Goan Reporter:STRICT REGULATIONS FOR STALLS APPROVED AHEAD FOR SHIRGAO JATRA
Panaji, 13 April 2026:: The North Goa District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has issued an order detailing the approval and strict regulation of stalls for the upcoming annual Shree Lairai Devi Jatra scheduled to be begin on April 21, 2026 at Shirgaon.
The Authority has approved two phases for erection of stalls to manage the expected high footfall during the Jatra.
It has approved erection of stalls from the first day onwards on April 21, 2026 comprising A1 to A10 and B1 to B16 in Zone I and D1 to D9 in Zone III subject to the conditions such as width of the stalls opposite the Homkhand area shall stand reduced from 6 m to 5 m and 15 stalls proposed on the approach road to the parking area will be shifted back by 1.5 m from the roads so as to maintain an adequate access/ exit route for emergency vehicles
The proposal for erection of stalls from the second day onwards i.e on April 22, 2026 comprising C1 to C9 in Zone I, and E1 to E8 and F1 to F8 in zone III is approved, subject to conditions such as the said stalls shall be erected only after 10.00 am on April 22, 2026, in view of the large congregation during the Homkhand ritual, which concludes in the early morning. The zonal markings have been carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the Sub-Committee and the Sub Committee will oversee the enforcement of the approved layout on the site and removal of any unauthorized stalls.

Panaji, 13 April 2026A power shut down has been arranged on April 15, 2026 from 09.00 am to 12.00 noon at 11 KV Sodiem Feeder, Agarwada to carry out urgent maintenance works. Affected areas are Bamanwada, Portowada, Rai, Tarchibhat and surrounding areas.
Goan Reporter:CM TO LAY FOUNDATION STONE FOR DR. BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR BHAVAN ON APRIL 14
Panaji, 13 April 2026:: The Directorate of Social Welfare and Goa State SC and OBC Finance and Development Corporation Ltd. along with other collaborating Departments will celebrate 135th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar as a State function on April 14, 2026 at 10.30 am at Dr. Ambedkar Park near KTC Bus Stand, Panaji.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant alongwith Speaker, Goa Legislative Assembly Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar and Minister for Social Welfare Shri. Subhash Phaldessai and other dignitaries will garland the statue of Dr. Ambedkar.
On the occasion Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant will lay foundation stone for construction of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan through virtual mode.
The programme will be followed by speeches of dignitaries and felicitation of students.
