GST DAY CELEBRATED

Panaji : July 3, 2018 … The GST commissionerate and the central excise department at Goa celebrated GST Day yesterday to mark the first anniversary of the new indirect tax regime. The department honoured its officers on the occasion to motivate them and create awareness.

Shri Mauvin Godinho, Minister for Panchayat, Animal Husbandry and veterinary services who represented Goa in GST Council was the chief guest. 

Shri Mauvin Godinho said that GST is a historic step in country’s in tax regime. He said that he is fortunate to represent Goa in GST council. Minister praised GST council for real time solutions on any of the grievances raised by any state.

Shri Mauvin Godinho said that he has raised the concerns of hotel industry in GST council, but because of ill health Shri Arun Jaitley could not attended last meeting. In next GST council meet we will have definitely some solution, he assured.

GST will help in the upliftment of the common man and will also help India to become superpower in near future, he further said.

SINGLE JOINT SITE INSPECTION FOR ISSUE OF CONSTRUCTION PERMITS/LICENCE

Panaji: July 02, 2018 … Department of Urban Development in a circular issued has informed that Government has approved the system of single joint site inspection by all the concerned authorities with the ULBs being the Nodal Agency to simplify the procedure for issue of construction permits/licenses

The Commissioner of Corporation of the City of Panaji and Chief Officers of all the Municipal Councils have been directed to strictly adhere to the directions that, after obtaining the approval and technical clearance from the Town and Country Planning Department, the Applicant will submit the application for construction license to the Corporation of the City of Panaji/Municipal Council concerned as the case may be.

 It is further informed that ULBs shall fix a date of the convening the Joint Inspection and inform all the Departments and the applicant accordingly. ‘A’ and ‘B’ Class Municipalities may convene the joint inspection once in a week and the ‘C’ Class Municipalities may convene this joint inspection once in a fortnight.

It is further stated that, the single joint inspection report will comprise of the inspection recommendations of all concerned Departments within a stipulated time frame of 15 days with provisions for the applicant to selectively extract Department specific observations as listed in the report.

BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES ORGANISES GENERAL INFORMATION COURSE

Panjim :July 01, 2018 … The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Goa State recently organised a one day General Information Course for untrained Scout masters and Guide captains on June 25, 2018 at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji

Around 69 teachers from various Schools from Goa attended the course. The teachers were appraised about the origin, fundamentals of Scouting, advancements of Scouts and Guides, Syllabus from Pravesh to Rashtrapati Puraskar and Skill of Knotting.

Speaking on the occasion Shri.P.R.Nadkarni highlighted the opportunities available to Scouts ,Guides and adult leaders at School , the District , State, National and also International level, he further urged to the teachers to create interest among themselves to train the Scouts and Guides following Scouting ideals for good Citizenship

Earlier  State Secretary Shri.James Fernandes welcomed the gathering  Shri. Diogo Fernandes, Shri.R.V.Rane , Shri.Mukund Kambli, Smt Shobha Mhadgut, Shri. Suraj George assisted in the Course.

SHRI AZGAONKAR FELICITATES MERITORIOUS STUDENTS

Panaji:-July 01, 2018 … Minister for Tourism Shri Manohar Azgaonkar felicitated meritorious students for their outstanding performance in the S.S.C examination held in the year 2017-2018. The function was organised by Parent’s Teacher’s Association of the school.

Smt.Sonali Pawar, Sarpanch, Shri Krishna Naik and Shri Attmaram Naik, Pancha Member, Shri Dadu Parab, Head Master of Government High School Hankhane Pernem,Shri Lavu Naik,Chairman P.T.A. were present on the occasion.

 Shri Azgaonkar congratulated the meritorious students and appreciated parents and teachers for their hard work in achieving better results in this academic year. He said, gaining educational knowledge contributes for the all round development and achieve success in life. Shri Azgaonkar also urged parents and teachers to encourage students to participate in sports related activities.

Earlier Shri Azgaonkar, distributed poultries to 30 women at Village Panchayt Dhargal. Provided by GMR Goa International Airport Limited and GMR Varalakshmi Foundation in collaboration with Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Rural Development Agency.

 The function was also attended by Shri Bhaskar Narulkar, Director RDA, Shri Milind Paidarkar and officials of Directorate of Animal Husbandry.

MUSICAL DANCE PERFORMANCE OF GOAN FOLK ON JULY 1

Panaji, June 30, 2018 … The Directorate of Art  and Culture, Government of Goa in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Goa and Shree Nagesh Maharudra Bhajani Mandal, Curca, Tiswadi will be organizing a Musical Dance Performance of Goan Folk Dance and Songs by Saraswati Kala Mandal, Kelbai, Curti, Ponda under Horizon Series of ICCR at Shree Nagesh  Mahadurga Temple, Curca, Tiswadi on Sunday July 1, 2018 at 7.00 p.m.

Saraswati Kala Mandal a Goan folk group from Curti, Ponda have presented their performance not only in various parts of Goa at different festivals organised by West Zone Cultural  Centre, Udaipur, in various states of India. And now ICCR have taken initiative to organise performance of Goan folk dance, music and songs at different rural areas of Goa under Horizon series of ICCR to promote Goan folk dance and music. The presentation is soulful and infused with robust performances of its impeccable cast who are not only talented and skilled but are equally experimentative.

          The Department of Art and Culture has requested the music and dance lovers to attend this programme in large number.

REGIONAL EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGE APPEALS TO REGISTER FOR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Panaji, June 29, 2018 … The Regional Employment Exchange has appealed to all valid Employment Exchange card holders and non registered Job Aspirants, Public and Private sector Employers, Skill Providers, Counselors, Local Service Providers, Placement Organizations and all other Stake holders to register on www.ncs,gov.in to avail the employment opportunities and services.

