09-07-2013 … Members of the state nationalist congress party led by its president nilkhant halarnkar and senior vice president jose Philip dsouza on Monday submitted a memorandum to the additional director of education anil powar asking to roll back the decision of extension of school timings in to the state of goa

Addressing media persons after submitting the memorandum to the additional director of education former revenue minister and senior vice president of the state ncp party jose Philip dsouza demanded to roll back the extended timing of the schools which had created chaos and confusion in the schedule of thousand of parents and students in the state

Ncp spokesperson trojano dmello said that the right to education act was a benefit to the students and not to burden the school children such as the extension of school timings which was done without putting proper infrastructure in place first and without taking stake holders in to confidence too …

Meanwhile additional director of education anil powar said that he would put up the issue before the concerned committee which had decision on the extension of the school timings

08-07-2013 … The state congress party would soon move a breach of privilege motion against chief minister manohar parrikar for going against his words on casinos in the last state assembly session where in parrikar had mentioned that he would use casino money for old aged home people along with alzeimers patients and others

Addressing media person congress spokesperson and curtorim mla reginaldo lourenco said that that motion would be moved in next week before the speaker of goa legislative assembly rajendra arlekar due to the change of statements made by the chief minister on casinos issues

Commenting over the casinos issue Reginaldo also alleged that chief minister manohar parrikar was also making all out efforts to get floating casinos in zuari river by conniving with mpt chairman p mara pandiyan and also was in the process of giving a new licenses to start an off shore casino at pebble brook in porvorim belonging to a delhi based group

07-07-2013 … Stating that the issue of crisis moving around the bjp led government were not yet over independent mla from fatorda constituency vijai sardessai on Monday agreed of being approached by certain section of politicians for being a part of the meet where in toppling of the parrikar led government crisis were discussed where in even bjp led mla’s who had a problem with the functioning style of chief minister manohar parrikar were a part of it ….

Speaking exclusively to goanreporter fatorda mla admitted that he was approached by a section of group to be a part of it so as to bring down the parrikar led government but mentioned that it was due to the internal problems of the own bjp party mla’s due to which the present bjp led government were facing crisis situation ….

Sardessai said that the government was in crisis as there were several legislators from the bjp party who were unhappy and had approached him while tie government crisis was not yet over …

Sardessai stated that in the last one month there were many of those from the bjp party itself who had been talking unusual staff and present the state bjp party was no longer a party with a difference

Though not naming any of the bjp mla’s who wanted to be a part of the toppling of the parrikar led government vijai said that there were some of the bjp mla’s who had been vocal in the past

06-07-2013 … while blaming the former chief minister digambar kamat for the down fall of the state congress party in the last assembly elections Former pwd minister Churchill alemao on Friday stated he still had the confidence to gather 3000 to 400 voters in every constituency of south goa till date so as to win the south goal ok Sabha seat if he was given the congress ticket for the south goa loksabha seat

It may be noted that the former pwd minister who had been openly blaming the former chief minister digambar kamat for the downfall of the alemao’s in the last assembly elections has been hoping to vie for the congress ticket for the south goal lokSabha seat for which even the present south goa mp Francisco sardinha and curtorim mla reginaldo lourenco is considered to be in the race ….

Speaking to goanreporter the former pwd minister Churchill alemao said he still had peoples powers along with him where he could gather 3000 to 4000 voters in any of the state constituency till date and therefore it was up to the congress high command to decide on who should be given ticket of the south goa lok Sabha seat for the upcoming lok Sabha elections

Churchill hoped that the recently appointed goa desk inchrage of the state congress party digvijay singh would not listen to those who were trying to butter mr singh with their political tactics while mr singh would tried to revamp the state congress party

Commenting over the last state assembly elections Churchill said that though the goan voters had stood behind the alemao family the former chief minister digambar kamat had created a hurdle for the alemao’s due to which member’s of the alemao family had lost all the four assembly seats in south goa and the state congress party had also been finished off in the state

Stating that the former chief minister digambar kamat and the present chief minister manohar parrikar were two sides of the same coin Churchill also stated that the issue of mining had gone off as chief minister parrikar was least bothered about it …

04-07-2013 … With a view to tackle Solid Waste issues in the village jurisdiction of Corlim ,panch members of the Village Panchayat of Corlim along with  Syngenta Santa Monica Works recently held its awareness on Dry waste recycling which was held at the village panchayat hall of Corlim Village

a number of locals participated in the awareness meet which was organized by the corlim village panchayat members with the support of a sygenta limited company situated in corlim village through its NGO Margdarshak, technical support was provided by (VRecycle) a private waste management services.

 Presently under the Pilot Project wet waste has been daily collected from wards of pda, mangado and other areas with done door to door collection twice a week covering more than 700 to 800 houses and recently has been extend to other wards in the Panchayat.

The aim of this project is to have a clean village free from dry waste by using a sustainable model that has cent collection compliance which is  an environment friendly and assuring almost 100% recycling of recyclables dry-waste.

 Initial address was given by deputy sarpanch of corlim village panchayat victor Pereira who explained the locals as how they would like to collect only dry waste in his ward and asked every local present to generously help the Panchayat in making this Project a success

Sygenta’s Project manager for solid waste management of Corlim village Andrew Dsouza also gave his views on the occasion

 Addressing locals over the issue of waste management consultant Clinton vaz of v-recycle made a presentation on how important it was to separate dry and wet waste after which locals from the village also rasied certain issues in front of the panch members

03-07-2013 … Stating that the views of the goan residents cannot be ignored on the issue of dabolim airport General Secretary of all India congress committee and goa desk in-charge of the state congress party digvijay singh on Wednesday question as weather the dabolim airport had enough strength to take care of the growing traffic that would take place in the coming years with the possibility of growth in the development of the state

Addressing press media after having an interaction with the member of the Pradesh congress committee mr singh said that though there had to be a consensus among the state political parties over the issue of dabolim-mopa one could not predict the growth in air traffic at the dabolim airport and therefore the issue had to be looked in totality

Mr Singh said his party was respective the verdict given by the people of goa in the last state assembly elections and would wow to fight as a constructive opposition taking up issues which consensus people and the development of goa

Singh also stated that his party was for legal mining and also was not interested in any moves to bring down the present bjp led government

Addressing media press conference at the party head office in Panjim south goa mp Francisco sardinha said that if there was a shortage of money in the scheme than there was a need from the state government side to increase daily allowances of the scheme and highlighted the issue of increase of timing hours in the state schools done by the state government was only to punish parents and students from the state

Commenting over the issue of chowgule college Sardinha said that issues separating management, teachers and students should not take place in colleges and asked the state government to intervene in to the matter and solve it as early as possible

Sardinha also commented over the issue of mining, entry tax and sand extraction in the state
