Under the scheme a Goan student will get financial help to pursue higher education and technical education courses within the state if their parents’ annual income does not exceed 3 lakh per annum. The ‘bursary scheme’ is available for students pursuing professional education or even a regular post-graduation.

The scheme will be operated through Goa Education Development Corporation.
 
The maximum amount of grant will be restricted to 40,000 per annum. Only those cases where the total course fee does not exceed 60,000 per annum will be considered under the bursary scheme.
 
The actual grant given to a student under the scheme would be calculated on the basis of the fees paid for each of the course/program and will be limited to the payment of fees and other charges given to the College/Institution.
The beneficiary of the scheme or the student should have completed his std Xth and XIIth and graduation in case of post Graduation students from an institution in Goa.
For benefit under the scheme, in case of post graduate course, the requirement of graduate degree from college/ university from Goa, will be relaxed for degree from Central University, NIIT, IIT, IIM & other statutorily created Institutions
