RICH TRIBUTES PAID TO COPS ON POLICE COMMEMORATION DAY

October 21, 2014 …. Police Commemoration Day 2014, was observed in Goa today along with other parts of the country. Tributes were paid to those who laid down their lives, while performing their duties. Every year, October 21 is observed as police commemoration day in memory of CRPF personnel, who were killed by the Chinese in 1959.

The arms were reversed by the Police at the Martyrs Memorial, to pay homage to the departed souls.

Every year on October 21, rich tributes are paid to the policemen who sacrifice their lives while discharging their duties. The day is observed as the National Police Commemoration Day, in their remembrance. The history behind the observance of this day on October 21 is said to be that in 1959, on the same day, twenty Indian soldiers were attacked by the Chinese troops in Ladakh, during which ten were killed and seven were imprisoned and others managed to escape. The dead bodies of the martyred policemen were handed over to India by the Chinese troops on November 28, 1959 and then, their cremation was held with full Police honours at the Hot springs in Ladakh.

The names of 662 Police Martyrs and paramilitary forces who have lost their lives in service of the country during 1.9.2013 to 31.8.2014 were  read out by the DGP  to acknowledge with pride the supreme sacrifices made by them.

After the commemoration parade, DGP and other Police Officers laid wreathes at the martyrs memorial  in commemoration of the Police personnel who have lost their lives while on duty and in combating enemy.

Others who were present were Deputy Inspector General of Police, Shri V. Ranganathan, S.Ps, Dy. S.Ps , Police  Medical Officer, retired police officers, Representatives of Home Guards and Civil Defence organisation and others.

Goa police paid rich tributes to 663 police and paramilitary personnel from across the country killed in action over the past one year between September 1, 2013 andAugust 31,  2014,  as   a partof Police Commemoration Day on Tuesday

A parade was held at Goa Police Headquarters, Panaji, to mark the occasion and arms were reversed and two minutes silence was observed in the honour of the departed souls.

Director General of Goa Police, Mr T.N. Mohan IPS,  who paid tributes to the martyrs  at the memorial, earlier in his brief  speech said that the history of commemoration day traces back to October 21, 1959, when a patrol party of CRPF, led by SI Karam Singh, was ambushed by the Chinese forces at Hot Springs Ladakh and 10 Jawans were killed.

He read out the names of  the police personnel who died on duty during the past one year.

DIG V. Renganathan, IPS, Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Police Inspectors, other officers, Representatives of Home Guards and Civil Defence, retired police officers, and other members of Goa Police placed wreaths on the police memorial.

The day is observed in the memory of brave Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) jawans who laid down their lives, while fighting the Chinese insurgents in Ladakh.

On October 21 every year, commemoration parades are held in all police units as a mark of respe

OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTHS TO JOIN THE ARMY AND AIR FORCE

October 19, 2014 …. There are excellent opportunities for  youths to join the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force in the ranks and serve the nation.

District Collector North Goa Smt.  Neela Mohanan,IAS today held discussions with the concerned officials of the administration for the smooth conduct of the rally. Representatives from the Directorate of Health Services, Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Directorate of Education, Directorate of Transport, Kadamba Transport Corporation, Department of Information and Publicity, Department of Sainik Welfare, Director Recruiting, Army recruiting Officer, Kolhapur, Commanding Officer, 6, Airmen Selection Centre, Mumbai,  Deputy Collectors/SDO’s of Bicholim and Ponda attended the meeting.

The District Magistrate also appointed Liason Officers and Executive Magistrates at Panjim, Bicholim and Ponda for the rallies.

An Open Army recruitment rally will be conducted by the Army Recruiting Office, Kolhapur  for eligible youth of Goa state from November 12 to July 14  at 6 Technical Training Regiment Ponda and  Government Polytechnic, Mayem, Bicholim while  Airmen Selection Centre, Mumbai is conducting an open Indian Air force recruitment rally on  November 11 to 13 at the Sports Authority of Goa grounds at Campal, Panaji.

