Indian Red Cross Society Goa State Branch today organized a free Eye Checkup camp to mark the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day at Panaji, today. The Camp was held in collaboration with the Ophthalmic Department of Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
During the inaugural session of the Camp Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society Goa State Branch Shri. Gaurish Dhond said that, Indian Red Cross Society has been rendering yeoman services to the mankind. Indian Red Cross is working across the World towards helping humanity. It has significantly contributed in the field of medical aid and health care services to the needy people in the State.
Vice Chairman Shri. Manguirish Pai Raikar informed about various activities and services being conducted and extended by the Indian Red Cross Society for the people in need.
Earlier, to mark the Birth Anniversary of Red Cross Society founder Jean Henry Dunant rich tributes were paid by the dignitaries present.
The theme of Red Cross Day 2024 is `Keeping Humanity Alive`. It was informed that, the Eye Checkup Camp evoked good response, wherein people from different walks of life availed the services of free eye checkup.
General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society Shri. John Aguiar welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks.
