27/07/2015 … Fisheries minister avertano furtado on Monday said that he would try and take people in to confidence before trying to construct a fishing jetty in vasco

Mr avertano was speaking to media reporters in panjim on the sidelines of the statements made by Vasco MLA Carlos that the state government has found permanent solution under which the Vasco bay would be divided into two parts, where one part would be given to the MPT and the other part would be used for construction of a new jetty.

Fisheries minister avertano furtado said that he was aware of the issue and would try to resolve it soon as possible

Meanwhile vasco mla carlos almeida said that there was a need for a fishing jetty and therefore taking locals in to confidence he would construct the fishing jetty in vasco

26/07/2015 …. Citing heavy tarrif’s in power bills Calangute mla michael lobo on Friday urged chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar along with power minister milind naik to roll back power tariff hike in constituency and as well as in the state of goa

The calangute legislator also brought the incident to the notice of the power minister milind naik and the concerned electrical engineer electricity bills that the consumers have received in calangute constituency were a matter of concerns due to the power bill being doubled up for unknown reasons for which he had urged the power minister to immediately roll back ….

Mr lobo said that consumers who used to get 700 rs bill a month were getting double the amount in the past few months with the units being doubled up due to which he had requested chief minister to look in to the matter as soon as possible

Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that he had asked the concerned police officials to complete the preliminary report as soon as possible

The state bjp led government would not be able to introduce the bill on medium of instruction to make it in to a law in the upcoming state assembly session as chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar has not found time to go through the respected bill due to certain issue still being deliberated by the select committee…

On Thursday a meeting was held at the chief minister residence at altinho which included chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar, environment minister alina saldanha, calangute mla Michael lobo, velim mla Benjamin silva and member of the force movement wherein it discussions on introduction of moi bill was discussed

where in after the meet sources informed goanreporter that representatives of force were not satisfied with the reply given by chief minister of asking for more time before the moi bill could be introduced in the upcoming assembly session

Speaking to goanreporter deputy chief minister who arrived late after the meet said that though he was not present for the moi meeting with chief minister he said though he has heard that the moi bill would not be brought up in the coming assembly session the same could be brought in the next assembly session as the issue had been passed in the cabinet and an assurance had been given by the state government which had to be followed

Mr dsouza said that it was due to everyone’s negligence that the bill was not been able to be introduced in the coming assembly session

Meanwhile calangute mla Michael lobo said that since the bill had been sent to select committee who had to then sent it to the chief minister and there were still some issues that the committee had thought of going on through due to which chief minister Parsekar had asked for more time

25/07/2015 … Deputy Chief Minister francis dsouza has ruled out his state government re thinking over the issue of mopa consultancy or scarping the mopa airport as it is left up to the state assembly to decide on it he said ….

It may be noted that Goans For Dabolim Only on Thursday had hit out against the Mopa airport project. And asked that the mopa project not only be scraped but also investigated thoroughly.

While the state bjp party on Thursday refuted allegations levelled by the Congress and former PWD minister Churchill Alemao that the contract for the Mopa consultancy was awarded by BJPand had demanded an investigation into awarding the consultancy for the Mopa airport and also a review of all the reports submitted by Louis Berger to the Goa government.

But Speaking to goanreporter in a different voice deputy chief minister francis dsouza said that the issue of mopa had been there for every elections and therefore certain sections of vested interest had used mopa issue for unwanted reasons

Mr dsouza said that he did not found any reason as why there had to be a re-think on mopa consultancy ..

The managing committee of the goa cricket association on Thursday also officially appointed former India cricketer Hrishikesh Kanitkar as Goa senior cricket team coach and another ex-India player Ajay Ratra as coach of state’s U-19 cricket team.

Both Kanitkar and Ratra along with GCA president Chetan Desai and other officer bearers were present during the announcement made at state cricket body’s headquarters in Porvorim.

The calangute mla was responding to the allegations made by the congress spokesperson and former mla agnelo Fernandes who had said that the bjp legislator from calangute constituency michael lobo could have received kick backs from jica and there was a need to probe mr lobo’s angle in to the Louis berger issue …

Mr lobo said alleged that mr Fernandes had tried to give tourism department land to a private hotel during the time of mr Fernandes as an mla of calangute constituency
