It may be noted in a post in March this year, Chodankar had in his facebook comment had stated that if Modi comes to power, he would unleash a ‘holocaust’, a post that the police claimed was later deleted.

Chodankar had posted the comment on March 23 and was summoned by Goa police on May 12. He has been booked under the contentious section 66A of the IT Act along with sections of 153(A) and 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code.

The FIR was registered by former chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industries Atul Pai Kane.

But on last Saturday Goa Police’s attempt to arrest deu for making anti-Narendra Modi comment was opposed by members of the Civil society activists who believed police interest in a Facebook post was draconian after which even a protest was held outside the police headquarters in Panaji on Saturday.

CHIEF MINISTER REVIEWES PROGRAMES UNDER DISTRICT MINERAL FUND

Panaji. July 01, 2019 … Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant reviewed the progress of various programs which are undertaken and planned under District Mineral Fund at a meeting held at Secretariat recently.

          The other areas which were reviewed included improvement of water supply, providing transport facilities to school children, creating self employment opportunities and desilting of paddy fields to rejuvenate agriculture.

The meeting also discussed some of the key initiatives to be planned in mining areas for implementation.

The meeting was attended by MLAs Shri Joshua D’Souza, Shri Prasad Gaonkar, Shri Glen Souza Ticlo, Shri Carlos Almeida, Shri Pravin Zantye, Shri Parimal Rai, IAS, Chief Secretary, Collectors of North and South and other senior Officers of the Government.

ARMY RECRUITMENT RALLY ON OCTOBER 28

Panaji:  October 9, 2015 … An Army Recruitment Rally for eligible male candidates of North and South Goa District for Soldier General Duty, Soldier Technical, Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical and Soldier Tradesman will be conducted at Sports Authority of Goa Athletics Stadium, Bambolim from October 28 to 30, 2015.

 The physical test, physical measurement test and documentation after clearing 1.6 km run for all the categories will be held on October 28 & 29, 2015.  The medical examination of candidates shortlisted on October 28, 2015 and October 29 will be held on October 29 and 30, 2015 respectively.

 The interested eligible candidates has to mandatory register themselves on Army recruiting website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in and after registration candidates are required to apply for the concerned rally and obtain a valid admit card for the rally their valid email ID.  There is no open rally system since September 2015.   No candidates will be entertained in the recruitment rally without a valid admit card generated by the website.

 The time for reporting at the rally site will be from 5.00 hrs to 8.00 hrs daily as per dates mentioned in the respective admit cards. Candidates reporting after the above mentioned timings will not be screened.

 The eligibility age criteria for Solder General duty is 17 ½ to 21 years with height of 166 cms., 50 kgs of weight and 77-82 of chest. The minimum educational qualification for candidates passed from Board with mark system being SSC/Matric with 45 marks in aggregate and 33 % in each subject while for board with grade system it is SSC/Matric with minimum D grade in each subject and min C2 grade or 4.75 points in overall aggregate.

 For Solder Technical the age limit is 17 ½ to 23 years on the first day of rally with height of 165 cms., 50 kgs of weight and 76-81 of chest.  The educational qualification being 10+2/Intermediate Examination pass in science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with min 45% marks in aggregate or 10th Pass with min 50% marks in aggregate if 3 years Diploma in Engg from an AICTE recognized institute.

 for Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical the age limit is 17 ½ to 23 years on the first day of rally with height of 162 cms., 50 kgs of weight and 77-82 of chest.  The educational qualification is 10+2/ Intermediate exam pass in any stream(Arts, Commerce, Science) with 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% in each subject. Candidate must have studied and passed English and Maths/Accts/Book Keeping as compulsory subject in 10th or 12th class. If a candidate is a graduate( any fd) with Maths/Acct/Book keeping and Eng(even elective) as one of the subjects, the stipulation of scoring 40% marks in Maths/Eng in class XII or class X and scoring 50% marks in aggregate in class is waived off. If a candidate is a graduate but not having Eng and Maths/Acct/Book Keeping at graduate level, he should have scored min 40% marks in Eng and Maths/Acct/Book Keeping at least once in Class XII or Class X.

