Governor of Goa, Shri. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa particularly the Muslim brethren on the occasion of `Eid-ul-Fitr`.
Shri. Pillai in his message, has said that, the festival “Eid -ul-Fitr” marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan which is a holy month of fasting is not only about refraining from food and drink, but is also about abstaining from all evil thoughts, words and action. This festival also symbolizes faith, sacrifice, love, compassion and unity.
The festival “Eid-ul-Fitr” is an appropriate occasion for all of us to remember the great Prophet Mohammed and his noble message of love, peace, brotherhood and tolerance.
May the celebrations of “Eid-ul-Fitr” this year bring added joy, happiness, peace and prosperity to one and all.
