CM INAUGURATES DISTRIBUTION OF COCONUTS UNDER GOVT INITIATIVE TO CONTROL PRICE RISE

Panaji: February 03, 2018 …. The Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar today, distributed coconuts at the Goa State Horticultural Ltd. outlet in Altinho. While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that this was an initiative aimed at making it convenient for the people to buy coconuts at affordable rates.

          The Chairperson of the Goa State Horticultural, Shri Pravin Zantye said that the scheme was being implemented on a no profit, no loss basis.

Former Panaji MLA, Shri Sidharth Kuncalienker told the gathering that the coconuts were being sourced directly from farm to the market from where the Government was buying from the farm and making them available to the people at affordable rates. “It is our endeavour to protect Goan staple food,” he said adding that was a “good initiative in the interest of all Goenkars.”

          Shri Jayesh Salgaonkar, Minister for Housing and Rural Development was also present on the occasion.

          Shri Madhav Kelkar, Managing Director, Goa Horticultural Corporation, said that the “This sale of coconuts was being done under the scheme of Government Intervention to Control Price Rise.”

          Under the scheme, 15 coconuts per family will be made available once in 15 days. Customers will have to produce gas consumer card to avail of the benefit. Customers are to approach Goa State Horticultural outlets in their jurisdiction only.

‘DONBASS’ BAGS GOLDEN PEACOCK

Panaji, November 28, 2018 … ‘Donbass’ directed by Sergie Lonznitsa bagged the prestigious Golden Peacock Award at the 49th International Film Festival of India (IIFI 2018).

The Closing Ceremony of the 49th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) was held at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor stadium, Taleigao, today. The function was graced by Governor of Goa, Smt. Mridula Sinha, Governor of Punjab, and Shri. V.P. Singh Badnore, Minister of Tourism (IC), Shri K.J. Alphons, Minister for Ayush (IC), Shri Shripad Naik, Minister of Town and Country Planning, Shri Vijai Sardesai, Minister for Power, Shri Nilesh Cabral, Minister for Tourism, Shri Manohar Ajgaonkar, Shri. Dharmendra Sharma, IAS, CEO Entertainment Society of Goa, Shri Amey Abhyankar IAS, eminent jury members, and film personalities among others.

Minister for Town and Country Planning, Shri Vijai Sardesai, while speaking on the occasion said that they can be no better place to host IFFI than Goa. He said that IFFI has enriched the Goan filmmaking talent. IFFI’s journey in Goa began with the vision of the Chief Minister, Shri. Manohar Parrikar.  Shri Sardesai also Paid homage to Italian director, Bernardo Bertolucci, who passed away recently.

Earlier, the Secretary, Information and Broadcasting, Shri Amit Khare, IAS, welcomed the gathering. In his address, he said that the authorities will try to enhance facilities at IFFI for the forthcoming 50th IFFI next year.

Shri. Salim Khan was honored with a Special IFFI Award for Lifetime Contribution to the cinema. The award was received on his behalf by his son Shri. Arbaaz Khan. The ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Award was bagged by ‘Walking with the Wind directed by Pravin Morchlle.  Centenary Award of Best Debut Film of a Director was awarded to ‘Respoto’ by Alberto Monteras II while Special Jury Award was presented to German film ‘Aga’. A Special Mention Award was given to films – ‘Volcano’ and ‘To let’.

The Silver Peacock for Best Actor (Female) was bagged by Ms. Anastasia Pustov (When the tress falls) while Shri. Chembon Vinod (Ee Maa Yove) received the Silver Peacock in the Best Actor (male) category. Shri. Lijo Jose Pellisery received the Silver Peacock for Best Director for his movie ‘Ee Maa Yove’.

          Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, via a video recording, conveyed his best wishes to the IFFI participants and also invited everyone to be a part of 50th IFFI 2019.

 The closing ceremony was followed by the screening of the movie ‘Sealed Lips’ at Kala Academy.

10/09/2014 … President of the Bharatiya Janata party goa state vinay tendulakr has said that the bjp led government under the leadership of chief minister Manohar parrikar had almost completed most of his promises assured to the goans while mr parrikar had assumed the charge of goa’s chief minister

Mr tendulkar was speaking to media reporters on Tuesday a day on which the parrikar led government in the state had completed its two and half year term in the state of goa

It may be noted that the Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manohar Parrikar was sworn in on 9th of march in 2012 for the third time as the chief minister of Goa after the BJP-MGP combine had staked its claim to form the government with the support of 26 legislators.

