biggest trade fair of the country organized by the India Trade Promotion Organization which will conclude on 27th Nov. 2016.Department of Information Publicity, Department of Tourism, Goa Industrial Development Corporation, Directorate of Industries, Goa Handicrafts Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation, Infotech Corporation of Goa and Department of Information and Technology are the participating departments in the fair.

The Goa Pavilion inauguration was marked by cutting of the ribbon followed by the lighting of the traditional ceremonial lamp. The Government of Goa unveiled a consolidated brochure incorporating the details of various schemes and facilities offered by the various participating departments and also giving an insight of the future plans of the government.The Brochure speaks for itself by promoting Goa as a state of opportunities. The invitees and the guests witnessed various astounding live folk dance performances by folk artists from Goa. At IITF Continental Technology Solutions, Goa launched their biometric locker solution products which are suitable for multiple businesses looking for smart keyless locker solutions.

Goa has followed this year’s theme of the fair “Digital India” by displaying various panels disseminating information on IT scenarios in Goa and future plans to promote IT in the state. Chief Minister Shri. LaxmikantParsekar has conveyed his message to Goa pavilion which reads “Goa is one of the most advanced states in the country. Let us lead India into a digital future” along with the best wishes to all the participating departments of the state of Goa. The pavilion is designed to project and depict Goan village that will attract the attention of the investors looking at peace of mind striking a balance between work and family life.

It may be noted that the state Government is participating in this annual mega trade fair every year with Department of Information and Publicity as the nodal agency with an objective to showcase the progress and development made by the Government in varied sectors and also to project Goa as an investment destination and ensure the growth of tourism sector.
