Panaji: July 11, 2015 …. District Collector and Chairman of District Consumer Protection Council for South District, Shri Sachin Shinde stressed the need for voluntary participation of people to create awareness of the various rights of the consumers and called for using of the various mediums to create awareness of the urgent issues in a mass scale.
Shri Shinde stated this while discussing the various issue concerning different department pertaining to consumers, at the council meeting held at Margao, yesterday.
The District Collector directed the officials to ensure that they display their service delivery board, prominently, detailing therein the timeline mandated to deliver all their services for the knowledge and making the public aware of their rights.
Shri Shinde also favoured the online system to address grievances specifically the Electricity consumers and directed the officials to incorporate the public grievance portal on their existing website.
The members of the consumer forums raised various issues that affected the common person for which they were directions to address and minimize the same.
Director, Civil Supplies Consumer Affairs and Member Secretary of the Council; senior central and state government officials and representatives of various consumer forums were present for the meeting.
