COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED FOR ISSUING CERTIFICATES

Panaji : March 21, 2019 … A Committee has been constituted to deal with applications by political parties and organizations for certification of their political advertisements proposed to be issued on electronic media, which includes TV Channels, Cable Network, Radio including private FM Channels, Cinema halls, audio visual displays at public places and internet during the conduct of General Election to Lok Sabha, 2019 and Bye Election, Goa.

The Committee consists of Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Chairperson,  Returning Officer of 1-North Goa Parliamentary Constituency Collectorate North, Panaji, Member, Station Director, Doordarshan Kendra Altinho, Member, Goa and Shri Praveen Volvotkar, Deputy Director, DOIT, Member.

Panaji : 24th Nov 2018 ::: Getting audience and funds are the two challenges before the documentary film makers and efforts are being made to overcome these problems said President, IDPA-Indian Documentary Producers Association, Ms. Usha Deshpande while talking to media at Media centre today. General Secretary, IDPA, Sanskar Desai was  also present. 

IDPA is endeavouring to provide exposure to documentary film-makers by organising film screenings, approaching film clubs for screening, negotiating with television channels for slots and participating in film festivals across the country.  It also organises competitions, workshops, seminars, masterclasses etc said Ms Deshpande.

Talking about Open   Forum which is going to be organised from 25-27  November for an hour starting at 1:30 during IFFI 2018, Deshpande said the themes will be:

  1. Director’s take on biopics –  how much fact and how much fiction is there  in it?
  2. Is technique over-riding content in today’s film-making and its impact.
  3. Cellphones are making each one of us into film-makers. Is this medium capable of graduating into way of making proper films?

IDPA is a non-profit organisation established in 1956 and is India ’s single largest association of producers of documentaries, animation films, advertisement films and TV programmes. It is also facilitating the documentary makers by providing them with regular updates, standardised rate cards and by settling disputes. IDPA, as a Trust,  is part of the movement trying to take further legacy of documentary film makers. It has history of distinguished Presidents like Aruna Raje, Mike Pandey and Vijaya Mulay, informed Sanskar Desai.

It has organised film festivals and instituted awards to deserving talent . IDPA has been associated with Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) since its inception in 1988.  Currently, the membership of IDPA is open to any Indian filmmaker who makes documentaries, short commercials, corporate films and animation films. said Shri Desai.

Shri Desai told that  IDPA has a slot on DD National  on Saturdays at 10 am.  for documentaries. Screenings are also arranged in Mumbai and at other places to promote documentary movement.” IDPA has proposed and is persuading  for a dedicated channel  for documentaries. It also curates packages as per the needs of the various festivals.

Backgrounder

Usha Deshpande, an alumni of screenplay writing course of FTII,  is an independent producer, director and writer. Her film ‘Khayal’ on Hindustani classical music is quite popular.

Sanskar Desai, a Mumbai based filmmaker, scriptwriter, theatre person, singer and a poet, has been actively   associated with Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) & International Film Festival of India (IFFI) since many years. He is General Secretary of IDPA and his film ‘Stepwells of Gujarat’ was widely received.

GOVERNMENT IS SENSITIVE TOWARD THE BETTERMENT OF SPECIAL CHILDREN-HWEALTH MINISTER

Panaji: July 15,2014The Health Minister Shri  Lxmiklamnt Parsekar  has said that the faculty of D. Ed introduced by the Government for special children studying in Sanjay School  is a step towards the up gradation of education of Special Children and further mentioned that the Govt. will strive to start  graduate courses  in the future.

            Shri Parsekar was speaking as chief guest after inaugurating new course for special students Diploma in Special Education for Mental Retardation at Sanjay Center at Porvorim today.

Speaking further Shri Parsekar said Government is sensitive towards the special children and has been making all efforts for the betterment of this important segment. He said of the various courses in paramedics, two would be useful for the treatment of special children. He also said that we have to make utmost efforts to make the special children able and self reliant to live a dignified life and bring them  in the main stream of the society.  

Shri Anil Powar Director of Education stressed the need for participation of community in the development of special children. Considering that society being the stakeholder of the welfare and development of special children it is necessary to overcome all the shortcomings   that comes in  their way. Special people are part of society and we should look at them with love and sympathy he added .

Shri J.R. Rebello Chairman, Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education while speaking highlighted upon the fact that every individual is counted in the process of development. Therefore the society cannot give up its responsibility towards special people. Society has to strive for the welfare and has to work to make them able citizen to live better life. He lauded the association of Sanjay school with Goa Board and  congratulated the faculty members for their commitment towards special people..He also thanked the Health Minister and the Government for providing Paramedical Services to Sanjay Center.

