The draft football policy was unveiled by the chief minister while inaugurating the first Goa International Football Table-GIFT 2013, which was organized by Goa Football Development Council in the presence of guest of honour and actor sunil shetty, gfdc chairman dr rufino monteiro, chairman of demp group of companies srinivas dempo, executive director of sports authority of goa Elvis gomes and others

The two day conference titled gift will have an array of speakers who will give their insights on vital topics such as Infrastructure, Talent Development; Community Development/Social Up-liftment, Marketing & Sponsorship and The Professionals.

 The draft policy released by Chief Minister revolves around talent, competitions, coaching, infrastructure and revenue

 Speaking on the occasion chief minister Manohar Parrikar said that Football was a sport which could help you to show determination, hard work, endurance, team spirit, coordination and it is both an individual as well as a team sport …

 Guest of honour and actor Sunil shetty said that there was unbelievable talent in the country and the game of football was one kind of it

 Meanwhile Chairman of goa football development council said Dr. Rufino Monteiro, Chairman, expressed his gratitude towards the Honorable Chief Minister for his dedication and commitment in making football the official sport of the state, not just in words but also in action.

14-march-2013 …  Leaders of various political parties led by adv. Aires Rodrigues on Thursday strongly criticized the state government decision to select Justice B. Sudershan Reddy as the Goa Lokayukta which the political party leaders have opposed tooth and nail and has even decided to challenge the order in the high court.

The press conference was attended amongst others by Trajano D’Mello of NCP, Sudip Tamankar of the Congress, Rajesh Marathe of the Shiva Sena, Floriano Lobo of the Goa Suraj Party and Tara Kerkar of Savera.

Addressing a press conference at Panaji in the presence of leaders of various political parties and NGOs, Adv. Rodrigues strongly criticized Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for manipulating the appointment of an Yes-man Lokayukta and urged Goa Governor BV Wanchoo not to administer the oath to Justice Sudershan Reddy as the Goa Lokayukta which is scheduled for March 16^th.

Mentioning about the need for having a sturdy and a non-partisan Goa lokayukta.

Adv. Rodrigues stated that the selection of Justice Sudershan Reddy will be legally challenged besides taking the issue to the people’s Court for not being transparent and in accordance with law.

Adv. Rodrigues also demanded that Justice Sudershan Reddy should explain to the people of Goa as to why he recommended to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar  those controversial and draconian amendments to the Goa Lokayukta Act that were passed in the last Assembly session.

Hundreds of locals participated in the awareness meet which was organized by the corlim village panchayat members with the support of a sygenta limited company situated in corlim village through its ngo margdarshak with the help of (VRecycle) a private waste management services who have taken the initiative to start this pilot project in the village

It may be noted that the project which is just in its initial stages would help in tackling the issues of present waste management situation of the village of corlim where in the management of waste generated in and around corlim villages specially the dry waste would be collected twice in a week by the labourers of v-recycle and then the same would be sorted out at a sorting station situated in corlim industrial estate

The over all aim of the project is to have a plastic free and clean village that uses sustainable model that has cent collection compliance with an environment friendly treatment and disposal system
