ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION OF RS 1 LAKH TO THE VICTIMS OF ACID ATTACK UNDER PMNRF

Panaji: janauary, 2, 2017 …. Government of India has been taken the issue of acid attack on a priority basis and several steps have been taken to prevent the incidents of acid attacks and provide treatment and compensation to the victims. The IPC has been amended to include specific provisions on acid attack as an offence.

To give immediate temporary relief to the victim, it has been decided to provide additional financial assistance of Rs. 1.00 lakh (over and above the amount provided under the Victim Compensation Scheme) to the victims of acid attacks. The eligibility criteria for the additional compensation will remain as earlier. This additional Rs. 1.00 lakh will be provided under the Prime Ministers National Relief Fund (PMNRF)

The Supreme Court has also issued a series of directions to take proactive measures, on regulation of sale of acids, providing free treatment to the acid attack victims and disbursing compensation to the tune of at least Rs. 3.00 lakh to the acid attack victim and Ministry of home affairs (MHA) has issued directions for minimum compensation of Rs. 3.00 lakh to be provided to acid attack victims under Victim Compensation Scheme.

Accordingly the MHA has issued guidelines for the “Central Government Victim Compensation Fund Scheme” (CVCF) to help women victims for various crimes committed against them.

            For providing additional assistance, the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner of the concerned District will have to send a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs. On receipt of the report from Ministry of Home Affairs, the compensation will be paid to the bank account directly within 05 working days.

        Shri S.K. Bhalla, Director (CS-I), CS Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi has been nominated as Nodal Officer in the matter.

COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM FOR GRANT-IN-AID TO ORGANISATIONS WORKING FOR OBC AND SC

LOKOTSAV-2017 TO BE HELD FROM JANUARY 6 TO 15 AT KALA ACADEMY

Panaji: December 31, 2016 ….. Directorate of Art and Culture will be presenting a beautiful mixture of folk forms and handicrafts from all over India at the yearly Lokotsav-2017 (folk festival) which will be organized from January 6 to January 15, 2017. The Festival will be held at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy. Around 500 folk artists will be presenting various folk dances and music of their states and also 600 craft persons will be displaying their handicraft items during the festival.

This folk festival is organised by the Directorate Art and Culture, Govt. of Goa every year in joint collaboration of West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Kala Academy, Goa, Sports Authority of Goa, Corporation of the City of Panaji, South Cetnral Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur, Department of Art and Culture, Jarkhand and other agencies in order to promote the folk culture and handicrafts from different states and also from Goa. A perfect platform is given to the artisans to showcase and sale their crafts. This is 18th year of Lokotsav in Goa and day by day its popularity is increasing rapidly. The folk artists and craftsman from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam, Manipur, Haryana, West Bengal, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, Tripura including Goa are invited to present the folklore of their respective states in Lokotsav. Jharkhand State folk dancers will perform on January 8, on the occasion of  “Jharkhand Divas”. Also the folk dancers from International Group of Germany will be performing on the concluding day i.e. on January 15.

Various Cultural Programmes will be conducted in Dinanath Mageshkar Kala Mandir and Open Air Auditorium from January 7 to 14 every day from 6.00 p.m onwards. School children from 4 different schools will also present various cultural programmes.

Various kinds of workshops i.e. workshop on (clay work), jute work, (embroidery). Adek work and traditional cooking by I.F.B ltd will be organised at Kala Academy Campus from January 7 to 15 from 2.30 p.m to 5.30 p.m.

The stall will be allotted to applicants on January 4 and 5 from 10.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m.

The art lovers, tourists and general public are invited  for the inaugural function of the festival on January 6, 2017 at 6.30 p.m at Darya Sangam, Kala  Academy, and thereafter for the Cultural programme from 6.30 p.m to 9.30 p.m and to visit the exhibition cum programme from January 6 to 15 from 10.00 a.m to10.00 p.m

ILLEGAL GRATIFICATION DEPOSITED/COLLECTED IN SELF HELP GROUP ACCOUNTS

Panaji, December 29, 2016 …. The General  Elections to the Goa State Legislative Assembly  are tentatively  scheduled in the month of February, 2017 and the Model Code of Conduct will be in  force by the end of December, 2016.

