Department of Drinking Water has clarified on circulation of video showing unauthorized entry into Raw Water Tank.

It is stated that a video is being circulated on social media showing the unauthorized entry of a person into a raw water storage tank. It is clarified that the tank shown in the video is a raw water tank. The water stored therein is subsequently subjected to the filtration process at the Water Treatment Plant with necessary dosing of Alum, Chlorine and being stored in clear water tank before being supplied to the public and daily water testing reports of water quality is being maintained in respective office.

Water supply installations are vital public infrastructure, and their safety, security, and hygienic condition are of utmost importance. Unauthorized entry into any water supply tank or related installation is strictly prohibited, as it may compromise the security and hygiene of the water supply system.

Department of Drinking water further informed that no person is permitted to enter the tank without prior authorization and permission from the competent authority. The incident of unauthorized entry has been viewed seriously, and FIR has been lodged in the police station against the unauthorized person for necessary action as per applicable rules and law.

It is further requested that habitants of Keri village do not draw conclusions based solely on the circulated video and refrain from spreading unverified information that may create unnecessary concern regarding the quality and safety of the public water supply.

The Department remains committed to ensuring that water supplied to the public undergoes the required treatment and quality-control procedures before distribution.
