Goan Reporter News: Assistance under schemes of directorate of Agriculture

The Directorate of Agriculture is fully geared up for the upcoming kharif season. Vegetable seeds are made available at all the Taluka Level offices on 50% Subsidy, Planting material like Coconut Seedlings, Mango Grafts, Chikoo, Guava, lime, Spices, Nutmeg, etc are also available in Government Agriculture Farms at reasonable prices.

The farmers interested in going for commercial cultivation can avail the subsidy of Rs.50,000/- per ha for Coconut Cultivation,Rs.1,20,000/- per ha for Cultivation of Banana, Pineapple, Papaya and Rs.60,000/- per Ha for cultivation of Mango, Chikoo, Nutmeg, cashew, Kokam, Guava etc. The Department is also providing the subsidy of Rs.20,000/- for replacing old deceased senile cashew trees with planting of new cashew grafts.

Paddy seeds of Jaya and Jyoti Varieties are available with the seeds dealers in every Taluka on 50% subsidy. The 50% subsidized rate is Rs.700/- for 25 Kg bags of Jaya variety and Rs.675/- for 25 Kg bags of   Jyoti variety. Karjat variety of paddy is also available @ subsidized rate of Rs.687/- per bag of 25 kg.

The Government is providing 50% assistance on hire charges towards hiring of tractors for ploughing for land preparation.                  

For availing assistance under any scheme of the Directorate of Agriculture, the farmers may approach the concerned taluka level Zonal Agriculture office.
