Goan Reporter News: Two Youth Killed in Hit-and-Run at Paddi, Balli; Bus Traced to Karnataka, Driver Arrested

Two young men lost their lives on the spot in a tragic accident at a sharp turn on NH-66 near Paddi, Balli. The accident involved a bus traveling from Margao to Bangalore and a scooter heading from Paddi to Balli. As the bus entered the sharp turn at Paddi, it collided with the scooter and fled the scene, continuing towards Karnataka. The deceased have been identified as Deelip Velip (38) and Sandesh Gaonkar (26), both residents of Gokuldem, Paddi. Their bodies were shifted to Balli hospital. Cuncolim Police Inspector Diago Gracias and his team arrived at the site, conducted a panchanama, and with the help of eyewitnesses and CCTV footage, traced the bus to Yellapur, Karnataka. The bus was brought to the Cuncolim police station, and the driver, Rajesh Shivolli (55), was arrested.
