16/01/2016 …. Concerned with the number of goans migrating to Portugal on a Portuguese visa, state government’s alliance partner the Maharashtra gomantak party has asked the Portuguese prime minister to first apologise for the atrocities done on goans by the Portuguese during its colonial rule.
It may be noted that on Friday during the assembly session a congratulatory motion was moved by Congress legislator Alex Reginald Lourenco when Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar fully supported the proposal moved by his deputy Francisco D’Souza to invite him and felicitate for becoming the Portuguese prime minister Prime Minister Antonio Costa, for being a prime minister of Portugal of a Goan by origin …
Speaking over the issue pwd minister and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party leader Sudin Dhawalikar so the portugues prime ministere need to first apologise for the number of goans being killed along with bridges being destroyed during its colonisations in the state
Mr dhavlikar said that it was sad to see that the state was losing the son of its soil due to goans migrating to Portuguese after obtaining Portuguese visa and there was a fear that less goans could be seen in the state assembly too in future
Commenting over the state celebrating the opinion poll day mr dhavvlikar said that the issue of opinion poll was a wrong decision taken up by the chief of Maharashtra gomantak party and then  chief minister dayanand bandodkar due to which goans were now facing the brunt of it
