The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (DFDA) has informed that the Additional District Magistrate cum Adjudication Officer has disposed off two Adjudication cases filled by the Food Safety Officers of DFDA namely Smt. Nousin Saba S. Mulla and Shri. Lenin D’Sa on Food Business Operators for Manufacturing and Selling Sub-standards Food items- Mix Shev and Jaggery and has imposed fines as under for violation of provisions under Food Safety and State standard Act, 2006.
The details of the Food Business Operators who were Manufacturing and Selling Sub-Standard Food Items by adding non-permitted synthetic food colour and the penalty imposed are as follows for the Food Item Mix Shev the name of the party and penalty imposed are Shree Taleshawar Mahila Mandal, Prop. Mrs. Kajal Kishor Karbotkar, Chinch Bhatwadi, Mayem Bicholim, the penalty imposed is Rs. 20,000/-, Kara’s (Bakes & Kitchen), Prop. Mrs. Kirti Kishore Karbotkar, Chinch Deus Bhatwadi, Opp. Lake View Point, Mayem Bicholim, the penalty imposed is Rs. 15,000/-, AL Faris Bakers, Prop. Mr. Sajir Komath shop. No. 137/14/A, WH3, Zuarinagar, Goa, the penalty imposed is Rs. 10,000/- and M/s. AR Bakery, Prop Mr. Anuj K, shop. No. 29, New Municipal Market Panaji Goa, the penalty imposed is Rs. 10,000/-.
Similarly, for the Food Item Jaggery (loose) the name of the party and penalty imposed are M/s. DS Kadam Adat Dukan, Prop. Shri. Narayanrao Dhondiram Kadam, M.N. 1852 Rajashri Shahu Market Yard, Gandhinglaj, Taj- Gandhinglaj, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, M/s. Sushant Traders, Shri. Prop. Suryakant Temkar, 2/54/E1, Landmark Elite Residency, Duler, Mapusa and M/s. Landmark Supermarket, Prop. Shri. Mario Fernandes, 2/54/E1, Landmark Elite Residency, Duler, Mapusa, the penalty imposed is Rs. 15,000/- on each Respondent.