Ther faculty members of the center were felicitated a the hands of  Minister Shri Parsekar. Shri  Guruprasad  Pawaskar  presented mementoes to the dignitaries.

DISTRICT MAGISTRATE ORDERS FOR TENANCY VERIFICATION

Panaji: December 7, 2015 … The District Magistrate, North Goa has ordered all the owners of the houses, buildings, flats and other residential accommodation and the owners/ management of all hotels, lodging and boarding, private guest houses, paying guest accommodation of religious bodies in the whole of North Goa District to verify the bonafides of the persons through their proof of identify such as Election Card, Driving License, Smart Card, Passport, etc. and fill in the Tenant/visitor/Guest Verification Form in respect of the Tenants/Visitors/Guests before such persons are allowed to reside/stay in their premises and furnish the same to local Police Station for further verification and record.

The order also applies to the owners of such premises who have so far not furnished the verification forms in respect of their Tenants/Visitors/ Guests and who are already occupying their premises.

          The order has been made effective for a period of 60 days w.e.f December 7, 2015 to February 4, 2016 unless withdrawn earlier.   

IMPRISONMENT FOR DRUNKEN DRIVING

Panaji, July 23, 2018 … As per Section 185 of Motor Vehicle Act 1988 whoever, while driving, or attempting to drive a motor vehicle has in his blood alcohol exceeding 30 mg per 100 ml of blood detected in a test by a breath analyser shall be punishable for the first offence with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees or with both.

For a second or subsequent offence if committed within three years of the commission of the previous similar offence, the violator will face an imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine which may extend to three thousand rupees or with both.

Taking serious cognizance of the menace of drunken driving, the Hon’ble JMFC ‘B’ Court, Ponda has recently sentenced one such violator to undergo imprisonment for a period of one week and also to pay fine of Rs. 2,000/- and in default to undergo imprisonment for a period of one month. The Hon’ble Court has also suspended the Driving Licence of the violator for a period of 6 months.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic (HQ) has stated that driving under the influence of alcohol being one of the major causes of vehicle accidents, violators are being strictly dealt with. As this violation being non-compoundable, the same is referred to appropriate Court of Law with a request to impose maximum  fine and imprisonment, as also suspension of Driving Licence.

Mr ceppi also handed over the provision certificate to the sports minister of having selected goa to host the afc under 16 football tournament next year

Goa joins kolkota, navi Mumbai, guwahati, delhi and kochi as venues provisionally selected by fifa for the under 17 world cup football tournament …

Since goa being given the provisional selection for the fifa under 17 world cup india 2017 it means that it it would be now in goa and its government hand to comply with all the requirements to be ratified as a venue after the fifa inspection of September 2016 one year before the football tournament

PANAJI PS: Complaint upon behalf of the State that on 21.07.14 at 06.05 hrs., near St. Cruz junction- Panaji, accused    Navneet  s/o Umesh  Nasnodkar, age 26 yrs.,  r/o  St. Inez- Panaji  driving Swift car No. GA-07-E-5727 drove his car in a rash and  negligent  manner,  while  proceeding  from St. Inez junction  to  Kala  Academy- Panaji  and when  reached at St. Inez Junction, dashed  a cyclist who  was  proceeding  from Caculo island  to St. Inez Church as a result  of which the cyclist namely Mr.  Mahesh S/o Krishna Gaonkar r/o Caranzalem sustained fracture injury to his right leg. Cr.No.297/14 u/s 279, 338 IPC is registered. HC-4243 is I.O.

2) Complaint upon behalf of the State that on 20.07.14 at 00.50 hrs, near Inox Theatre-Panaji, accused Shoba Gaur w/o Hari Ramdas r/o Essar residency- Taleigao driving Swift car No.GA-09-A-1348 drove the same in a  rash and negligent  manner  under the influence of alcohol  while  proceeding  from Miramar to KTC-Panaji  in No Entry road and when reached near Inox Theatre-Panaji dashed a Hero Honda M/Cycle No.GA-01-Y-5395 which was  proceeding  from KTC  Panaji  towards  Miramar as a result of which rider namely Shri Sandesh Kuttikar sustained injuries to both legs and pillion rider namely Mr. Kaiser Braganza sustained head injuries which are grievous in nature. Cr.No.297/14 u/s 279, 338 IPC and Sec 119 and 184 of M.V. Act is registered.

