Goan Reporter: Goa Revolution Day Celebrated At Kranti Maidan, Ponda

Paying rich tributes to the memory of known and unknown freedom fighters who shed their blood for the Liberation of Goa, Minister for Agriculture Shri Ravi Naik recalled the immense contribution made by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia a great Nationalist and freedom fighter to liberate Goa from foreign regime.

Addressing the people at Kranti Maidan, Ponda on the occasion of Goa Revolution Day Shri Naik highlighting the significance of Kranti Maidan in the freedom struggle movement of Goa said that the celebration of Goa Revolution Day every year helps to create greater awareness among the people, more particularly the student community.

Shri Naik said Liberation helped the State to make noteworthy development in almost all the sectors – be it in education, infrastructure, culture, sports and health and that also some social organizations and  service institutions came into existence.

Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi our country has successfully carried out Operation Sindoor thus showing the fighting spirit of the Nation. Our national policy of unity in diversity also plays a vibrant role in nation building, Shri Naik added.  The Minister praised our State’s continuous success and remarked that our Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, following the footsteps of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is working hard to achieve Goa’s overall development in all sectors including making it self-reliant. He solicited people’s support and cooperation to yield desired results.

Students from different High Schools of Ponda presented patriotic songs on the occasion.

Earlier, Agriculture Minister Shri Ravi Naik and other dignitaries placed wreaths at Martyrs Memorial  and paid  homage.

On his arrival at Kranti Maidan the Agriculture Minister was received by Shri Vishal Kundaikar, Additional Collector and Shri  Shubham Naik Dy. Collector.
