The Directorate of Health will be celebrating International Day of the Girl Child on October 11, 2023 at Auditorium of Institute of Menezes Braganza at 10.00 a.m. onwards.
The declining number of girls in our population is a matter of great concern. One of the reasons is the practice of Gender Biased Sex Selection. To keep an eye on this evil practice the government has launched the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme and PCPNDT Act. The mindset of the people should be changed towards a girl child.
Also as a part of celebration, the competitions will be organized by SFWB, Directorate of Health Services, Panaji.
General public in age of above 20 years can participate in Reel Competition on theme “Amche bai”/ “Humari Beti”/ “Aamchi Mulgi”/ “Our Daughter” Reel has to be uploaded on Facebook / Instagram with# Amche bai and also should be emailed to pcpndtstate.goa@gov.in . Entries to be submitted on or before October 6, 2023. Higher Secondary and College Students can participate in Poster Designing Competition (Digital Version) on theme “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”. Poster has to be uploaded on Facebook / Instagram with # Amche bai and also should be emailed to pcpndtstate.goa@gov.in . Entries to be submitted on or before October 6, 2023 . Results will be declared on October 9, 2023.
The winners of the prizes for the competitions will be awarded the cash prizes, trophies and certificates at the State level function on the celebration of International Day of the Girl on October 11, 2023 at the main hall of the Institute of Menezes Braganza, Panaji at the hands of the Chief Guest.
