MEETING HELD TO REVIEW SCHEMES FOR MINORITIES

Panaji, June 29, 2019 …. The Chairperson of National Commission for Minorities, Government of India, Shri Syed Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi who is in Goa to review welfare schemes for minorities in the State has said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister, is firm on its resolve for inclusive development. While chairing a meet at the Secretariat in Porvorim, recently, held a meeting to review the implementation of the schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), Shri Rizvi recalled the statement made by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi after assuming office in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”, wherein he said that the Government was keen on ensuring minorities do not lag behind in any sector.

Representatives from various state Departments/bodies like the Department of Social Welfare, District Rural Development Agency, Directorate of Women and Child Development, Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Directorate of Education, etc briefed Shri Rizvi on the various schemes being implemented by their respective Departments.

Shri Rizvi informed about the Central Government schemes, some of which are new, that are for benefit of minorities such as the concept of Bridge courses for drop outs, coaching for minorities for competitive exams, etc.

Shri Rizvi suggested that the District Level Committees in North and South Goa formed to discuss minority-related  issues, invite well –known people from the minority community as guest members so that greater awareness on the benefits offered to minorities is created and so also important feedback from the community is conveyed to the committee.

CM INAUGURATES WHEEL CHAIR LIFT FOR SCHOOL BUS  OF SANJAY CENTER

Panaji: June 28,2019 … A warm felicitation was accorded to the students of Sanjay Centre for Special Education, who have excelled in their Goa Board exams of March 2018-19 academic year.  The 46 students of first batch of SSC and 16 students from Higher Secondary section were felicitated at the hands of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, The function was organized by Sanjay Centre for Special Education  at Porvorim  recently

The Chief Minister while speaking on the occasion said that, special children are important segment of the society and are required to be brought in the main stream of the society. The Government has implemented various schemes for their education, training, their skill development so as to make them  live  a dignified life.

The Chief Minister said Sajay Center of Education has witnessed change since its inception and admired the staff, teachers for having shown their patience, commitment, dedication towards the development of the students. He also appreciated the efforts of the Board Members towards the progress of institution. He suggested  to start Divyang Cell and asked to submit proposal. He called for the need of enhancement of skill among special children for which he said two skill development centres’ one each   in  North and  South Goa can  be started with  a permanent hostel for their better living. Training through skill development centre will help special children to secure jobs to become self reliant.  He also congratulated the students for their bright success.

The Secretary for Education Smt. Neela Mohanan ( ( IAS ) who was the guest of honour  for the function  appreciated  Rotary Club Panaji Midtown for providing hydraulic wheel chair lift for school bus of Sanjay Centre. She appreciated the staff, teachers and others for their endeavour to desire goal of Sanjay Centre. She congratulated the students for their excellence in their respective academic exams.

BE MORE VIGILANT WHILE BUYING FOOD PRODUCTS :GOVIND GAUDE

Panaji: June 27,2019 … Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Shri. Govind Gaude today cautioned consumers to become more vigilant while buying packaged and outdoor food items and urged consumers not to hesitate to complaint before  various consumer forums if found anything fishy about the product. He was speaking after inaugurating an programme held on the Occasion of State Consumer Rights Day organised by the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs at Sankruti Bhavan, Patto, Panjim recently.

Speaking on the occasion Shri. Gaude opined that, Safety of the Consumer in every aspect should be given utmost importance and for that matter significant importance need to be given for awareness activities so that interests of consumers are safeguarded.

Inaugural session was followed by presentation on the theme  LPG Gas cylinder : Safety Measures and precautions. Wherein Sales Officer, HPCL Shri. Resham Mittal, Proprietor, Nagesh Malalaxmi Gas Services Shri. Siddharth Palang and Consumer Activist Shri. Roland Martins enlightened the audience about various aspects of LPG Gas.

CHIEF MINISTER CONDOLES DEATH OF MOHAN RANADE

Panaji:: June 26, 2019  …Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant has expressed grief over the sad demise of eminent author and Veteran freedom fighter Shri Mohan Ranade, who passed away at the age of 89 in Pune.

Expressing his condolences the Chief Minister has said, apart from being an eminent author, Shri Ranade has contributed immensely during the struggle movement of Goa and was imprisoned for 14 years.

Shri Ranade was honoured with Padmashree in 2001 and later in 2006 he was conferred with Sangli Bhushan.

The Chief Minister, Dr. Sawant has conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members of Shri Ranade.

CZMP PUBLIC HEARING ON JULY 7TH

Panaji, June 24, 2019 …The public hearing for finalization of the draft Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) prepared by the National Centre of Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), Chennai, for the State of Goa in terms of CRZ Notification 2011 will be held at Taleigao Community Hall, Taleigao on July 7, 2019.