3) On 21.07.14, dead body of unknown male, age about 45 to 50 yrs. was found lying near SBI ATM- Azadmaiden-Panaji. Body sent to GMC Morgue-Bambolim for preservation.  U.D.No.51/14 u/s 174 Cr. P. C. is registered.

CALANGUTE PS: Shri Shankar Chavan r/o Candolim complained that between 20.00 hrs. of 19.07.14 to 06.00 hrs., on 20.07.14 at new Arady-Candolim, unknown accused person committed theft of his Hero Splendor motor cycle No.GA-03-AA-3611 W/rs.38,880/- approx., which was parked in front of his house. Cr.No.183/14 u/s 379 IPC is registered. HC-N. Salgaonkar is I. O.

MAPUSA PS: Shri Dharmendra Prajapati r/o Parra- Bardez complained that between 06.07.14 to 09.00 hrs, on 21.07.14 at Parra towers- Parra Bardez, some unknown accused person stole his 2000 pieces of hand painting W/rs.1,50,000/- from inside his flat. Cr.No.315/14 u/s 380 IPC is registered. ASI R. V. Redkar is I. O.

PONDA PS: Miss Sujata d/o Vithal Gawas r/o Mollem-Sattari-Goa complained that on 21.07.14 at around 15.00 hrs. at Amona  Bridge on Khandola side, Ponda, accused  namely  Ramkrishna s/o  Vithal Gawas r/o  Mollem-Sattari-Goa  assaulted  her sister namely  Neeta  d/o  Vithal Gawas, age 23 yrs, on silly reason and mentally torturing  them by passing remarks, thereby  abated to commit  suicide. Cr.No.285/14 u/s 306 IPC is registered. PSI Satish Gaude is I.O.

SANGUEM PS: Shri Sajjan s/o Anand Desai r/o Sanguem complained that between 19.00 hrs. to 20.07.14 to 08.00 hrs, on 21.07.14 at Sanguem, some unknown culprit/s committed theft of cash of Rs.4000/- approx from the fundpeti box, one small copper   ringing bell, one copper laman diva, one copper samai and other puja articles such as steel plates, copper lamps etc. all W/rs.5000/- and total property W/rs.9,000/- from the open temple. Cr.No.17/14 u/s 380 IPC is registered.

02/11/2014 …. Central government has assured the state government to work out a solution over the dual citizenship issue with the next two months said chief minister Manohar parrikar

Addressing media persons at his residence at altinho chief minister Manohar parrikar said that along with the dual citizenship issue the environment ministry at the centre had cleared the 1 km buffer zone proposal in respect with the existing state mines

Parrikar said that he had also met the civil aviation minister and had asked for additional parking space for planes at the dabolim airport

Parrikar also stated that the IIT would start from the next academic year at a temporary place at a new building put up for pednem college till the institute had its fully campus ready

UNVEILING OF GFDC RISING STARS TROPHY

20/11/2016 … PANAJI: The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) unveiled the trophy and announced the qualifying teams for the Inter Centre League of ‘GFDC Rising Stars Football Festival’ Edition IV at the hands of GFDC Chairman, Dr. Rufino Monteiro, in the distinguished presence of GFDC council members, Shantaram Naik, Agnelo Fonseca and Socorro Vaz at GMC Stadium, Bambolim, on Sunday.

This festival will kick off this week with over 1,500 budding footballers aged under-13 vying for top honours. In the course of time, 120 matches will be conducted by GFDC with 91 teams across 38 centers. The grand finale will be held after the students finish with their final examinations of the academic year.

GFDC Council member, Shantaram Naik while addressing the trainees felt great pride in seeing young boys and girls in football attire and thanked GFDC for working so hard towards development of football and the young trainees. “We are in the fourth year and are promising that this initiative to promote football at the grassroots will be taken forward. I wish the trainees all the best in the inter centre tournament,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rufino Monteiro expressed pleasure over the success of the intra centre tournament. “As we kick off the GFDC Rising Stars Football Festival next week, I am very happy to see the skill and competitiveness displayed by my GFDC trainees. It augurs well for the future course of this tournament and for the rising standard of our state sport,” said Dr. Rufino.

“It is not an easy task to organise a tournament with 3,500 trainees and find the best. I would like to give credit to the coaches who have been successful in doing so.  From the previous edition few trainees have got into our academy and we do not stop at those 30. We have to now select a few more and spot the best talent,” he added.
