Goa is known as the tourist destination all over the world and there is vast scope for skills in hospitality. Owing to the need the Government under National Skills Qualification Framework ( NSQF ) has started the course of Tourism and Hospitality at High School level stated the Director, Department of Education Shri Shailesh Sinai Zingde at the inaugural function celebrating the World Tourism Day at Succor Grampanchayat hall in Bardez Taluka today organised by Goa Samagra Shiksha under National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) programme and under the aegis of Directorate of Education.
Around 500 students who are perusing their studies in Tourism and Hospitality course participated in the event. To mark the celebration model making competition was organized for the students perusing aforesaid course.
Shri Zingde speaking further exhorted the students to analyse what they are good at and avail this opportunity and endeavour to opt for achieving excellence by providing thorough attention in their studies. The competition organized to encourage skill and knowledge should be taken in positive way he suggested. He also appreciated Tourism and Hospitality instructors for their endeavour to organize the function successfully
State Co-ordinator National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) Goa Shri John Silveira said that under National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) the Government has introduced Tourism and Hospitality course at High School level wherein 119 High Schools from all over the State have started the same and it would be extended to 32 more High schools in next year. He impressed upon the students to strive to acquire brilliance by focussing on their studies. He said this course provides employment in various positions in the tourism sector. Thereafter he enlightened the participants about National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

Ankita Agranayak, ZPM Smt Kavita Naik, Sarpanch VP Penha de Franca, Shri Swapnil Chodankar, Sarpanch VP, Succorro Smt Soniya Pednekar, Ward Members of both Village Panchayats, Teachers and Tourism and Hospitality Instructor Mr. Nitesh, Pednekar, from various Schools from all over Goa were present at the function.