The hearing will commence from 10.00 a.m and will conclude by 7.00 p.m on the same day. In case the speakers are less, the hearing will conclude as soon as the last speaker has spoken and will not continue thereafter.

 There will be two Registers, the first Register, the participant will register their attendance and in second Register the participant who intends to express their views and speak will register their names separately upto 11.00 a.m on the day of hearing. Only participants who register before 11.00 a.m for speaking will be permitted to speak. The participants who wish to express their views shall be given a fixed time slot of maximum 10 minutes only. No persons will be allowed in the hall without valid ID proof.

The participants will restrict their suggestions/objections strictly to the CZMP in question and will refrain from long speeches, as to opportunity to maximum participants to express themselves. Further, the suggestions/objections already raised by the previous speaker will be avoided.

PRACTISE YOGA FOR SELF WELL-BEING: RANE

Panaji, June 23, 2019  ..Directorate of Health Services in association with Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and Directorate of Education organised the State Level function on the occasion of ‘International Day for Yoga’ at Taliegao Community Hall, Taliegao today. Minister for Health Shri. Vishwajeet Rane, Secretary for Health Shri. J. Ashok Kumar IAS, Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs Smt. Anjali Sehrawat IAS, Directors and senior officials of various Departments along with 280 students from 6 schools performed Yogasanas under the guidance of Trained Yog Gurus.

While addressing the gathering the Minister congratulated Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi for popularizing the Yoga Movement in the entire country. “Yog means union of our body and mind. It puts forth a holistic approach to life. It ensures our personal and social well-being. Hence, we must practice it regularly,” he said.

“Yoga is getting famous globally. However, it is observed in the state a few cannot practice it due to space constraint. The Government will try to overcome this aspect by providing public premises to practice Yoga so that each one would practice and preach it with seriousness and devotedly,” the Minister informed. He further urged the younger generation to practice Yoga every day for a bright future.

Earlier, the program began with lighting the lamp. Smt. Sehrawat, IAS gave the welcome address while Shri. J. Ashok Kumar IAS also spoke on the occasion. After the practical session, Dr. Suraj Kanekar, Yog Guru- Goa State Yoga Academy delivered a talk on the importance of Yoga in our day-to-day life. Later, Students of Gomantak Ayurvedic College, Shiroda performed a dance under the guidance of Dr. Joy Pereira.

Shri. Mahale compered the function while Dr. Mahesh Verlekar proposed the vote of thanks.

SPEAKER ATTENDED YOGA DAY PROGRAMME AT GOA LEGISLATURE SECRETARIAT

Panaji, June 22, 2019 … Four days Yoga training programme was organized by Goa Legislative Assembly. The training programme was conducted by the Ambika Yog Kutir,  renowned Yoga Institution of Mumbai. The training programme was headed by Dr. Sanjay Bhaviskar and his team.

The training programme was attended by the Officers and Staff of the Goa Legislature Secretariat in large number. The Speaker Shri Rajesh Patnekar also participated in the training programme.

Speaking on the occasion Speaker Shri Rajesh Patnekar requested all members and staff to practice yoga on regular basis in order to keep themselves healthy, mentally and physically. The Practice of Yoga also helps to keep away various diseases and increases the life span, he added.

CM INAUGURATES RENOVATED SCHOOL BUILDING AT VELGUEM

Panaji. June 21, 2019 … Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the upgraded Government Primary School building and Rural Medical Dispensary building at Velguem in Bicholim taluka recently.
Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) is regularly taking up the repairs and maintenance of the schools from time to time, in order to provide basic infrastructures to the students even in the rural areas. This would not only help to upgrade the existing infrastructure facilities of the schools but also to improve the quality of education and thus the life of the rural population, Velguem is the good example.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said, the Government is taking necessary steps to make Government schools of top class, by providing all facilities for the students. He said the upgraded building having requisite  facilities to cater to the basic necessities will help the students community to excel in their studies.

IPS PROBATIONERS CALL UPON GOVERNOR

Panaji, June 20, 2019 … The Governor, Smt Mridula Sinha has solicited the cooperation to build a new Bharat and a healthy and prosperous India, from the 71 RR 2018 Batch of IPS (Indian Police Service) Probationers who called upon the Governor at Raj Bhavan, in Dona Paula, today.

The IPS Probationers from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, O.V. K. Shastry are on a Bharat Darshan and paid a visit to the Governor.

Smt Mridula while addressing the IPS Probationers said that the police service is social service too. She said that with increasing challenges in society, the role and responsibilities of police personnel has increased.

The Governor asked the probationers to be constantly on alert. Don’t be emotional she advised but try and see every person from a human perspective. She said that crimes against women are a concern and steps have to be taken to stop such crimes.

The Governor further told the IPS Probationers to convince people that they are with them by their actions and not just words. “Learn each day, learn continuously, be open to learning,” she said.

The Governor also spoke of the importance of time management.
