Sesa Football Academy defeated Calangute Association 2-0 to secure a place in the final of the Batora United Curtorim Women’s Festival Soccer Tournament at DSYA Ground, Curtorim, on Tuesday. Rezilla Almeida of Sesa Football Academy opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Christine of Calangute Association missed a chance to equalize in the 15th minute. Rezilla Almeida struck again in the 47th minute, sealing the victory for Sesa Football Academy. The match was graced by Chief Guest Girjadevi Desai, a Physical Education Teacher at Ramacrisna Madeva Salgaocar Higher Secondary School, Margao. She holds an AFC B License and AFC Futsal Level 2 License and is the only woman in India with this futsal certification. She has also served as head coach for IWL teams like Churchill Brothers, as well as the Goa State and Goa University teams. GFA Match Commissioner Francisco Fernandes and other dignitaries were also present at the event. Rezilla Almeida was named Woman of the Match, with the award presented by Girjadevi Desai.
