TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME HELD AT APNA GHAR

Panaji: August 6, 2017 ….  The Tiswadi Legal Service Committee in collaboration with the North Goa Juvenile Justice Board with guidance from Hon’ble Juvenile Justice Committee of the High Court organized a Tree Plantation and Justice Committee of the High Court organized a “Tree Plantation and Kitchen Gardening Programme” for the Children of Apana Ghar at Merces.

          The Chief Guest for the function was Shri Irshad Aga, Principal and Session Judge North Goa Panaji, Ms Pooja C. Kavlekar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Panaji and Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board, North, MS Ruhi Redkar, Director of Women and Child Development, Panaji and Ms. Shabnam Shaikh, Secretary, North Goa District Legal Service Authority.

The objective of this drive was to create awareness amongst  the children about environment and tree plantation and further to initiate love and interest in activities of kitchen gardening . The idea is to grow fresh vegetables in the precincts of Apna Ghar and use the same in its kitchen.

The dignitaries and children of Apna Ghar planted samplings and seeds from the kitchen gardening kit produced by Directorate of Agriculture. They were guided by Shri Rudresh Kambli, Asst. Agriculture Officer and Smt. Shobham Ugvekar, Dy. Project Director, Ella Farm, Old Goa.