The Army rally is being conducted to recruit soldiers for the post of soldier technical, general duty, clerk, store-keeper technical and soldier tradesman. The minimum age is 17-and-a-half years and maximum is 23 years. Candidates below 18 years age should bring a consent letter from their parents and married candidates below 21 years will not be allowed to enroll into the army. Candidates have to undergo physical fitness test, physical measurement test, and medical examination.

The candidates should report at the 6 Technical Training Regiment at Ponda at 5 am to 8 am.  The candidates appearing after  8 am will not be screeneds. The candidates should produce all certificates in original and Photostat copies including education, nativity, community/caste, date of birth, character certification from the village Sarpanch/administrative officer in English and NCC/Sports. They should also carry 14 passport sized photographs with name and date of birth printed on the bottom.

The candidates passing in 1.6 km run at 6 TTR Ponda will be moved to Government Polytechnic grounds, Bicholim for registration, Physical Fitness Test, Physical Measurement test and Documentation.Medical Exam of the shortlisted candidates will be held on November 14, 2014.

Indian Air Force offers opportunities for unmarried Male citizens from Goa. The IAF, offers attractive salary and other benefits to its personnel. The  6, Airmen Selection Centre, Mumbai of the Indian Air Force will hold recruitment rally for airmen candidates from Goa at the SAG grounds Campal from November 11 to November 13 to fill Airmen Group X Technical Trade and Group Y Trade posts.

 The Recruitment Test for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades will be held on November 11 while that of  Group ‘Y’ (For Medical Assistant only) Trade will be held on November 12, 2014. The candidates should report at the SAG grounds at 7.30 am.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Inaugurates New Premises of Police Out Post in Taleigao constituency

03/10/2014 …. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday Inaugurated the New Premises of Police Out Post in Taleigao constituency.

Present on the occasion were Director General of Police, inspector general of police sunil garg, north goa sp priyanka kashyap and other dignitaries

The new outpost at taleigao would serve under the Panjim police station and would have a psi and other police officials posted at the taliegao outpost and has been built at the cost of 63 lakhs on a 400 and above sq mts area

Addressing media persons after the inauguration chief minister Manohar Parrikar said that his government main aim in his tenure would be to get one police station each for every constituency of the state and once the situation was reviewed once again the taleigao outpost would be converted in to a full fledged police station

Parrikar said that once new recruits were put up in police department the state would have adequate no of force to be deployed at every police station of the state

On asked as how cum the local mla was not present for the function when the monosrattes themselves had raised the issue in assembly for a police outpost in taleigao constituency mr parrikar said that he had invited the concerned mla’s but was not aware as why they were unable to attend the function

 PANAJI PS: Complaint on behalf of the State that on 11.09.2014 at about 18.30 hrs., at Kingfisher circle-Panaji accused person Dharmanand s/o Raeye Salgaonkar, age- 24 yrs., r/o Mala- Panaji rider of  Bullet M/Cycle No.GA-05-C-0822, rode the same in a rash and negligent manner  while proceeding  from Betim to Panaji via Old Mandovi bridge and when reached at Kingfisher circle-KTC Bus Stand-Panaji gave  dash to  Honda Activa Scooter  No.GA-03-Q-9892 due to which pillion rider of said Bullet M/cycle  namely Savio s/o Leo Borges, r/o Betim sustained injury to his left shoulder. 2) Shri Prakash Gangaram Naik r/o Indiranagar-Chimbel complained that on 19.09.2014 at 17.30 hrs at Miramar Circle-Panaji accused person Mallik full name not known approached the complainant and assaulted him with fist blows on his mouth causing dislocation teeth of the complainant. GA03-0204 W/rs. 35,000/- and also stole away pulsar M/Cycle no.GA-11-B-6500 W/rs.90,000/- belongs to Akshay Thakur which was parked in an open parking place. CYBERCAFES HAS TO MAINTAIN REGISTER FOR IDENTIFICATION

Panaji; September 12, 2014 … The District Magistrate, South Goa District has ordered that the CyberCafes running in the District and other such Establishments shall strictly comply with the following points.  

