22-dec-2012 … Chief minister Manohar Parrikar along with porvorim mla rohan khaunte and aldona mla glen ticlo on Friday evening carried a joint site inspection of the porvorim constituency along with the porvroim market area and promised to get the market complex ready within the next one year …

Various government officials concerned with the porvorim market project were also a part of the inspection team where in chief minister along with the porvorim mla and others inspected various place in and around porvorim constituency

 Speaking to media reporters chief minister Manohar Parrikar said the issues seems to have been pending due to difference of opinion and the same would be solved in the next five to six days

 Porvorim mla rohan khaunte said that since they were concerned about the congestion taking place in porvorim area they were trying to shift the market in the same vicinity and with cm intervention he expect the work to be taken up in a war footing basis …

Accusing casinos of harassing Jet Lev India Accessories  the goan youths employed with them, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte along with goan youth’s who services were terminated by the casino’s met the labour minister avertano furtado on Friday morning and asked him to take strict action on the casino officials over the issue and also demanded to ask the casino officials to take back the goan youth back on jobs ….

It may be noted that even though the issue was raised in the last budget assembly session by the porvorim mla there has been no improvement in working style of the concerned casinos who have started to employ more non-Goans while the Goan youth have been given step-motherly treatment.

In a discussion held with the labour minister avertano furtado in his office at the secretariat porvorim mla rohan khaunte asked mr furtado to look in to the matter and see that the terminated employees were taken back by the casino officials to work on the casinos ….

tourism minister parulekar express suprise over former home minister remarks stating that (drugs were being used in sunburn event and there it had to be stopped being held in goa)

The state tourism minister Dilip Parulekar on Thursday expressed his surprise over the remarks made by the former home minister ravi naik who had stated that events like sun burn had allowed bad elements along with drugs to enter in to the state of goa and therefore it should not be allowed

Sunburn is an electronic dance music festival held over three days. The festival has multiple stages with artists playing simultaneously daily. The festival is an amalgamation of music, entertainment, food and shopping

It may be noted that the Former home minister ravi naik speaking to goa365 on Wednesday had accused the bjp led government of trying to support events such as sun burn stated on which he had raised his objections of being held in goa and had asked for a ban on it ….

Speaking over the matter tourism minister Dilip Parulekar questioned the former home minister as what he was doing during the earlier congress government when the police officials themselves were selling drugs

for its tourism related projects goa state tourism department hopes to get 300 crores from the central tourism department

20-dec-2012 …. In order to get central funds for some Jet Lev India of the state tourism related projects it seems that the state tourism department have been able to impress the central tourism minister dr chirangeevi who has assured the state tourism minister Dilip Parulekar of helping with at least a sum of over 300 crores of rupees in the next financial year ….

The state tourism minister was speaking to media reporters at his office at the secretariat where he informed the media that he along with his department officials had met the central tourism minister who had confirmed his visit to the state during the carnival festival next year as a chief guest and would also announced a special package of funds for goa’s tourism related projects ……

 Parulekar said that he in front of the central tourism minister had put up projects such as goa’s beach erosion of which 50 crores were already assured, safe guarding heritage places, one time investments on projects such as beach cleaning and beach security

Parulekar said that the central government had also raised their apprehensions over the previous state governments for not utilizing the 150 crores of central government funds for state tourism related projects

Parulekar also said that his department was also studying the matter over how to take back the tourism land given on lease in sinquerim to a five star resort while the proposal of rope way from Miramar to reis magos fort was already in the pipeline and the same would take over a year to get completed

Panaji, December 20, 2012 ….  The Directorate of Official Language, intends to restructure the existing Panel of Translators, in order to enable various Government Department, to outsource the translation work of welfare schemes, Citizen Charters, statutory documents State/Central Acts and Rules and other allied material meant for information of general public, from English to Konkani, Marathi, Hindi, Portuguese and vice versa.

For this purpose, Directorate has proposed two sub panels and applications are invited from eligible persons who have completed 18 years of age as detailed below.

General Translator Panel: Education Qualification (a) Minimum XII/Graduation in any faculty (B) Proficiency in reading and writing of source and target language to take the task of translation (C) Discipline specified degree shall be additional qualification and (D) Experience in translation, if any.

Specialized/experts panel: In addition to above Formal academic and legal Expertise in the preferred domain (s)/discipline(s) chosen as Source/Target domain(s)/discipline(s).  General:- Total nos. of Translators – 100 Nos., Languages of Translation–Konkani, Marathi, Hindi, Portuguese and English, Rate of Translation General–Rs.1.25, Spealised–Rs.1.50, Tenure of the Panel – for 3 years.

Candidates will be shortlisted for written test, if required.  The interested persons/candidates who have completed 18 years of age, may forward their applications, in prescribed form (available in the Directorate of official Language, Junta House, Panaji along with attested copies of Educational qualification Certificate, Residence/domicile certificate, Identity Proof, Experience Certificate,

if any and any other relevant information related to Empanelment of Translators, to the Director, Directorate of Official Language, 1st Lift, 5th Floor, Junta House, Panaji.

The last date for receiving application to the office or official Language, Junta House, Panaji is January 15, 2013.

EXHIBITION ON ‘FORTS OF GOA’ AT GOA STATE MUSEUM ON DEC.21

Panaji, December 20, 2012 …. The Directorate of Museums has organized a temporary exhibition on ‘Forts of Goa’ on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 3.00 p.m. in the Goa State Museum complex, Patto, Panaji.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Smt. Vaidehi Naik, Mayor of Panaji Municipal Corporation.  The Secretary (Museum) will grace the function and will be followed by a lecture on Goan Forts by Sachin Madage between 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Public and students are requested to attend the function and view the exhibition.

SEMINAR ON ELECTRICITY REGULATIONS & RELATED MATTERS HELD

Panaji, December 20, 2012 … A seminar on Electricity Regulations and Related Matters organized by Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held in the city today. Shri Manguirish Pai Raikar, President of GCCI inaugurated the seminar.

In his inaugural address Shri Manguirish Pai Raikar said, it is high time for the Goa State should have a policy to encourage and promote Renewable Energy, particularly Solar Power. Further he said, generation of solar power within the state will also help Goa to meet its requirements.

Stressing on peak power shortage Shri Raikar said, availability of supply of stable and reliable power is imperative for sustaining economic development. He said there is a urgent need to substantially reduce peak power shortage in the state.

Earlier Shri Rajan J. Bhatikar, Chairman BIC, GCCI welcomed the guests.

Shri B. L. Biyani, Executive Director, Mandove Casting Pvt. Ltd., shared the HT/EHT Industrial Electricity Consumers Experience in Goa. Shri Durairaj M. Advisor to V. M. Salgaonkar & Bros Pvt. Ltd and member of BIC spoke on “Salient aspects of electricity supply code”.

Shri Nirmal Braganza, Chief Electrical Engineer, Electricity Department Government of Goa spoke on the subject “Tariff Setting Process”

In the evening session Grievances Redressal session was held which was chaired by Shri. V. K. Jha, Chairperson Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, Electricity Department.  Shri Jha answered the queries pertaining to the subject.