During this period there is a possibility that the Self Help Groups/NGOs  could be made conduits by Political Parties/candidates for distribution  of  money/materials  in cash or kind thereby indulging in large scale malpractices which  is a punishable offence under IPC and R.P. Act. Therefore, it is strictly urged upon all the members of Self Help Groups under District Rural Development  Agency,  North and South Goa, not  to get influenced in acts of receiving any illegal  gratification  through  any mode prior to the  enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct till the completion of the entire Election process to have a free and fair Election.

            In case of any violations of the above instructions by any of the SHGs,  action deemed fit will be initiated under the relevant provisions of Representation  of  People Act 1951 and Indian Penal Code respectively against the erring SHGs. In  addition to this  all the benefits to the SHGs under National Rural Livelihoods Mission Scheme will also be suspended for a further period to be decided by the appropriate authorities.

DEFENCE MINISTER INAUGURATES DIGI DHAN MELA AT PANJIM

panaji: Dated: December 28,2016 …. Towards promoting digital payment methods among the society Digi-Dhan Mela was inaugurated by Union Minister for Defence Shri. Manohar Parrikar, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar, Union Minister for State AYUSH (independent charge) Shri. Shripad Naik  at Inox courtyard in Panjim today. Speaking at the function Defence Minister Shri. Parrikar appealed to people for opting  cashless payment mode by using various electronic transaction methods.

At a function organised by Department of  Information Technology Shri. Parrikar further said that, cashless transaction will help to curb Tax evaded activities and  will also bring accountability in the economy. Many foreign countries have already implemented cashless system. Economy of Sweden is running 80% on cashless mode. where in India needs to move forward in this regard, hence understanding the actual use of cashless transaction is very important, he added.

Chief Minister Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar in his address expressed confidence that Goa will march ahead in Digital transactions very soon as this state has high literacy and digital awareness and also implemented various electronic payments methods 10 to 15 years prior.

Union Minister for State AYUSH Shri. Shripad Naik also congratulated the State machinery for organising the Digi Dhan Mela. He said that such initiatives moved by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi will definitely root out corruption and black money from the country.

In the  day long DIGI Dhan Mela Variuos Banks and Oil companies and other agencies have participated to provide  information to public in order to promote cashless transactions.

CM INAUGURATES GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOL AT TUEM

Panaji:-27 December, 2016 … Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar on 25 December 2016 Laid  Foundation stone at various places in Pernem Taluka organized by Department of  Tourism and Department of  PWD at Pernem.

 Minister for Tourism Shri Dilip Parulekar, Zilla Panchayat Member Shri.Arun Bandkar, Zilla Panchayat Member Shri Deepak  Calangutkar, Mandrem Sarpanch Smt.  Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar  while addressing the gathered expressed his happiness over the upcoming and completed projects and said that the Government is in process of building quality infrastructure for the State. He further added that Government has undertaken various infrastructure developmental work taking in view the future needs of the people and urged to peoples corporation and  support in future.

 While inaugurating the New Primary School Building at Tuem Chief Minister said that this School is number one Model School among various Government Primary Schools in Goa, build with the estimate cost of Rs.2.50 crore with all the academic and curriculum Facilities.

SARA WADHWA PRESENTS CHEQUE OF RS. 1.48000

Panaji: December 26, 2016 …. The Governor of Goa, Mrs. Mridula Sinha, presided over a ceremony at Raj Bhawan, where Sara Wadhwa, a budding 17year old photographer, presented a cheque of Rs.1,48,000/- through Uday Rural Education Programme, a charity that is dedicated to the upliftment of schools in rural India, in collaboration with The Rotary Club of Panaji Mid-town,to the Gujrati Samaj Educational Society, Goa.Марши лестниц

The funds were raised by Sara Wadhwa, through the sale of her photographs at her solo exhibition, ‘Cynosure’, held at IHC, Delhi. She has dedicated these funds towards the construction of a speech therapy room and doctor’s room for special needs children in the new building to be launched next year by Gujarati Samaj.

Sara, an avid photographer, is a student of Class 12 at DPS, RK Puram, New Delhi. Her next solo photo exhibition, ‘Delhi Dawns,’ will be run for the entire month of December at IHC, Delhi.

Uday REP has completed several projects in Goa in association with the Rotary Club, and is in the process of fund raising for many other similar projects.”