The Manohar Parrikar-led Goa government who had have achieved success to a certain extent have been facing the impending crisis due to the halt in the state mining industry.

Mr tendulkar said that almost 85% of the promises made by the present bjp led government had reached out to goa made by the Parrikar led government in the state during its last two and half year tenure

Though not commenting openly Tendulkar hinted out stating that the party was of the opinion of having a review reshuffle of the Parrikar led cabinet which could be done only after chief minister discusses with the party core group committee members

GOA TO OBSERVE DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST CHIEF MINISTER ON AUG. 12

Panaji, August  08, 2018 …. Goa will observe the death anniversary of its first Chief Minister  late Shri Dayanand B.  Bandodkar on Sunday, August 12. Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Dr. Pramod Sawant along with the Council of Ministers and other dignitaries will  pay floral tributes on the  Samadhi of the departed leader  at Maramar at 8.45 a.m. and pay their  homage.

Thereafter the dignitaries will proceed to Old Secretariat, Panaji and pay tributes to the life size statue of  the leader at 9.00 am followed by garlanding of the statue of Late Shri Bandodkar at the Secretariat Complex at Porvorim at 9.15 a.m.

Master Scriptwriter Salim Khan to be presented with IFFI Special Award at IFFI 2018 Closing Ceremony, for his Lifetime Contribution to Cinema

Panaji: 26 NOV 2018 … The master scriptwriter Shri Salim Khan would be honoured by the IFFI Special Award for his lifetime contribution to cinema, at the closing ceremony of the 49thedition of the International Film Festival of India, Goa, on November 28, 2018.

This was announced today, by the Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting (I/C), Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore,on Twitter.

Salim Khan was born on November 24, 1935 in Indore. As a master screenwriter, he is known for having penned the masterful screenplays of several super-hit films such asDeewar,Zanjeerand many others, and in particularSholay,one of the greatest hits of Indian cinema.He has registered a memorable contribution as an actor and producer as well.

 

AIIMS-Like Institutes in the States

23/07/2014 … The Central Government has plans to set up AIIMS in each State in a phased manner under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) with the objective of correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable/reliable tertiary healthcare services and also for augmenting facilities for quality medical education in the country.

Four new AIIMS, one each in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Vidharba in Maharasthtra and Poorvanchal in Uttar Pradesh are under consideration. The Ministry has requested Chief Ministers of various States to identify appropriate locations for setting up of AIIMS.

The State concerned has to provide, free of cost land measuring 200 acres and other required infrastructure such as suitable road connection, sufficient water supply, electricity connection of required load and regulatory/statutory clearances. Cost of construction and running of the new AIIMS would be met by the Central Government under PMSSY.

After receipt of communication from the State, the identified locations are to be inspected by Central Teams before finalization of location.

Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh have responded so far. These responses are being examined in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The Health Minister stated this in a written reply in the RajyaSabha on tuesday

03/12/2015 …. While welcoming the opening of regional plan 2021 by his government in the state Calangute mla Michael lobo has said that he was against the issue of agricultural lands and thick forest in the state of being converted in to settlement for development in to the state of goa
 
Speaking to goanreporter.com calangute mla Michael lobo said that deliberate decisions of the earlier government where in paddy fields were converted earlier were needed to be reversed so that a good regional plan 2021 could come out and development in the state could take place in the right direction
 
Mr lobo said that his calangute constituency was till date following regional plan and were welcoming the state government decision on regional plan and strongly felt that paddy fields and thick forests in the state should not be converted …

HELPLINE TO MONITOR ILLEGAL SAND MINING

Panaji, September 21, 2018 …. The Collectorate North Goa has set up helpline at North Goa Collectorate Office for redressal of complaints pertaining to illegal sand mining.

The special control room has been set up by the North Goa Collectorate,     on first floor, the phone numbers are 2225383/2225083. The helpline which is set up for disaster management purpose will also function as helpline for the purpose.

This is with reference to the directions issued by High court of Bombay with regards to monitoring of sand mining and illegal sand extraction by the state Government.