Prohibit the use CyberCafé by unknown person and whose identity has not been established by the owner of the Café, Maintain register and make an entry in their own handwriting by the visitor mentioning name, address, telephone number and identity proof and also sign the register kept for this purpose.

The identity of the visitor shall be established through Government identity card only like Voter Card, Driving License, Smart Card, Passport etc., Activity server log should be preserved in main server and its record should preserved for at least six months, if any activity of the visitor is of suspicious nature, the owner of CyberCafé will immediately inform the police Station, Records be maintained about the specific computer used by the person and CCTV cameras should be installed in CyberCafé and at entry points so as to capture the face cut of every person entering CyberCafé. The CCTV footage should be kept for at least 30 days and be made available to police on demand.

Any person contravening the said order shall be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.   

The Supdt of Police, South Goa Margao, the SDPO of Margao, Quepem, Mormugao and the Police Inspector/SHO’s of the respective Police Station are hereby authorized to file FIR on behalf of the State if any person found contravening the above order which shall be punishable under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code.

The order has been come in force with effect from August 30, 2014 and shall remain in operation for a Period of 60 days.

HOTEL OWNERS DIRECTED TO CHECK IDENTITY OF VISITORS

Panaji; September 11, 2014 …. In view of increase in the incident of crime in South Goa District by the persons who came from outside state and from other circumstance facts, the District Magistrate, South Goa has ordered that Owners, Management of all Hotels, Lodging and Boarding, Private Guest House, Paying Guest Accommodation. Temporary Residential Accommodation of all religious bodies to prohibit any visitors, guest to check – in without providing any identity proof such as Election Card, Driving License, Smart Card, Employment Card, Adhar Card or any other photo identity card issued by the recognized authority.

No landlords, tenants,  owner, person of any house, property which falls under the territorial jurisdiction of south Goa District, shall let, sublet or rent out any accommodation to any person unless and until they furnished the particular of the tenants to the Police Station of the concerned area.

Similarly all the person who intend to take accommodation on rent or otherwise also shall inform in writing in this regard to the In – Charge of Police Station of the area in whose jurisdiction the premises fall.

The person dealing in property business shall inform in writing to the Police Station-In-Charge of the nearest Police Station about the particular of other tenants and Purchasers.

The above information shall be submitted in duly prescribed forms available in the local police station by the landlord within a week.

Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.

The Supdt. of Police, South Goa, the SDPO of Margao, Quepem, Murmugao and the Police Inspector/SHO’s of the respective Police Station are hereby authorized to file FIR on behalf of the State in the Court if any persons found contravening the above order which shall be punishable under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code.

This order will come into force with effect from September 2, 2014 and will remain in operation for a period of 60 days.

AGACAIM PS:Complaint on behalf of the State that on 08.09.2014 at 19.10 hrs. near Lobo Garage Zuari Goa Velha accused person namely Krishna r/o Madhu Kauthankar riding his Dio Scooter no. GA-04-D-6722 rode the same in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Vasco to Panaji direction and when reached near Lobo Garage Zuari Goa Velha he lost his control over scooter due to which pillion rider Bhiva s/o Rama Salkar r/o Sal-Bicholim fell down from the scooter, thereby causing grievous injuries to the pillion rider & succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical treatment at GMC Bambolim. CALANGUTE PS: Shri Sebestian @ Saby D’Souza r/o Candolim complained that on 09.09.2014 at 19.30 hrs to 22.30 hrs at Candolim beach near Car Park Camotiwado accused person namely Agnelo Fernandes r/o Candolim set fire to his fishing hut containing fishing black wooden canoe, deck beds, billing wooden counter, 02 deep freezer, wooden table & other items due to which causing loss to the tune of Rs.5,00,000/- to the complainant.Cr.No.204/14 u/s 436 IPC stands registered. 2) Complaint on behalf of the State that on 07.09.2014 at 22.00 hrs. at Demani Concolim near Dilkush Hotel accused driver driving his Rikshaw no. GA-09-U-1307 drove the same in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Vasco to Panaji direction and when reached at Demani Concolim near Dilkush Hotel dashed against pedestrian from the front 1) Dilkush Ramchandra Chari 2) Vasudha Dilkush Chari 3) Lata Chari 4) Ritesh Chari due to which causing them injuries. SUPDT. OF POLICE SHRI GAWAS APPOINTED TO INDIAN POLICE SERVICE

