Goan Reporter News: Goa Konkani Academy new Office Inaugurated
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today inaugurated Goa Konkani Academy new Office along with Dalgado Library at 5th Floor, BSNL Building, Patto. Goa Konkani Akademi office has been reshuffling every now and then finally gets a new space to carry out its official work.
While speaking at the inaugural Chief Minister Dr. Promod Sawant said that the dream of Konkani lovers will be fulfilled soon as the Government will take up the construction of Konkani Bhavan. “I am in talks with officials and plan to introduce competitive exams like Banking, Railway and postal to be carried out in Konkani language. Today we need all Goans and Konkani lovers across the world to come forward to start the Konkani Literature Revolution”.
On this occasion CM felicitated Jnanpith Awardee, Shri. Damodar Mauzo for his incredible work in Konkani Literature. While speaking on the occasion Shri Damodar Mauzo said that “I appreciate Dr. Pramod Sawant led Government for providing new space for Konkani Akademi and hereby request him to construct new innovative Konkani Bhavan as soon as possible. In order to improve our official language we need to improvise the academics. Mother tongue is not the language taught by mothers to their children but also the language of the soil just like Karnataka official language is Kanada, France official language is French, Konkan region official language is Konkani and we need to be proud of our language”.
During the function CM also released a book on the life of Late, Dr. Manohar Rai Sardesai. The other dignitaries present were Secretary (Rajbhasha), Shri. Sarpreet Singh Gill, IAS, Jnanpith Awardee, Shri. Damodar Mauzo, Saraswati Samman Awardee, Shri. Mahabaleshwar Sail, Chairman Goa Konkani Akademy, Shri. Goan Reporter News: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant reviews Government Schemes
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant chaired a meeting with officials of various departments and reviewed all matters pertaining to the Schemes like DDSSY, Griha Adhar, Ladli Lakshmi, Tribal Schemes yesterday.
Chief Minister directed to process and clears all the pending applications under DSSY by next month. He also urged the Department of Women and Child Development and Department of Social Welfare to transfer the amount of beneficiaries of Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSY) and Griha Aadhar on 10th of every month.
Chief Minister also emphasized upon the beneficiaries to link their Aadhaar with account number of the beneficiary as around 11,513 applications of Griha Adhar are discontinued and some are kept on hold due to issues of bank mergers and dormant accounts.
With regards to the pending 276 applications of Ladli Laxmi above 40 years of age Chief Minister directed the Dept of W&C to convene the meeting of the Committee and clear all the applications immediately.
The Directorate of Health Services was instructed to initiate necessary steps so that bills from empanelled hospitals under DDSY bills are processed and cleared every month.
Chief Minister, informing that the DDSY card will be open for all, said that the card will be compulsory in health services, Primary health Centre and Goa Medical College. Government servants should decide for themselves whether to apply for a DSSY card, he pointed. Chief Minister also instructed Goa Electronic Limited to make their centres open all 365 days for new DSSY and renewal of DSSY cards.
Health Minister, Shri. Vishwajit Rane, Secretary to CM, Shri. Ajit Roy, IAS, Secretary (Tribal Welfare), Shri Sarpreet Singh Gill, IAS, Secretary (Women and Child), Shri. Arun Kumar Mishra, IAS, Principal Secretary (Fin), Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, Dean GMC, Dr. Shivanand Bandekar and other officials were also present for the meeting at Mantralaya, Porvorim.
Goan Reporter News: CM Dr Pramod Sawant reiterates govt’s commitment to provide employment opportunities
The Government reiterates its commitment to provide 5000 employment opportunities in Government sector and 5000 in the private sector for the youth in the State in the coming days said Government lays thrust on encouraging skill development stated Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant.
Speaking at a function of Rewards and Recognition ceremony organized at Community hall Taleigao organised by Business Network Internationals Foundation, Goa Region on the theme and slogan ”Leading The Change Transforming Businesses, Impacting Communities, Chief Minister said Government aims to make Goa self reliant in all respect and added that schemes and programs are implemented for business, industry and for agriculture sector.
Government has laid due focus on upgrading skills across ITIs in the State, Dr. Sawant said and pointed out that skilled manpower will be required in every sector. The efforts of the Government are proving fruitful with an increase of 25% in Goan entrepreneurship. He hoped for cooperation of the BNI Goan Region in the endeavor of making Goa self reliant ie: Swayampurna Goa.
Executive Director BNI Goa Region Mr. Rajkumar Kamat, in his welcome address enlightened the participants about the activities of the BNI Goa Region. He also committed to bring more SMEs, encourage Startups in Goa, mentor 1000 business minds in Goa and sought the support and cooperation in this endeavor.

Goan Reporter News: Yoga Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan
Raj Bhavan, Goa celebrated International Day of Yoga at its new Durbar Hall today. Governor Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai participated in the yoga session.
International Delegates attending Fourth Tourism Working Group and Ministerial meeting headed by Union Minister for Tourism, Culture and DONER, Shri G. Kishan Reddy and Minister of State for Defence & Tourism, Shri Ajay Bhatt along with other G20 delegates also participated in the Yoga Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan.
Citing the quote from Bhagavad Geeta, Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self to the self, the Governor Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai said. Today, we hear people talk about the various benefits of yoga everywhere. Yoga provides many health benefits due to which most of the people have started practicing yoga regularly, he added.
The Governor complimented G20 delegates for participating in Yoga Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan.
Shri Kishan Reddy in his greetings said, Yoga is necessary in our life which helps to keep the balance of physical health. He expressed happiness to be a part of this celebration at Goa Raj Bhavan. Yoga played a vital role during the corona period, the Minister added.
Shri M. R. M. Rao, IAS, Secretary to Governor and others were present for the yoga session.
Dr. Madhavi Tanavade and her team enchanted the shlok and led the yoga session by guiding the participants in common yoga protocol.