State Government is likely to implement the NCS online portal by streamlining the services of Employment Exchange.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India has implemented National Career Service (NCS) initiative by transforming the processes in the network of Government run Employment Exchanges. The transformation has been done by leveraging information technology to enhance the quality and quantity of employment services.

NCS has been implemented through a national portal on www.ncs.gov.in backed with a helpdesk. In addition, Model Career Centres (MCCs) established across different parts of the country will act as a nodal outreach agency to provide all career-related and employment-related services to jobseekers, employers and other important stakeholders.

MOPA LAND WILL REMAIN WITH GOVERNMENT-CIVIL AVIATION

 Panaji, June 28, 2018 .. The Directorate of Civil Aviation, in regard to the statement made by Shri Dayanand Sopte, MLA Mandrem on Mopa Airport Project  has clarified that Government has given only the Right of Way to GMR with respect to the land for construction of the Mopa Airport.

The ownership of the land will remain with the Government and the land is not mortgaged by GMR to get loan from the lenders. Further, it is informed that the revenue share payable by the Concessionaire to the Government is 36.99%.

TWO NEW ELEVATORS TO BE INSTALLED AT SHRAMA SHAKTI BHAVAN

 Panjim : June 27, 2018 …  Commissioner, Labour and Employment has  informed that the work order for installation of two new elevators at Shram Shakti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji  has already been awarded by Public Works Department (P.W.D.) and the same would be commissioned by September, 2018.

          It is further informed that, to avoid inconvenience to the public, PWD has commenced the work of repairs of one elevator and the same is expected to be operational by Monday on July 02, 2018.

PURI SOUGHT COOPERATION OF TRADERS IN MAKING DELHI BETTER

Panaji: 26 june 2018: In the wake of DDA approving amendments in Master Plan, a delegation of prominent trade leaders of Delhi under the umbrella of the Confederation of All India India Traders (CAIT) today met Union Urban Development Minister Shri Hardeep Puri and complimented him for taking pro-active steps in bring much desired amendments which will be beneficial for about 5 lakh Traders in Delhi.

The CAIT urged Mr Puri to augment the process of notifying the amendments and as a result of which all those properties sealed but cover under the amendments should be de-sealed.

CAIT Secretary General Mr Praveen Khandelwal who led the delegation expressed all praise for Mr Puri and Delhi LG Mr Anil Baijal for doing their best in bringing relief to traders. It is for the first time that Government has strongly supported traders for protecting them against sealing & demolition. Although many other core issues pertaining to sealing are pending but it is hoped that with active consideration of the Govt, issues will be resolved.

While talking to the delegation, Mr Puri emphasised the need of an active role of trade association in making Delhi a better living city free from encroachment . Mr Puri sought voluntary coooeration & support of Trade Associations in cleaning operations of Delhi. However, he assured the delegation that Govt is alive to their problems and employment & earning of every person will be protected at all cost. He also said that no sealing will be conducted in Delhi without giving a proper notice. At all cost course of law will be followed. Suitable instructions have already given to MCD & other Agencies. Not even a single case of harassment or victimisation will be tolerated.

Mr. Khandelwal reminded Mr Puri that few burning issues  still needs attention of the Govt included removal of confusion in special area and as such till Re-Development Plan of special area is made, there should not be any penal action. The LSCs declared in 1998 should be charged the rate prevailing in 1998. The colonies like Greater Kailash, South Extension and Green Park which were developed by DLF should be enlisted in Rehabilitation Colony since all colonies developed by DLF have been categorised as Rehabilitation Colony. The usage of basement should be allowed on Mixed land and Pedestrian Street.

TWO DAYS MEGA EVENT KALA SRUJANOTSAV-2018 CONCLUDES

Panaji: June 25,2018 …. The Governor of Goa Dr. ( Smt. ) Mridula Sinha said that  the idea of get together by Government Employees  through Sarkari Karmachari Sauskrutik Manch is worthy of appreciation. This she said in long run will help them to generate sense of understanding among them and redress their woes and evolve with constructive ideas in the interest of the State of Goa.

Dr Sinha was speaking as Chief Guest during the concluding ceremony of two day mega event Kala Srujanotsav-2018 organized by Sarkari Karmachari Sauskrutik Manch in collaboration with the Directorate of Art & Culture in  Kala Academy  Campal Panaji  on Sunday.

Dr. Sinha said that Government employees are bound to have inborn  qualities  of art and  this platform has  provided them opportunity to showcase the same.

          The Governor also said that formation of Government Employees cultural forum is  a very good initiative as it will also  help them to come together and discuss about various issues of their concern  and of the state to evolve with constructive solution and ideas etc.  Their participation in this event to showcase their art talent will provide them with happiness and relief from the tension and burden  of  their routine work she added.  

The Secretary Finance and  Art & Culture, Shri Daulat Hawaldar who was the guest of honour for the function while speaking said that the Goa is blessed with art which exists in every person. The two day  programme  of Kala Srujanotsav-2018 as excellent and extraordinary with   large participation by the Government employees. He said human life is incomplete without art. Because  art makes human life worth living.

In order to make the celebration a mega event, the organizing committee of SKSM apart from  organizing  various cultural activities also organized competitions in eight various disciplines for the employees. The disciplines includes monologue, singing (Solo, duets ), poetry recitation, comedy act ( group,  solo ) Quiz, Fashion show, drawing etc. The winners of these competitions were given prizes at the hands of Governor and other dignitaries.