September 11, 2014 … Shri Arvind Gawas joined Goa Police as a direct PSI in 1987. He has worked at Panaji PS, Anti Narcotics Cell and at CID Crime Branch.

He was posted as In-charge of Police Stations at Colva, Cuncolim and Old Goa. He was thereafter selected as direct DYSP in the year 1998, through GPSC. After going through 01 year Basic Training at Maharashtra Police Academy, Nasik, he underwent Probation Training at Commissionerate of Police, Nagpur. On returning to Goa,

he was posted as SDPO Mapusa and later DYSP Traffic (North). In 2003 he was promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police. He has worked as Addl. SP (North District), SP (Headquarters), SP (North District), SP (South District) and he is presently posted as SP (Traffic). He is a recipient of Chief Minister’s Police Medal in the year 2006 and President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2013.

PANAJI PS:Complaint on behalf of the State that on 05.09.2014 at 17.45 hrs., accused person namely Badshah s/o Maulasab Chapperban r/o Indiranagar-Chimbel driving his Tata Ace Rickshaw no.GA-07-F-1740, drove the same in a rash and negligent manner, while taking his rickshaw from internal lane of building campo verde to main road, without taking proper precaution gave dashed to Yamaha M/Cycle No.MH-20-Z-275 who was proceeding Adharsh Circle Caranzalem towards Donapaula direction on main road as a result rider & pillion rider of the said M/Cycle fell down on the road and causing injury to the left leg of the rider Anand Avinash Mahajan. OLD GOA PS: On 08.09.2014, dead body of one Rohidas Vishram Naik , age-54 yrs was found hanging in forest area to the mango tree at Gaulebhat Chimbel. Dead body preserved in GMC Morgue Bambolim for PME. U.D.No.50/14 u/s 174 Cr. P. C. is registered. PI-K.P. Sinari is I.O.

2) Shri Sumantkumar Surendranath Chaturvedi r/o Baiginim complained that between 09.06.2014 to 23.08.2014 TNK suspected accused person Vikaskumar Singh r/o Porvorim stole away his ATM card & by using the said ATM he withdrawn cash of Rs.73,000/- from the Old Goa and various ATMs. Accused arrested. CANACONA PS: On 08.09.2014, vehicular accident occurred at Tamnem-Lolyem between Pleasure scooter no.GA-08-Q-4824 and Sumo no.GA-10-A-0546. While scooter rider rode the same in rash & negligence manner and gave dash to sumo jeep while overtaking his scooter as a result scooter rider Jyotiba Dessai age-27 yrs. r/o Junta Qtrs. Margao sustained grievous injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the spot. U.D.No.29/14 u/s 174 Cr.P.C. is registered. PSI-A. Gaonkar is I.O.

2) Shri Ameer s/o Mahiddinsab Kattimani r/o near Masjid Gurudwara, Mangoor hill Vasco complained that on 07.09.2014 at 20.10 hrs at near Maharanapratap buldg. Mangoor hill Vasco accused person Durgesh @ Durgappa r/o Mangoor and Manju r/o Baina & 08 more unknown persons with their common object formed an unlawful assembly armed with deadly weapon and assaulted his son Rehaman Kattimani and his friend Maulali Shaikh with fist blows, kicks & knife with intent to kill their by causing them injury.