 For Soldier Technical the age limit is 17 ½ to 23 years on the first day of rally with height of 166 cms., 48 kgs of weight and 76-81 of chest.  The educational qualification required is 10th simple pass for all trades except House Keeper and Mess Keeper or Min CI VII pass for House Keeper and Mess Keeper.

  The candidates should bring the following documents in original and two xerox sets of all documents duly attested by Gazetted officers authorized to attest. Admit card for rally as generated after online registration and application through army web site www.joinindianarmy.nic.in; matriculation, 10+2 certificates, graduation and diploma certificates and mark sheets as applicable. Non matric candidates will produce class 8th and 9th pass certificates issued by the Principals /Headmaster with stamp of their respective schools for recruitment; Bonafied/School leaving certificate and Aadhar Card; Domicile certificate signed by District Magistrate or authority authorized to sign by the State Government; Caste and Character Certificate duly signed by the competent authority; Nagar Sevak/Sarpanch Dakhla and Police Patil Dakhla certificate from relevant police station not more than six months old on date of screening; candidate having certificate for National Cadet Corps, Industrial Technical Institute, participation in sports at state, national or international level, computer literate, polytechnic qualified or any skilled /tech qualification must produce such certificates; 14 copies of latest colour photographs passport size from same negative without cap and face front side(both ear to be seen)

 Certificates with over writing or tampering of seals or erasing of any type will not be accepted. Candidature on production of provisional board certificates will be provisional. Candidates must produce original board certificate as soon as possible.

 All Ex-servicemen should send their discharge book and relationship certificate of their sons from their respective record offices concerned. Serving soldier should produce their relationship certificate.

 Candidates below 18 years of age are requested to bring an authority letter from their parents/guardian with the following written in Hind/English. “There is no objection from parents/Guardian of the child on his joining the army. They are sending their child with their consent to join the army”.

 The candidate coming for rally should be in possession of packed breakfast/lunch.

 The NCC certificate holders/SOS/SOEX/ SOW/SOWW and sports person will be screened on both days.  

UDAAN: PROJECT GIVES WINGS TO GIRL STUDENTS

GOVERNOR DISCUSSES CLEANLINESS PROGRAMME WITH SARPANCHAS

 Panaji, January 9, 2015  … The Governor of Goa Smt. Mridula Sinha recently held  a meeting with Sarpanchas of North Goa to discuss with them various measures to be implemented for keeping the Village Panchayat areas clean as part of the Swatchcha Bharat, Nitoll Goem campaign.

The meeting held at Raj Bhavan was also attended by Minister for Panchayats Shri Dayanand Mandrekar, Secretary (Panchayats) Shri P. Mathew Samuels  and Director of Panchayats Shri Gurudas Pilankar and all Sarpanchas of North Goa.

In her opening remarks the Governor underscored the need to keep areas in villages clean which she said is a constitutional obligation . She said the Panchayats should involve everyone  especially voluntary organizations in this important task of Swachcha Bharat, Nitoll Goem campaign.

The Governor further said that in order to keep village areas clean there is need to develop necessary infrastructure for disposal of garbage and for this thorough involvement of Sarpanchas is necessary.

The Governor expressed happiness that Goans are committed to work toward the Swachcha Bharat programme and hoped that Goa would become the number one state in this campaign.

Panchayat Minister Shri Dayanand Mandrekar said the various issues raised by Village Sarpanchas will be looked into by the Government.  He said the main issues are identifying places for dumping/disposal of garbage on the roadside needs to be looked into.

The Minister expressed happiness that such a meeting has been held to create awareness among Sarpanchas on various issues of cleanliness and thanked the Governor for taking such a initiative.

The meeting discussed at length issues like Health and sanitation, cleanliness drive by respective village Panchayats, effective enforcement of legal provision to arrest the trend of illegal garbage dumping on roadsides, provision of toilets wherever required, involvement of villagers in Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan, funds for collection of  garbage, and various other issues related to cleanliness drive.
