KHAUNTE INAUGURATES INTERNATIONAL BLOCKCHAIN CONGRESS

Panaji :::  August 5, 2018 … Revenue and IT Minister, Shri Rohan Khaunte inaugurated the International Blockchain Congress organised by National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog in collaboration  with Department of Information and Technology, Government of Goa and Nucleus Vision International at Inox  Panaji today .

 Shri Rohan Khaunte at the interactive session expressed that Goa being a small State with good connectivity, is the right place to kick start blockchain. Goa is right in time to catch the latest technology and is very serious and committed to look at new enabling systems. The government is working very closely to ensure good governance and to make Goa as the destination for It hub in the world. A lot of policies are framed to get good talents in the State, he added.

 Rohan Khaunte said that things like Blockchain is required for good governance. Block chain is like a public registry of what happens, who owns, who transact, medium where all information comes together. He further said the best part of blockchain in good governance is required in today’s world  as it collects data, builds layer and it doesn’t erase the past.

International blockchain Congress aims to bring  together renowned speakers and thought leaders to deliberate on how we can make India the next blockchain capital of the world.

DM SOUTH ISSUES ORDER RESTRICTING GUEST/ VISITORS

Panaji, August  05, 2018 … The District Magistrate, South Goa  District Margao has issued order under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, directing that Owners/Management of all Hotels, Lodging and Boarding, Private Guest Houses, Paying Guest Accommodation, Temporary Residential Accommodation of all religious bodies to prohibit any visitors/guest to check in without providing any photo identity proof such as Election Card, Driving License, Smart Card, Employment Card, Aadhar Card or any other dully issued by Government. A self attested copy of same may be retained for records.

No landlords/ tenants/owner/ person of any house/property which falls under the territorial jurisdiction of South Goa District, Goa shall let/sublet/rent out any accommodation to any person unless and until or he/she has furnished the particulars of the tenants to the Police In Charge  of the concerned area.

The In charges of such accommodation  will provide such facilities for inspection of the record to Police authorities or any other authority authorized by the undersigned if so desired by them.

This order will come into force with effect from July 25, 2018 and will remain in operation for a period of 60 days (both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier.

STATE AWARD TO TEACHERS 2017-18

Panaji, August  04, 2018 … Directorate of Education has invited applications in the prescribed proforma for State Awards to Teaches 2017-18.  State Government has declared 10 State Awards to teachers.  Each Awards will consists of Rs.100,000/- in cash and a citation.

State Awards to Teachers working in the institutions of School Education is divided as Primary Teachers two awards (one in each District) Secondary Teacher four awards (two in each District) Higher School Headmaster two awards (one in each District) Higher Secondary Teacher (one awards one in entire State) Higher Secondary Principal one award one in entire State. The last date to receive the applications by  Adm.III Section of the Directorate is August 10, 2018. The applications received after due date will not be considered.

Any in-Service teachers, who havethe required academic and professional qualifications, as per cadre only eligible.  They should complete 20 years of regular teaching service as on June 30, 2017 that too in the State of Goa only. The teachers serving in particular cadre will be eligible for award in that cadre only. Such teachers will apply for the award in that category in which they are presently working. Heads of the institution being a teacher is also eligible. The retired teachers and teachers who are due for retirement during academic year are not eligible. In case, if   no sufficient, suitable and eligible teacher/Head of the Institution is available in that category the Government need not declare the award. 50% of the awards will be given to the teachers/Heads below 45 years of age  to encourage them.

Proposal  should be submitted in prescribed porforma which are available ADEI office of all talukas. Teachers who are eligible should fill part-I of the Prescribed proforma and submit the same to the Head of the respective School. The School Managing Committee of the respective school recommend the name/s of eligible and meritorious teachers/s from among eligible teachers of the school through respective zones after filling part II of the prescribed proforma.

Proposal should not be send directly to Education Department office by the schools.  The Dy. Directorate of Education/Dy. Educational Officer from the respective Zones will offer his/her comments on Part-III of the  Prescribed proforma for onwards submission to Adm.III Section of this Directorate.    

MONTHLY PROGRESS REPORT OF DEPT. OF COOPERATION

Panaji, August  04, 2018 … The report on the important events of the Department of Cooperation for the month of June, 2018 is as follows : There were 4 changes in Coop. Laws, Rules and Model Bye-laws. The number of cases engaged in public distribution in rural and urban areas were nil. The Total amount of loan advanced by Goa State Co.op Housing Finance and Federation was nil. The Loans and Advances by Goa State Co.op  Bank Ltd; Panaji was 2136.39 lakhs.

67 Coop. Societies were audited during June,  2018. 65 members have been enrolled during the month of June, 2018. The amount of loan recovered by the Coop. Bank and other institutions was Rs. 177.73 lakhs and the amount of loan recovered by the Goa State Housing Finance and Federation Ltd. was Rs. 47.80 lakhs.

