A meeting with the representatives of recognized political parties was held at the Collectorate, North Goa, Panaji, under the chairmanship of the Collector & District Election Officer, North Goa, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, in connection with the forthcoming First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs in North Goa District, with regards to forth-coming assembly elections.
The Collector & DEO briefed the representatives on the FLC process, prescribed procedures, rules and safeguards of the Election Commission of India. A presentation on the FLC process and related guidelines was presented by Shri Safal Shetye, Deputy Collector (Elections), North Goa. The meeting emphasized transparency and strict adherence to the prescribed procedures during the FLC exercise.
The meeting was attended by Representative of RGP, Shri Viresh Borkar; Representative of BJP, Shri Pundalik Raut Dessai; and Representative of INC, Shri E. Altinho Gomes. The Director, Directorate of Higher Education and Nodal Officer for EVMs & VVPATs, Shri Bhushan Savaikar, and Assistant Nodal Officer for EVMs & VVPATs, Shri Abhijeet Nikam, were also present.
