The Goa Labour Welfare Board (GLWB), Office of the Commissioner Labour and Employment implements various welfare schemes for industrial workers.
These schemes are Grant of Financial Assistance for purchase of text books/ note books to school going children of Industrial workers/ employees, and children studying in 1st to 4th standard for supply of one set of uniform. Scheme for award of Scholarship to school or college going children of Industrial workers/ employees in various establishment, to pay incentives to the wards of workers on the basis of percentage of marks obtained by them passing final examination conducted by the Board/ Universities from class X onwards, scheme to provide Incentive/ Financial Assistance on the basis of attendance in Schools/ Colleges etc. to the female students studying in class V and onwards in any field of education being daughters of workers/ employees, where in last date of submission of application is September 30, 2026.
Similarly there are schemes for grant of Financial Assistance to the purchase of Spectacles, organizing sports games social and cultural activities, excursion cum study tour, crèches- scheme for the benefits of children, scheme for T. B. Domiciliary treatment of employees covered under the Goa Labour Welfare Act, 1986, scheme to Grant Financial Assistance to laid off workers and Stri Sakhi Scheme (supply of sanitary napkin vending machine), schemes for treatment of mentally challenged and spastic children/ Autistic child of the workers implemented for the Industrial Workers/ Employees.
Child care benefits for female industrial workers for six months from the date of delivery and for scheme towards providing assistance to the dependents on the death of the Industrial worker, the application must be submitted within six months from the date of the demise of the worker and scheme for retrenched workers assistance, schemes for payment of extra monetary compensation for sterilization to employees are implemented by the board.
To avail the benefits the Industrial workers/ employees have to apply through their employers to the office of the Secretary, Goa Labour welfare Board, Shram Shakti Bhavan, 4th Floor, Patto Plaza, Panaji. Only those workers who have put in continuous service and contributing to the fund are eligible to claim the benefits.
