Panaji: April 29, 2026::The Office of Commissioner, Labour and Employment, will celebrate “Labour Day” on May 01, 2026 at 10.30 am at Darbar Hall, Lok Bhavan, Donapaula. The Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant will be the Chief Guest at the function, Minister for Labour & Employment, Mayor, Corporation of the City of Panaji, Chief Secretary and Secretary and Commissioner, (Labour and Employment) will preside over the function. On the occasion, 20 industrial workers who have done exemplary work/dedicated services in their field will be conferred with the Shram Gaurav “Shramik Mitra” Award, 2026 at the hands of Chief Minister.

The newly installed 200 KVA Distribution Transformer of Pernem Taluka will be test charged on May 02, 2026 and will remain charged thereafter to release 11 KV power supply for charging the HT installation of M/s Devraj Goan Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., at Survey No. 233/2, Mandrem, Pernem for a total contract Demand of 170 KVA under Sub Div III Agarwada, Div XVII Mapusa.

Public are hereby warned not to come in contact of electrical equipment and not to graze cattle near the above mentioned locations as it is highly dangerous for life and property.

Similarly, a power shut down has been arranged on May 02, 2026  from 8.30 a.m to  01.30 p.m at 11 KV Barazan Feeder, Sanguem to carry out urgent maintenance works.  Affected areas are Bamonmol and surrounding areas.

A power shut down has been arranged on April 30, 2026 from 8.00 a.m to  2.00 p.m at 11 KV Mangor Feeder, Vasco to carry out urgent maintenance works.  Affected areas are Mestawado, Rammandir, Amar Jatayu, Bhute Bhat and surrounding areas.

Similarly, a power shut down has been arranged on April 30, 2026 from 8.30 a.m to  12.30 p.m at 11 KV Moira Feeder, Mapusa to carry out urgent maintenance works.  Affected areas are Misquita engineering, Borwan waddo, Nachinola Church, Vaingan Waddo and surrounding areas.

Also, a power shut down has been arranged on April 30, 2026 from 3.30 p.m to  06.30 p.m at 11 KV Moira Feeder, Mapusa to carry out urgent maintenance works.  Affected areas are Dekhne, Pirazona, Khopre bhat, Acron Bar, Acron, Post office and surrounding areas.

Goan Reporter:FINAL DANCE PRESENTATION ON “INDIAN FOLK & TRIBAL DANCES” ON APRIL 29

Panaji: April 28, 2026::The Directorate of Art & Culture will be organising final presentation of Indian Folk and Tribal Dances under the workshop of “Indian Folk & Tribal Dances” on April 29, 2026 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao from 8.30 am onwards. Minister for Art & Culture, Shri. Ramesh Tawadkar will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, alongwith the Secretary Art & Culture and other dignitaries on April 29, 2026 at 10:00 am. The Directorate of Art and Culture, had organized a workshop on “Indian Folk & Tribal Dances” under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative, 2 schools each were selected randomly across all the talukas of Goa from April 20 to 25 2026. Participating students have been trained in a diverse range of Indian folk and tribal dance forms, including Tarpa, Koli and Lezim from Maharashtra; Garba and Tippani from Gujarat; Ghoomar from Haryana; Karma from Chhattisgarh; Bhangra from Punjab; Bihu from Assam; Kalbelia from Rajasthan; and Sambalpuri from Odisha etc.

Affected areas are Naik Navare, Viva Goa, Kadamba Housing Society, ICAI, Chimbel Properties, Uttam Darshan, Salle 59 (Navelkar Pride), Harbans Vihar, Belmonte and vicinity of Kadamba Plateau.
