15-09-2013 … The house committee constituted to inquire in to the police politicians drug nexus case under the leadership of nuvem mla micky Pacheco would submit its final report to the state government in the coming assembly session

It may be noted that Pacheco was appointed as the Chief while the other members of the committee comprised of BJP MLAs Michael Lobo, Vishnu Wagh, gvp mla Caetano Silva and MGP member Lavoo Mamledar.

The committee’s voluminous report runs to around 10,000 pages, however, a few government and police officers refusing to cooperating with the investigation has resulted in the delay of the report in the past few months.

Addressing media persons in Panjim chairman of the house committee and nuvem mla micky Pacheco said that the report had stated that there was a connection of police-politicians in to the drug nexus case …

Commenting over the mining scenario of the state pacheco said that the state government had still let scot free those people who were involved in state illegal mining due to which mining in goa had come to a standstill till date

THE LAST DATE FOR REGISTRATION OF TIPPERS/TRUCKS WITH THE DIRECTORATE OF MINES IS DEC. 15, 2012

Panaji, December 7, 2012 ….  The Directorate of Mines and Geology is in the process of registering the details of Tippers/Trucks involved in the business of ore transportation.  The last date for registration of Tippers/Trucks with the Directorate is December 15, 2012.  All the concerned Tippers/Trucks/owners/Firms who at any point of time were involved in the transportation of ore should register themselves with the Directorate.  Those who fail to register themselves by December 15, 2012 may not be considered to be operating their vehicles for mining and thus shall not be entitled for any benefits concerning the same.

The forms can be freely downloaded from the website of the department www.goadmg.gov.in.

The duly filled forms can be submitted in the office of the Directorate of Mines and Geology, Udyog Bhavan, 2nd Floor, Near Azad Maidan, Panaji or can be submitted to Goa Electronic Limited (GEL) EDC House, Panaji, Goa.

POWER SHUT DOWN

A power shut down has been arranged on December 7, 2012 from 9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. at 11 KV Dabal Feeder.  Hence there will be no power supply to the areas of Perudak, Ambeudak, Narvekar Mines , Demamol, Kakodkar Farm and Cuddegal.

Pollution notices to 16 industries in Goa

Sixteen companies in the state were today issued show cause notice by Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) for failing to install pollution monitoring equipment despite several warnings.

GSPCB member secretary Lavinsons Martin has issued showcause notices to all the 16 companies, asking them to reply within 15 days.

The companies that were issued notices include state’s only power generating plant, M/s Reliance Infrastructure Limited, tyre manufacturing company – MRF, steel manufacturing units — Goa Sponge and Power Limited, Shrithik Ispat, Sesa Goa Limited’s Pig Iron Plant, United Spirits Limited,  Ingrown Hair Scars Removal United Breweries Limited, Shraddha Ispat Private Limited, Nicomet Industries Limited, Ambey Metallic Limited and Aparant Iron and Steel Private Limited, fertilizer manufacturing industry – Zuari Industries Limited (ZIL) and pharma companies – Syngenta India Limited and Merck (India) limited, and liquor firm – John Distilleries and a state government run Sanjivani Sahakari Sakkar Karkhana Limited, a sugar factory.
