Agriculture Minister, Shri Ravi Naik appealed to the people of Goa to maintain unity irrespective of caste, creed and religion to preserve and protect the hard earned freedom of the country and also to solve unresolved issues collectively. We should keep in mind that we all are Indians and that Unity, he said will help us to forge ahead as one nation and achieve further socio-economic progress of Goa and the country.
Speaking as chief guest after hoisting the national Tri-colour and inspecting the guard of honour on the occasion of 77th Independence Day at historic Kranti Maidan, Ponda today Shri Naik said Independence Day is an appropriate occasion to review the progress made in various sectors and also to recall the supreme Sacrifices of the known and unknown Freedom Fighters who shed their blood for the cause of India’s freedom.
Shri Naik further called upon the people to celebrate the occasion by collectively committing to make India a strong and prosperous country. Goa, he said has laid firm foundations in all sectors of the economy and is marching ahead along with the rest of the country. Central government has contributed for the overall development of Goa, thereby benefiting us tremendously under the able leadership of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Naik added that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is respected all over the world and called upon the people to strengthen his hands to lead our country. He urged all the communities to work together to usher in development.

Jasvinder Singh , ZP’s, Sarpancha’s, Government Officials, Shri Rohidas Naik, Ex-MLA and General Secretary of Freedom Fighters Association, Goa, Freedom Fighters, Shri Narendra Savaikar NRI Commissioner and large number of students.
Students from different High Schools of Ponda presented patriotic songs on the occasion.
Earlier on his arrival at Kranti Maidan, the Agriculture Minister was received by Shri Vishal Kundaikar, Additional Collector, Shri Raghuraj A. Faldesai, Dy. Collector and Shri Suyash Khandeparkar.
