Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant laid foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers office building, in the presence of Minister for Factories and Boilers Shri Nilkanth Halarnkar and Shri Sanjit Rodrigues IAS, Secretary Factories and Boilers today at Altinho, Panjim.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister highlighted the imperative to reinforce the structure of the existing severely deteriorated building. Chief Minister informed that the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) Ltd would undertake the 10-crore project, slated for completion within two years. Emphasizing the transformation, the Chief Minister assured a state-of-the-art office facility.
Highlighting the Department’s commitment to workers safety and medical training, the Chief Minister revealed plans for a well-equipped building with a laboratory training institute. He also underscored the department’s efforts to streamline procedures, implementing online applications for an expedited and efficient process in line with the ease of doing business initiative. Chief Minister reiterated the paramount focus on workers and factory safety in their endeavours.
Shri Nilkanth Halarnkar stated that the building has been strategically designed to cater to the present as well as future needs of the department. The department is committed to ensuring a workplace free from any tragic incidents.