 During the month of June, 2018, 16,89,938.0 liters of milk from local and 3,41,600.0 litres of milk from outside State has been procured by Goa  State Coop. Milk Producer’s Union Ltd., Curti, Ponda.

A total of 8 Societies were registered during the month of June, 2018.

BUS ARRANGEMENT FOR FREEDOM FIGHTERS ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

Panaji, August  3, 2018 … Home Department has made arrangement of the Kadamba Bus bearing No. GA-03-X-602 which will be parked near ‘Hutatma Chowk’, Mapusa at 8.00 a.m on  August 15, 2018. The bus will collect the freedom fighters from Mapusa and proceed to Panaji to attend the Independence  Day function at at 8.45 a.m.

After the function at Old Secretariat, Panaji buses parked near Old Secretariat, Panaji will proceed to Patradevi. PONDA PRATRAKAR SANGH FELICITATES RASIKA NAIK AND NILESH NAIK

PANAJI :3rd August 2018 ::: Ponda Pratrakar Sangh a noted organisation belonging to Journalist fraternity in Ponda taluka recently felicitated Smt. Rasika Naik, a translator from Department of Information and Publicity and Noted freelance Journalist and Photographer Shri. Nilesh Naik for their contribution in respective fields at a function held at Municipal hall, Ponda. Noted Journalist and Photographer Shri. Nilesh Naik also felicitated by the organisation for his contribution towards journalism.

Present on the occasion were former Chief Minister and MLA, Ponda Constituency Shri. Ravi Naik, Vice Chairman, Ponda Municipal Council Shri. Lekhnath Dalvi, Joint Director, Information of Publicity Department Shri. Ramesh Naik, Councillor, Shri. Ritesh Naik, Anand Naik, Senior journalist and freedom fighter Shri. Naik in the span of 25 years of  her service in the Department of Information and Publicity played significant role in disseminating information to media persons during National and State level functions and also international events held in Goa such as BRICS, visits of  the President of India, Prime Ministers and other VVIPs to Goa. She also contributed to official magazine `Nave Parva` which is being published by DIP.

NATIONAL DEWORMING DAY ON AUG 10

Panaji, August  2, 2018 …. Part of deworming day i.e on August 10, 2018 in all pre school and school age childrens between 1 to 19 years of age half to one Albendazole tablet will be provided. This will improve the overall health of the childrens nutritional status, access to education and quality of life.

National Deworming Day was launched earlier by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

All parents, guardians, teachers, anganwadi workers and the  public in large to participate and cooperate to make National Deworming Day a success as requested by Directorate of Health Services.

SPECIAL DRIVE AGAINST USE OF MOBILE WHILE RIDING / DRIVING

Panaji : 1st August, 2018 … In order to curtail the menace of using mobile phones while riding / driving, this being one of the major causes for road accidents and fatalities on roads in Goa, the Traffic Police will be under taking a Special Drive against such violators from August 01, 2018. If anyone is found using mobile while riding / driving, apart from imposing fine his / her Driving License will be impounded and sent to Transport Department for Suspension.

          To avoid such harsh punishment and loss of life and property, all are requested to desist from using mobile while riding / driving and drive safely and responsibly.

APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR ‘MERIT BASED AWARD’

Panaji : 1st August, 2018 … The Government is implementing a scheme titled “Merit Based Award”. The objective of the scheme is to motivate students by giving merit based Award based on the benchmark of the performance and to provide financial incentive to high performing students who are economically weak. The scheme is implemented through the Directorate of Social Welfare.

Applications are invited from Dhangar students who have passed Std Xth and  XIIth examination during the year 2017 and who fulfill eligibility criteria mentioned below:

a) Students securing marks in the range (between 50% to 59.99%) will be given a financial award of Rs.5000/-, b) Students securing marks in the range (between 60% to 69.99%) will be given a financial award of Rs.8000/-, c) Students securing marks in the range (between 70% to 74.99%) will be given a financial award of Rs.10,000/-, and Students securing 75% marks and above will be given a financial award of Rs.15000/-.

Under the scheme, the annual family income of Dhangar students shall not exceed Rs.2 lakhs, amongst Dhangar students the first five rank holders of SSC, first five rank holders of HSSC Board exams (separately for all the streams of Science, Commerce, Arts and Vocational) will be felicitated at a public function.

The eligible applicant should submit the application by August 31, 2018 to the Office of the Directorate of Social Welfare, Panaji-Goa.

LOKMANYA TILAK DEATH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED AT SECRETARIAT

August 1, 2018 ….  Chief Minister Shri. Manohar Parrikar garlanded the portrait of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and paid homage to the great leader in a function organized at Legislative Assembly Complex in Porvorim on the occasion of Lokmanya Tilak Death Anniversary today.

Chief Secretary Shri. Dharmendra Sharma IAS, Secretaries of various other departments and staff of Legislative Assembly attended the function and paid homage to the great leader.
