With a drive to systematically work on enhancing communication channels with stakeholders to build a collaborative approach, the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR), the apex statutory body mandated to protect child rights in Goa, held a training and orientation programme recently for stakeholders in the child protection system at the Secretariat, Porvorim. It was inaugurated by Secretary of the Commission, Shri Mahesh K. Shambhu (IFS) with participation from the Child Welfare Committees and Juvenile Justice Board of both, North and South Goa, SCAN-Goa/Victim Assistance Unit, ARZ, Goa Police, District Child Protection Unit, Childline, and Directorate of Women and Child Development.

The informative sessions covered various aspects of child welfare legislations like the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Victim Assistance Unit (VAU) and coordination with police for all stakeholders in the integrated child protection system.
